We recently got a new Frigidaire dishwasher (it's our first one) and we use the regular cascade in the bottle. Since then, a lot of our glasses (and some plates) have started fading. Do you have any advice on how to stop/reduce the fading? Thanks!
if you mean glasses going clowdy (ie. looking white on the glass) then you need to use rinse aid, or use detergent with glass protection - these both keep glases sparking. if you mean fadeing of paint and design, then this is unavoidable, in which case just handwash these. plates and dishes of one colour can be washed, gold and or silver lace disign should be handwashed
they are to expensive, considering normal powerball dose the job everytime. why waste money on tablets that don't need to be unrapped and keep you glasses sparkling a little bit longer. all of our glasses are normal drinking glasses so we don't care
1) this dishwasher is very good. hotpoint pre 2002 are built very good. this one has a 40min quick wash with the same drying time as the other progs. drying is brilliant.
2) you can open the door at any time during the cycle
This dishwasher is better than this one we had when we went to america!!! That was hotpoint, It kept washing for 2 minutes, then it would drain, and it kept doing this throughout the wash!!!! Think it was broke though!!!
Would you say dishwashers are a washing machine of some form?

2) Can you just open the door at any time during the cycle, or just at sespific times?

Oh boy.. That's a half load! I'd have rinsed that on Economy, maybe even on Quick! :P
Hotpoint nicked the tab and rinse aid dispenser from Bosch; The inside of the machine also looks a bit Boschy... Cool :D

These dishwashers were Bosch dishwashers but badged up as Hotpoint - about the most durable Hotpoint appliance ever to exist!

Ah... That explains a lot :) Thanks!
No wonder, Bosch/Siemens dishwashers are very good *lol*
