I would take the blues jr over the class 5. And not just cuz I have a jr cus it has more watts and has a crispier clean and distorted sound and for the same price. Blues jr all the way
@jammers5 What if your using a les paul? Would you go for the Blues Jr? I was just wondering because I got the Class5 and I wanted more of the clean crispness that a Fender has. Did I make a bad choice?
@kooray83 no I don't think you made a bad choice at all. The LP and C5 give you that classic Les Paul into a Marshall sound the BJ could never replicate!
@jammers5 I posted on TDPRI not too long ago that every time I see your signature I have to do a double take thinking, "I didn't know John 5 posts here"
@jammers5 That guitar collection is absolutely SICK. The funny part is in the collection video he says he doesn't have a '51 Nocaster since he couldn't find a nice enough one to buy. Then the video at Norman's Rare Guitars he came in to check out a '51 Nocaster and ended up buying it for his collection!! Check this video out /watch?v=jmTC1wKpegs
@h4ckb0x7 Dude I gotta thank you for turning me onto these videos - too cool! i f he was in Halford I saw him play live on the Iron Maiden Brave New World Tour - Halford opened for em in Vancouver!
@jammers5 I doubt you saw him with Halford then. He toured with Halford in the late 90's then joined Marilyn Manson from 1998-2004. If I remember correctly the Brave New World Tour was 2000-2001. Anyways, he is definitely worth it to see. I've seen him twice with Manson and once with Rob Zombie. It's much better with Zombie because Rob will actually give him a section of the show to play songs from his insrumental solo albums which Manson never did.
@DieByTheDrop Yeah, a few of the amps are gone - the Orange, the Blues Jr (replaced with the Blues Jr Ltd Ed) and the Valve Jr. I recnetly bought my dream amp so I had to clear a few out!
@menneskeriolie Master - 2 /Mid - 4/ Bass - 6 / Treble - 7 / Volume - 12/ Fat Boost on and Reverb at 0. I sold this amp a while back in favour of a Blues Junior 3 Ltd Edition Model with Celestion V30 in it.
@jammers5 hey isn't the blues 3 just the same amp with a different speaker? Did they actually change something internally? I have the tweed nos version and like it alot. would like to try different speakers out eventually, but have to break this one in first.
@glassbottleblues The Blues Junior 3 has the "sparkle mod" which, basically, is a couple of changes to the PCB board involving a couple of capacitors. These alterations give the BJ a brighter, spankier & slightly warmer tone. (C10 removed, jumper added C9 removed altogether) I sold my Blues Junior in favor of a BJIII with a V30, that sounded better, IMO.
@TheStormtrooperrr ??? The volume knob turned up gives you the gain (Master down, volume up) However this amp LOVES ovedrive pedals! What did you get?
@MOSKII58 I love all equipment.....guitars, amps and pedals. They are all different in their own way, sound different and react differently to guitars and pedals! Mixing and matching is a lot of fun and helps me shape my individual sound. I get lots of compliments on my tone, and that's thanks to lots of experimentation.
pardon me sir but like what i said in your other post.put a lil' bit of reverb specially if you are power chording like that..you will hear the difference
Just wanted to know your opinion about which amp you prefer better: Fender Blues Jr. or the Blackheart Little Giant half stack? I would mainly do at home practice and I play classic rock, blues ... etc. but also love good cleans. Any feedback would be much appreciated! Good video man.
@AssassinDude The Blues Junior - for the simple fact it has a master volume and you don't need to rattle the walls to get a good tube driven overdrive! Based solely on tone would be a hard choice, as they are so tonally different......
@psychedelichobo Yeah it sounds great I have to admit! Maybe I'll get a video together in the next few weeks. Very busy this week then off for a week's vacation....cheers!
Yeah I guess that's a fair comparison as it has the thickness of a humbucker but it is brighter. The Burstbucker pickups is great because it has lots of bite with overdrive but is nice and mellow when the amp is cleaned up. I'm actually playing this guitar right now into a Gretsch Electromatic G5222 clean and it sounds awesome! Check out my SG clip on youtube (SG Movie.m4v)
@tony93666 Hard to say which one I like better to be honest the both have really good qualities about them. They both live on opposite sides of the tonal spectrum but they both have nice cleans and gain sounds.
I really don't get the Haze amps. I've tried em and for tube amps, they don't do it for me. IMHO the Class 5 is a much better sounding amp.
@skaterguitar4ever yeah there was someone in the guitar store playing it in another room, he came out with it and I had to ask what he was playing. I loved it so much I bought one on the spot. This one is cord straight in, no effects. I love all my amps but this one is the most versatile of the low wattage (>15w) Clean crunch and gain in this tiny little box! What I really love is the sound for the size! I will gig with this one too!
