I tried to get to Guildford from Dorking but in the end had to turn around as most of the roads were closed

You're kidding! We had it for a couple of days and the county ground to a halt! Schools closed, hospital operating lists cancelled etc.... we're not great with snow.

You're right we don't! That's because we don't usually get so much of the bloody stuff! If we did, the govt. would be able to invest in proper snow precautions...but they don't and people moan because when snow comes, (rare as it is) we aren't prepared. I reckon, though, if the govt. spent many millions of the country's budget on snow, the public would be like "what the...why have you spent all our money on something that comes around rarely?!"

Therefore, I conclude. no one wins!
