  • I think it wld be just making good quality videos- that people enjoy. Even if its just one person

  • @FireChestProductions I think it's up to the individual. I think far too much energy gets wasted on comparing ourselves to others or having to respond to trolls, etc.

  • @XrotarebiL yeah i agree!

  • For me the success of Youtube has been making friends thanks to it and its gatherings. Subscribers mean a lot to me but getting views are my priority. I make videos for people to watch and enjoy. I would rather have no susbcribers and lots of views than vice versa. Every subscriber is important to me but I want them to watch my videos. I do not want thousands of subs but no views. I hope that makes sense.

  • @kensington25 Yes, it makes sense. I'd rather have a smaller amount of subscribers and a higher view count. It means a lot more.

  • I feel as if I've succeeded on YouTube because I have met so many wonderful friends here. I even had a friend come all the way from London to visit! We had a marvelous time and for me, that's what it's all about. I had to laugh as you were talking about the "myriad of distractions" when filming outdoors and then that noisy bird came along. Hahahahaha. You couldn't have asked for better timing from Mother Nature. GREAT!

  • @daligoddess2006 I find that's the stuff that's funniest. I have one video called "Are you laughing at me?" in which a Kookaburra starts up just as I go to talk. I thought it was brilliant.

  • it's when you have 1 or 100.000 subscribers that any way make you feel amazing.

  • @sunsetlover Thanks Ang.

  • 98 percent of success is showing up you tube is the best reality show somone is watching my vid right now awesome post and topic

  • @67kneil Thanks. I find your motorcycle videos to be facinating viewing.

  • The fact that anyone watches me makes me feel I succeeded.I'd love to have tons of ppl watching but I don't think that will ever happen so I'm happy with the small group I have.

  • @bearchay889 Yes. I mean for me it I get more than 20 views for an episode then I'm happy really. And it's the interaction with my subscribers and what not.

  • @XrotarebiL Yeah that's about the range I stay in 20 to 40 views but like you say they are quality.

  • @bearchay889 yeah.

  • Quality over quantity.... some youtubers just post utter crap... and unfortunately some just lap it all up....

  • @robdotcom71 It's about appealing to the lowest common denominator.

  • i am share this video

  • @history797 Good choice.

  • Success hmmm tricky question success is making videos that people actually want to watch and getting joy out of making videos. I have seen a lot of channels that have a mass of subscribers but they don't necessarily get people viewing their vids and they don't interact with their subscribers (their loss).

  • @cheekychickenhead Well, it's subjective. I think I was just offended by a certain youtuber's obsession with blind subscriber numbers and that anyone who isn't where they were is somehow a loser. I try to interact with my subscribers as much as possible. It helps to get repeated views if people genuinely care about what I'm doing.

  • I think probably getting a lot of views and comments mean a lot to me, some may have a lot of subs but not all of their subscribers actually watch their vids. But yes you are right in that just being able to make a video is success.

  • @DownUnderDoug Yeah, it can be a bit like that. I haven't had internet access for 8 months, so it became a major pain.

  • At a time where you have certain big name YTer's (not mentioning any names) being plastered all over the site at the expense of smaller tubers such as myself, I think having viewers/subscribers who regularly comment/interact with your videos could be counted as a success, as I feel that even if the same people are interacting with your videos, at least your videos are being watched rather than passed over and/or ignored.

  • @GarethGazzGravey1 I agree. Success can different for different people and I think it's rather subjective.

  • Having fun and enjoying oneself :)

  • @01davethecouchguy It's all subjective. And I agree.

  • I don't define YT success as any of what you said. Because if I enjoy doing it and meet friends then I am happy girl ;)

  • @cozzyk Ultimately, people have to define success for themselves on youtube.

  • @XrotarebiL Indeed I would like to reach out more in defined videos on cooking but we shall see. do you have goals?

  • @cozzyk My main goal was just to do videos where I was telling the truth and see what happened. I knew that I wouldn't have huge subscriber numbers or anything like that because I was more interested in getting people to think for themselves. If I get 20 views for each video, then I\m happy.

  • @XrotarebiL I had no goals and still to this day not sure why anyone watches me. It's a video about nothing really. for me it's a diary.

  • @cozzyk I think you are a decent person and that's why people tune in.
