  • pretty much Greg Howe influenced

  • Camera didn't catch it but he played this blindfolded.

  • much better than buckethead

  • still no cd?! WTF

  • i wish the quality was better but nonetheless... a simply breathtaking performance

  • tabs?

  • This guy was Soviet Union's answer to USA's John Petrucci in the cold war. Too bad 1991 happened.

  • very cool man....very cool...

  • not fair :(.....

  • Actually amazing

  • is this paul gilbert playing ;) lol nice job

  • Hijo de una gran siete!!!! (Y)

  • It's, real fast... Still sounds like shit.

  • i've been watching this video once or twice a year since i first saw it in 06 (a bazillion times, that year), and it's still fucking amazing. like petrucci on crack. or better!

  • whoever is saying if you cant learn anything by watching someoene up close(especially this guitar masturbator) is a shithead!

  • Sorry.......Watched the Bucky Larson instead. Funny as all get out!!!!!

  • that[s awesome, dude! congratulations!

  • what kind of guitar is this?

  • @yourboykarp esp horizon custom _espguitars.ru/images/artists/starodoub_horizon_coa.jpg

  • what the fuck kind of technique is this? picking and using his fingers aswell? never have i heard of this

  • @halo3forlyfe hybrid picking

  • @s3njibaz ah, I've been playing for years I've honestly never seen this, but awesome!

  • Shitheads that post vids like this should go fuck themselves.

This is not a lesson whatsoever. If you've got a pair, put the lessons on YouTube for free, not by subscribing to some dumbass e-mail like I'm guessing is the next step of the process. I don't even want to go this guy's site, I just would like the content on this fucking website.

  • @AirHendrix91 Nah, I think you need to go fuck yourself. If you can't learn anything from seeing a great player up close, no "lessons" are gonna make you worth a damn.

You can see and hear what hes doing. Do you need someone to hold your hand?

  • @JerryGTRVids This isn't a fucking lesson, just admit it

  • Halo

  • saw this years ago and its still one of my favorite guitar videos, if not my favorite. this guy is just freaking amazing.

  • I challenged my guitarist friend to learn this. All he said was "challenge accepted".

  • @oumo did he get it down? lol

  • in the words of early cuyler, "Dayum son!".

  • wow havent havent watched this since the year it was posted, i am still nowhere near being able to play it :(.

  • Very original! Giving me something to practice now!

  • what the,...youre not a man,.,youre a computer,.,your playing really great,.,your my idol.,.youre the best,.,

  • Why are you not famous?

  • cool playing,keep it up.. =)

  • the first 15 seconds are the best part of the entire thing...

  • i think people who didnt like this are unable to hear notes, to be very honest i didnt think this was any good either. Not a lesson for sure, inside or outside the box. I suppose this dude posted this so we can see how fast he is. Goodie.

  • :l...................

  • what kind of guitar is that.... O.o

  • @JgHaverty ESP horizon custom

  • it's seems very hard ):

  • this is some of the best playing on youtube.

  • @scrotzki789 yeah dude its really fast bro.. must be good!

  • SHREDDING DUDE!

  • Why are you people saying this is a crappy lesson that doesn't teach you anything or that it's not a lesson at all? I for one took a look at what he was doing and I got a whole bunch of new things to practice now. This is as much a lesson as the people who teach you how to play different licks or a certain technique. You guys have to think outside the box. ;)

  • love it

  • Tab anyone? Just Joking!! :)

  • Those who say this is not helpful, it is because it isn't truly a lesson, just some guy playing guitar, not to say that the playing is not good.

  • Buckethead's cousin.

  • @Blitzzkreigg more like father

  • @Blitzzkreigg eh this guys better than buckethead

  • @Blitzzkreigg better than buckethead though

  • fretwank

  • This is why one person shouldn't have 1706 accounts.

  • This would be incredible if it were an actual lesson.

  • are you satch?

  • Is this an Ibanez?? Anyway, nice music & playing!

  • messy shit

  • very nice music dude

  • how can this get dislikes, this guy is a god

  • @Scarletbanned Its because there is not jealousy button so the jealous ones press dislike......

  • @denisgiann Or maybe because it says "Here's some cool free lessons" and there really isn't any lesson here. But I still love this.

  • @SuicideAlexis the ....cool lessons as you clearly can see are in the link not the video....anyone who can read can see that........and the title of the video doesnt say lesson either....dont fool yourself mate....this is pure jealousy going on for the guy....

  • @denisgiann OH! I see it! alright my bad. you're right haha.

  • @denisgiann Between buttons "Like it" and "Jaeolosy" shoud be another one: "Respect but it's not my taste" :)

  • @Notturno81 True..but i believe that if something isnt your taste you dont give it the time of day...you just ignore it.

  • Is It Paul Gilbert's Backing Track?

  • awesome guitarist

  • what kind of guitar anyone know?

  • @georgesorosisgay1 It's a custom shop ESP. You can find a page with detailed listings of this guys's gear. I wish he had a video with his rare Ibanez RG-ART1

  • O yeah dude...monstrous. Beautiful tone...What kind of pick-ups are those?

  • kràss_gÊbt_mÂl_béÎ_gôoglË:_geldeasy_Èîñ_vOll_krãss

  • good..now do it with your feet!

  • @alexrb26 LOL

  • Reminds me of Francis Dunnery.

  • That was awesome, Arkady is great guitarplayer! I like his "Popurri" the most!

  • I've never heard of you but it was awesome.

  • As a neo-classical guitarist I get it but I tend to agree with others it's not useful

I mean it's a useful technique just sayin this video doesn't really explain anything in detail like a lesson series would , of course thats not it's purpose I guess.

I gave up on all guitarists when I found buckethead.

the rest of us clowns just don't messure up to buckethead.

  • @azkeyz

Have you heard of Allan Holdsworth?

  • @azkeyz

true in many ways. nobody is as diverse as buckethead. however, i strongly suggest you look up shawn lane considering buckethead himself called him the greatest guitarist that ever lived. nobody is more technical than shawn.

  • nice! I love it homie. good phrasing and a nice funky but, rock feel. That's what i'm talking about! where'd you learn some of these techniques you're applying if you don't mind me asking? I hear some of the same types of thing's Misha Mansoor incorporates in there.

  • pretty quick fingerers there tex ,,,NICE

  • sounds like rush

  • Now try to do it on acoustic guitar too.

  • Speechless... ;O

  • my girlfriend gives faster handjobs than your right hand picking:P

  • this is pretty cool!! even though I exepected a lesson :S, well anyway thanks, it's grat to see some cool playing!, check my cover of jump start of greg howe please!! and tell me what you think, i'd apreciate it

  • holy shit O.o

  • roll with it

  • fantastic, even though it has nothing to do with fusion

  • I wish the sound was better, this is fucking amazing

  • That was cool.

    Now do it backwards.

  • That right hand :-O

  • You re amazing.

  • this is simply phenomenal

  • is this a protest the hero song? good god it sounds like them

  • hahahaa this is some fucked up shit, straight progression

  • smokin and nice and clean. i'm curious... are you a marc bonilla fan? I think I hear some influences, especially in the song structure. good job and inspiring.

to those who say he needs to sharpen his technique... i gotta imagine you're just trolling.. it's super tight.

  • woah,youre a good prog guitarist

  • That's just an example of study and hours, and also an example of unaccurated work yet excellent.

You play great but you still need to do much :P take those exercices you do, play them slowly and give them more love :P

  • one of the best i've ever seen on youtube!!! he even rivals a lot of my favorite guitar players too, infact he is one of my favorites! imagine if this guy went against steve vai in a solo compitition,

  • this isnt helpfull in anyway.... but i liked it

  • @juswannawatchthings

Why do you say that? I think watching people play guitar is very helpful, he's not spoon feeding you the ntoes but he is giving another style to take ideas from. Create your own solos with what you learn from some of the sound this guy has, which is great.

  • @stride7860 true in mot cases. But here theres nothing for me to grab onto sorta and examine it in detail. Its a bit too....*sigh*....fast. Either that or ive given up trying to get better at guitar and roll with what skills ive already picked up. Whatever, i didnt find it helpful but im sure others will, im afraid however that part of the fascination has died for me :(

  • @juswannawatchthings i dont see any part where it says lesson of anysort.

  • @sumith44ith ....the same can be said of the contents of my comment. It doens have to be a lesson to be helpful

  • @juswannawatchthings ehh... touche

  • it sounds like shit

  • YOU ROCK DUDE!

  • damn what scale/modes did you play?

  • This is great man. Chops, chops, chops. Fluid, tasteful and technical. Damn I love that last lick. i think Ill be borrowing that.

  • killer solo dude, you rock keep on the good work!

  • The beginning was pure win.

  • Shit...this guy is awesome...i had to watch it like 5 times to get all of it...my brain is too slow...

  • Awesome.

  • i love the guitar and im more of a slow hand ( blues genre )than most guitarists on youtube it humbles me . this video is great it opens up many doors for me to learn new ways of playing. I wouldn't play this style but i would used the idea's over more blue's rock backing track's.Every video on youtube is a lesson for me , Great video and really good guitar playing i like it .

  • PLEASE ANSWER THIS!!! What do you call that technic from 0:36 - 0:38???

  • Ha! Crazy! Inventive!

  • this is really cool

  • ok. first part up to 0:16 is the shit dude i love it. just please keep with the first part and expand its just too good of an idea to throw away.

riff after that kinda kills it for me i don't know why.

  • @mkehandgrenades songs have ups and downs to keep the listener interested in what the guitarist has to say ^^

  • Beginning was wonky ponky as hell but so hard.

  • how is this a lesson?? more like a show off...:) but you are a good no doubt a bout that.

  • More then 1/9 of the people who rated, rated Dislike on this masterpiece... The people in this world are turning into sludge.

  • this is the shit man , what arpeggios are u playing in the begginig??? plz tell me you rock dude!!!

  • I suck..xD

  • but he does suck .... suck time .... watched this vid 300 times already and im still lovin' it XD

  • Man... I dunno If I'm kinda crazy... but... well... firstly... Amazing playing! you really rock a lot! I also could remember of few guitar players such as Zakk Wyld, Paul Gilbert and Kiko Loureiro...do you have influence from any of these ones? Cheers!!!

  • this is awesome man...thanks for the inspiration to practise even more !!!

  • The thign i dig about this is, hes not claiming to be some beast of nature, hes just playing the style of music he loves. which happens to involve crazy fast fusion licks. at least there not in penatonic. All hater i beilve are jelous and try to make this guy out for an ass hole who is trying to show off.

  • I wanna try that. Can you do that again in slow motion?

  • Woach! That's... I wanna try some of these techniques. Awsome play!

  • Does anyone know guitar he's playing? Im guessing its a custom make and looks like a Seymour Duncan pickup in the bridge? Maybe a Seymourized Mini-Humbucker SM-3?

  • This guy is THE NUTS. you have to admit it.

I've watched this video like 42 times now

  • wonderful!!!

  • 1,685 people missed the like button.

  • @FastFoodies no they just didnt like the video, get over it.

  • This is one of the first guitar-videos on youtube i watched when i first entered the page years ago - and its still one of my favs.

  • Could you teach me how to play like that :D

  • @StraightUppJeff first off i do play guitar and i do know that this vid is real i just wanted to who's buttons i can push haha you fell for it why in the world would i look up fusion techniques and not know how to play guitar ? hmm... who's the idiot now

  • Comment removed

  • sounds like nuno but a bit sped up. great playing by the way

  • SHIT!!!! O_____________O

  • fake

  • @treyguy09 if you don't play guitar than you are just making an ignorant comment. if you do play guitar you are in general an idiot for not being able to tell when a song is just playing and there is a good guitarist overlaying the lead while the song is playing.

  • @StraightUppJeff Well... he is a good guitarrist indeed but he needs to have his technique more accurated to play at this level sometimes it gets a bit cloudy.

But indeed he's so good atleast better than many people.

  • @treyguy09 what do mean by fake explain

  • Is that a Unisonic neck pickup I see?

  • outstanding, teach me master!!!

  • god dammit!! what are you allan holdsworth on powerthirst and meth?

  • dont know why this got so many downs. ITs freaking awsome!!

  • KINELL !!!

  • Kinell !!!

  • My eyebrows just caught fire.

  • Teach Me Your Skills !

  • beastmodeee!!!

  • i like it!

    Better not be a sellout!

Better move up in the biz! and dont go mainstream!

  • Mmmh, guitar porn.

  • TSSS EXCELLENT.

  • Spectaculor!

  • not a big fan, of the mixing i think. cant hear as many notes as i see you playing?

  • tone is in the fingers = the way you play.. the gear has least effect on YOUR sound

  • You know that took practice. This was 4 years ago i'd love to see him play now. (hint hint)...

  • Did you write this your self..Its very cool btw.

  • IMPRESIONANTE EL MAN ESTE

  • Fuck that

  • There are 1681 jealous people giving the thumbs down. Just realize you're shit, people!

  • IS THIS YOUR OWN SONG????

  • There are two kinds of guitarists in this world. Those who get jealous or discouraged when they see something they cant do and try to discredit it..........and those who get motivated more and more to practise...better themselves and have fun in the process. The first group just buys the newest gear in the hope that it can bring them the "tone"...the second knows that the tone is in the fingers.

  • @Dreamdancer11 I know a guy in the first group! Kicked him outta our old band :-P

  • @Dreamdancer11 Epically said dude. A million thumbs up for that ;-)

  • @Dreamdancer11 most of the tone comes from the gear.... better pickups and amp=better sound. its a fact dumbass. otherwise people wouldnt spend the money for good gear.

  • @ShredFever92 i have a question for you then dumbass...who would sound better..this guy with a mediocre gear or the average noodler with a superb gear?Who would sound more like vai... you with a jem and a legacy amp? or steve himself on someones average gear? amps and pickups are very important but nothing is more important than the hands. You cant buy "the touch" even if you sell your house. You have to build it.But that requires work and buying a new amp is easier.

  • @Dreamdancer11

The person with the good gear would sound better with even a slight standard and that is a fact.

  • @figaz555 Only if he is at the same level or better...but not worse....if you are sloppy with bad gear you are also sloppy with a top notch gear.Neither your vibrato your bending or your sloppy muting will improve..in fact your mistakes will be exposed even more.If you dont have at least decent technique the gear is irrelevant
