There were a bunch of veterans hired in the summer of1996 that were around for years and for their 'big break in the wwf' they were all given piss poor gimmicks. Ron was a black gladiator. Tracey Smothers was a country bumpkin babyface. Bill Irwin was a heel bully hockey player. Alex Porteau was an 'amateur wrestler' where his finisher was a roll up. Tom Brandi was the heel Italian Salvatore Sincere (which actually had potential if pushed). Ron was eventually OK, but the others deserved better
vince was on something here to repackage a true legend like ROn simmons into this! urghh like when Barry became the Stalker! ot when Tracey Smothers became Freddy Joe Floyd...Jesus save us insanity!
