Im not sure about the image quality, but the main difference as I see it is the colours. Anyway to configurate the contour to have more and "better" colours like the hero 2? I like everything about the contour but the colours doesnt seem that nice

I have noticed my Contour + having that yellow look too...I have the latest firmware...what might I try with the white balance? The GoPro 2 seriously kicks ass when you see the snow but the viewing range is way more fishy eyed.
@lsoph9 I woud just play around with the white balance a little more. i'm doing the same.. I found using the 7500k - Overcast seemed to give me less yellow even on a partly sunny day.
@PointOfViewCameras Could you guys do a comparison of the Gopro Hero 2 and Contour Roam? I can't decide which to get, the gopro has better video quality, but the contour is so much more compact, I'm only looking at these 2 because they are both water proof. I noticed the mic on the gopro 2 is kinda horrible because of the case, but it does have a mic jack, but then you loose the water proof ability which I need in case i drive through a puddle, but the contour doesn't have all the features.
@mightywarlock Yeah it doesn't look like the latest firmware. It looks too yellow, and the first thing I noticed with the 1.34 was how much whiter the snow looked.
@J1I9M7M4Y yes for sure, I just kept it on the basic settings. Almost finish another video where I dial in the Contour +. You can tweak the Contour + from white balance to Exposure. Will be posting a demo video of this with in the week.
@PointOfViewCameras I'll be interested in that. I've had issues trying to get the image to not be overly yellow when I've used the preset white balances.
@MarkHawkCam I'm guessing you already have, but does your plus have the 1.34 firmware update? It seems noticeably less yellow to me from the comparison vids I did in a before and after.
@snowreck I do have the latest Firmwares now but never went back to setting my own white balance since. I've left it at automatic on most of my tests now since I assume that is what most peoples experience will be with it. Though I will CC and white balance for my own footage :p

Is it just me or does the GoPro len's result in a more fish-eye effect over the Contour+ when panning from right to left?
They both have 170˚ field of view... with 'basic settings'.
Can this be modified?

I found with the last update the camera finally started looking better...I know they were updating the white balance algorithms recently...
But if this is the newest firmware, I may have to think about selling both my Contour+'s for some GoPro's...
Which do you guys think is the better choice? Or does it just come down to form factor?

@snowreck Yes we have it installed now but when this was shot is had the previous firmware. Will be doing a more recent compare very soon.
