For your information, AcdcfreakNr1, you have to move around while playing the violin, viola, cello, bass. If you don't put enough feeling behind the bow, you end up with a really bad sounding piece of music
I'm kinda curious about whether having a cord plugged into your violin gets on your nerves. It seems like it would kind of get in the way, unlike with a guitar or even an upright instrument.
Also, are there effects and things for electric violins? I could see that as being one advantage of an electric violin. You should try plugging it into a wah pedal or a talkbox, heh.
I have the same violin as you, in black though.. Acoustic sounds way better though. You did a good job, perhaps just speed it up a little, try to use fingers instead of strings without fingers when possible, and keep up the vibrato.

The non-electric violins sound more melow.

something thats played by ear have to say a really good job. However even if you are just playing violin as a hobby, try getting into the music. I may be wrong but I think you just played through without putting much emotion from the piece. BUT still much better compared to other violinists I have seen. Continue playing but yeah only things I would ask is try to put more emotion but all is good though. :)

after high school, i had to give back the violin i was using for strings class..then i went out and bought an old violin..after a while, because it was an old used violin, it started to fall apart on me..not literally really but more of the sound...it'd take me over half an hour to tune...it'd go out of tune quick..i duno, so finally, i jus gave up on it and got an electric violin for my bday last year =)

i'm well aware that im not always in tune or perhaps never in tune..sure..whtever...but again, i never said i was a professional...if i wanted all the real glory, i would've find some way to take private lessons and major in music...i didn't go that route because i didn't wanna be spending 40 hours or however much every week practicing, and be good for real
so as u can see...no time to practice everyday like i used to is the reason why i sound the way i do right now in all my vids...it's not often i have a chance for a few hours a day to play my violin..so when i do...i dont wana be practicing and perfecting scales till i get blisters...i wanna be trying out songs i like, to see how similar i can play it to the original song...that's pretty much it...
now, i play the violin as a HOBBY..and sometimes, i feel like sharing what i can do for FUN...i could care less if no one comments on my vids at all...i miss having to perform in school concerts so i make vids...only now, i don't have a teacher to guide me like i used to in school, and i touch my violin probably once every couple months..sometimes not even for 3, 4, 5 months...and it'd be a few hours of playing around..FOR FUN...
i've never taken violin private lessons..only started to learn in school in strings class since grade 6 and throughout high school..ever since that, there's college, then work and im sure u probably understand how that's like..
i make a vid or two here and there every two, three, four months and there never seems to be much improvement on how i play..what does that tell u? i've been working 45-58 hours for the past year or so, so u see, i don'th ave time to practice much...many many days where i've had 12 hours shifts..9-9..get home at nearly 10..dinner, shower, email, sleep...after a 12 hours shift, obviously im too tired to be pulling out my violin, tuning it, and practicing it...
Your attitude of not caring is clearly audioble to me through your playing. When you put in alittle effort and dedication, I believe your performance will improve 180% more. Don't be impressed with preteen underaged underdeveloped eleven year old ears' opinions. And finally, take care of your instruments, the amount of bow rosin residue you have is atrocious. If you take care of your violin, you will get that much better of a sound.

You seem to have the hart and willingness to play violin, but you are letting your ambitions get ahead of you, so you are skipping technique and aiming straight for glory, and to me by you posting yourself on youtube, that is probably what you are looking for. As a former professional at the violin, I know what you must be going through, and you type in things like 'be nice' and 'its only through ear', but such things are only proof of your craving for attention.
When practicing using these methods, ignore the 'fancy stuff' such as vibrado and and the dancing. Vibrado should only be used when the main note being hit is in tune. Develop your ear, first and formost.
Okay.Step one. Buy a tuner, fully chromatic, or an electric pitchpipe, and play in front of it. Practice every scale possible this way. Start with A-major, than G-major and the C scales. Practice those backwards and forwards.
You play wonderfully, i play the cemetery song on my violin, and man it's no easy task. Keep playing and pay no attention to people who bad mouth you, you're doing great.

i personally disapprove of electric violins. i think real violins have much better quality. with a classic violin, i think your sound could be much improved.
of course classic violins will always have a better sound quality than an eviolin...a classic is what i started learning with..i also have one as well, but ever since it began to sound weird on me..no matter how many times i adjust the bridge, changed the strings, and tune...i got frustrated and bought this electric one cuz it looks cool and i've always wanted an E one...maybe i'll invest in buying another classic one later on down the road.

sure i want some attention..i wanna be heard...everyone who post a vid of themself talking or showing off their talent or stupidity asks for attention...but all that is for fun, ain't it? isn't that what youtube is all about? that doesn't mean that i'm craving for the glory, to be recognized...

i'm well aware that im not always in tune or perhaps never in tune..sure..whtever...but again, i never said i was a professional...if i wanted all the real glory, i would've find some way to take private lessons and major in music...i didn't go that route because i didn't wanna be spending 40 hours or however much every week practicing, and be good for real

so as u can see...no time to practice everyday like i used to is the reason why i sound the way i do right now in all my vids...it's not often i have a chance for a few hours a day to play my violin..so when i do...i dont wana be practicing and perfecting scales till i get blisters...i wanna be trying out songs i like, to see how similar i can play it to the original song...that's pretty much it...

now, i play the violin as a HOBBY..and sometimes, i feel like sharing what i can do for FUN...i could care less if no one comments on my vids at all...i miss having to perform in school concerts so i make vids...only now, i don't have a teacher to guide me like i used to in school, and i touch my violin probably once every couple months..sometimes not even for 3, 4, 5 months...and it'd be a few hours of playing around..FOR FUN...

i've never taken violin private lessons..only started to learn in school in strings class since grade 6 and throughout high school..ever since that, there's college, then work and im sure u probably understand how that's like..

i make a vid or two here and there every two, three, four months and there never seems to be much improvement on how i play..what does that tell u? i've been working 45-58 hours for the past year or so, so u see, i don'th ave time to practice much...many many days where i've had 12 hours shifts..9-9..get home at nearly 10..dinner, shower, email, sleep...after a 12 hours shift, obviously im too tired to be pulling out my violin, tuning it, and practicing it...

Your attitude of not caring is clearly audioble to me through your playing. When you put in alittle effort and dedication, I believe your performance will improve 180% more. Don't be impressed with preteen underaged underdeveloped eleven year old ears' opinions. And finally, take care of your instruments, the amount of bow rosin residue you have is atrocious. If you take care of your violin, you will get that much better of a sound.

wow, what can i say...thanks for the..essay? first off, i appreciate u taking the time out to telling me all of this and i respect ur opinion because it's mature..not stupid crap like 'u suck, take lessons' sorta thing...however, i can't help but be offend by how u're judging me...so u're giving me tips on how to get better, that's cool...but to assume that i'm doing this for glory and i'm getting ahead of myself over the comments without knowing my whole story? that's not cool..

You seem to have the hart and willingness to play violin, but you are letting your ambitions get ahead of you, so you are skipping technique and aiming straight for glory, and to me by you posting yourself on youtube, that is probably what you are looking for. As a former professional at the violin, I know what you must be going through, and you type in things like 'be nice' and 'its only through ear', but such things are only proof of your craving for attention.

When practicing using these methods, ignore the 'fancy stuff' such as vibrado and and the dancing. Vibrado should only be used when the main note being hit is in tune. Develop your ear, first and formost.

Okay.Step one. Buy a tuner, fully chromatic, or an electric pitchpipe, and play in front of it. Practice every scale possible this way. Start with A-major, than G-major and the C scales. Practice those backwards and forwards.

You play wonderfully, i play the cemetery song on my violin, and man it's no easy task. Keep playing and pay no attention to people who bad mouth you, you're doing great.

I had a Stagg fiddle just like that and it broke in half...Sent it back,got another one free...That one broke in half also...But you can't beat $200 for such a cool looking violin

i personally disapprove of electric violins. i think real violins have much better quality. with a classic violin, i think your sound could be much improved.

of course classic violins will always have a better sound quality than an eviolin...a classic is what i started learning with..i also have one as well, but ever since it began to sound weird on me..no matter how many times i adjust the bridge, changed the strings, and tune...i got frustrated and bought this electric one cuz it looks cool and i've always wanted an E one...maybe i'll invest in buying another classic one later on down the road.

im a pro fessional violinist and that was good but i would suggest for you to slur the notes by using one whole bow. practice makes perfect!

wow, thats good by ear. i remember having to sing it after 2 weeks (40 mins each day) that kinda sucked, but it was still good.

kinda funny noticing the "what is love?" poster in the background... maybe it distracts my eye looking at the bg but not bad. If it was a concert I would criticize dynamics but its ok... after all none of us are perfect. Not bad
