But most of dylan's songs and writings weren't based off of personal experiences either, they were mainly from the books he read and many of his lines and ideas were taken directly from passages of novels. He was only original because he was the first to really put them into songs. Not sure if the same can be said for young as I haven't really listened to a whole lot of his music.
