@tom196rules It's sorta obvious she doesn't mean it, else why bother recording such a heartfelt cd? She was teasing about his success in making a ragtag team win 20-in-a-row yet not being able to nab the world series he'd been longing for.
There's an underlying meaning to it though; the final lines are portraying Billy's fate as a character, always an underdog and a "loser". It's an ironic play on his character since it's implied he stayed for his daughter.
@psadpoiafsdf Dude did you even watch the movie? It was great. Thats what the real side of baseball is all about.
And cmon, the book ranks up there with Bill James's Baseball Abstract as one of the best of all time. If you cant enjoy that book, then your not a real fan of the game becuase Sabermetrics is what the game is all about
@KyleCagle3 2004 world series mvp on PED. Big papi, Ryan Braun (plays for a team owned by the commish) on PEDs, Home run leader on PEDs. Single season home run leader on Peds and still working in MLB. Who has not been linked to PEDs that has had success recently. Sabermetrics is not what the game is about. PEDs. Also, the As lost in the first round of the playoffs when they reruited talent the old fashioned way and lost in the first round with sabermetrics. Baseball is a boring joke.
@psadpoiafsdf You've to see the movie to see the beauty of a daughters words for her dad. Who is making a decision to go far away from home for a better career deal (bigger paycheck) and fame. She puts across what is more important to him, his daughter.
Now this guy hates to loose, more than he likes to win, he hates loosing. She says "looser dad" as he is about to loose his daughter for a big career.
