In the new updates there has been some updates, so that video don't explains it all more.

1. A wild wolf will charge sheeps in range.

2. A tamed wolf wil not attack a creeper.

3. You forget that a wolf rotates his head when you are holding food/bones, to say he wan't it.

Ive been in a pine tree biome (taiga) for 5nights or more. I still never could find ANY wolves. What am i doing wrong?

@Hyurachan Put some torches the ground all over and then wait for night. Get to an elevated position so watch for them to spawn. It took me 2 hours to find the wolf in this vid

@Iodess ill tell you a sad and joyfull story i had 1.8.1 i found a wolf i had 0 bones then he ran off then animals spawned i was in my world a long time for a year no animals i had to eat bread wen the wolf went by and next time i met the wolf again he sacerfised his life.but more and more animals came the wolf is a good sign the wolf looked at me at his death with a smile

Actually, it was just another spawned wolf, because animals despawn,

Unless it was tamed, But if it was 1.9 pre-release, you would have actually met that wolf, but also you would have to eat bread or migrate because the animals are there forever. But if you have animals in 1.8, it will be fine in 1.9, but you need to feed the animals and have them breed.

@not0my0style This is a custom painterly pack. You can just google 'painterly pack' and it will be the top link. Click on create and you can customize your own. If you dont want to do that check out the SMP revival texture pack. download it and drag the .zip file to the minecraft texture pack folder and you are good to go.

just cause your wolf can swim it dosent drown, one of my wolves drowned cause it got some how stuck at the bottom of a lake. I think it was a glitch or something. Oh and the best places to find wolves are in big forests and snowy places with lots of trees

@roselove007 Wolves can't drown, it says so on the wiki, yours probably got stuck in a block, they're still able to suffocate.

Wolves are not hard to find you have to find the right spots Wolfs are always in packs so search deep in teh woods :)

I know this is old, but I would like to say that Wolves do not attack Creepers at all. If you command it to attack or if you are being attacked by the creeper, the wolf will not engage any creeper at anytime. Also, the F3 trick to identify the mob with a number is very unreliable. If you travel away from your wolf far enough, new mobs will spawn and the numbering system changes. If you stay close to your dog, I think it will work, but still unreliable.

you missed only 2 things... if you hit a wolf while its sitting it will start attacking you on its butt. and if a wolf is tamed with only 1 bone all the other wolves that you find only take 1 bone too.

There is no set coordinates, they appear randomly in forests and large grass areas.

Wolfs are eating all food, but they healing just with porkchops. Pigs drops 1-3 porchops. :D
