  • great singing :) im planning to get this camera but im still not sure if i should. is the audio good for just singing because i dont play any instrument and i just want to upload singing videos for online singing contests. whenever i sing using my webcam, the sound isnt clear and it makes my singing voice sound really stuffy and deep. please answer soon :)

Thanks for the compliment. I think the sound is very clear and the stereo mics on this particular model record in with a wide sound which I like. Some recorders are stereo but almost sound mono because the sound is too centered. My one complaint is that the mics record too loudly and the sound breaks up and overloads, particularly at those times when you crank out vocally.

  • Thank you for taking the time to post. I just purchased the Zoom H2n and am very pleased with it, especially for the price. I play acoustic guitar and need to upgrade my video and then edit the spliced audio and video together. What do you recommend for less the $100 bucks in my situation?

  • @121jigawatts

Zoom H2. Nice. I got the Zoom H1 after I did this video and do just that. Splice the audio in and now I'm happy.I use both audios. The Flip mics are very bright, wide range stereo (great for vocals) and the Zoom H1 audio is warm, deep with lots of body(great for guitar). I just adjust the volumes to my liking in the editor as needed. As far as video, I'm very happy with the Flip and I've seen this model on sale as low as $79. (I'll send you a video I did with this combo)

P.S. Friends lock :( I'll have to wait for you to approve me as a friend before I send the video to you. Wish I could post the link here but youtube won't allow it. Hey wait, maybe I can do a video response with that video. Yeah!

  • Good ! :D

  • good singing.

  • @superkarategurlz

    Thank you for saying.

  • @justplainpissed your welcome.

  • Wow! You have a really nice voice!

  • @devpunk93

    Thank you so much.

  • Sounds like you just need to deaden the room. Maybe record in your closet with the clothing in it. You'll get a much better sound. Great voice!

  • @sorstudios

Thanks for the compliment. And yeah, good advice. Was considering that the other day too.. Did a recording in my small store room and it was a marked improvement.. The wide range stereo sound you get from these mics is rare on a Video camera in this price range. Since I did the video, I've been experimenting and combined with the Zoom H1audio I'm getting a product I'm very happy with.

  • Nice! :D

  • Yeah, you have a great voice! Thanks for this review, it really was helpful as I'm researching cameras to record myself singing as well.

  • @sbjetsy

Thank you for that compliment :) Hope you find something suitable for you. I am now using a Zoom H1 audio recorder in concert with the Flip Video recording and I edit them together. The Flip audio track has a bright wide range sound but I do have to reduce the Flip audio volume in the editor because it breaks up. And the Zoom has nice warmth and depth and together, I'm getting a pretty decent product now.

  • Your a good singer and guitarist!

  • @Lovemyfans5

    THANK YOU!

  • @LeeJamTV I have heard some nice things about the Kodak zi8 which has a mic jack. They go for about $100 on sale and then, with a decent mic, it may be more what you're looking for.

  • @LeeJamTV I was hoping it would but no,it doesn't. Would have been easier since file transfer is long because of file size. Great quality on the video but that also usually means huge file size.

  • @LeeJamTV

Yeah. I found out about that after I got this camera. It's the Flip Ultra HD III that has the port. Great addition to a good low end camcorder. I also think you can only use Flip accessories with it aka the condenser mic you mentioned. I think the Kodal zi8 gave flip a run for their money since it has a mic jack which is rare on the low end camcorders.

  • @hbirdrocks

Yeah, it does but it has minimal features. You can reduce file size (since the original file is very large) and you can clip the front and the end of the video off. And it has other features like direct upload to Youtube, Facebook etc. But not too much more in the area of editing. I need an editor that can edit out middle parts and patch together one part to another and one that can reduce the volume since the Flip records very loud and breaks up. Things like that.

  • The sound is pretty clear, Thank you :D
