I really don't understand the people comparing a Missile Boat to a Pseudo-Frigate(the LCS projects). The concepts are not even closely related. The American LCS is designed for future Grenada style invasions(limited armament greater preference for Special Forces transportation/deployment), the Type 022 is designed to prevent such invasions in Chinese territorial waters(why it is armed with 8 Anti-Ship missiles), allowing to build large numbers and quickly replace losses(if necessary).

Type 022 cost US$50m, weight 220 ton. LCS 1/ 2 cost US$750m. weight 3000/ 2800 ton. Totally different animal. Type 022 is basically a cheap, fast, agile platform for 8 long range anti-ship or lank attack missiles. LCS 1/ 2 combines the mobility of Type 022, the capabilities of a Chinese frigate (almost), but at a cost even greater than a typical Chinese destroyer.

Yeah, the LCS 2 is far more advanced then anything China has....the LCS is built as a sub-killer...65% of China's Navy uses "legacy" ships, that are over 30 years old. India's fleet has far surpassed the PLA..
