Question: Do you mix all 4 of your styling products when doing your final braiding? Do you then let your french braids air dry or do you sit under a dryer?
Here's where I get confused. Did you let it dry in the mini french braids? Then undo it, then cover your hair in gel, then braid it again, sleep, then take it down? Is that right?
@Pyke32388 In the beginning her hair was still wet from her wash. she took down each plait to add product and gel then french braided. then she let that dry and the next day took it down. hope this helps.
@Pyke32388 Yep, just what @ksib3 said. My hair was still wet when I french braided it. I usually keep it in braids or twists as I set my styles to help minimize tangles. I let it dry overnight in the french braids. Thanks for watching! :0)
You are so pretty and your hair is FIRE! I have been natural for 7 years. While my hair has grown sooo much and is at it's natural texture, I have not worn it out. You have inspired me to take the leap! Thank you!
@missodu 7yrs!? That is awesome!! :0) I can't wait until I have seven years under my belt! How exciting! Can you send me a picture when you wear your out style!? I would love to see it! Thanks so much for watching! :0)
Question: my hair is not as thick as yours,or most black women and when i try styles like this...it take ALL the fullness from me...and when i try to do things to fluff it out...it becomes frizzy and loses all the definition...any suggestions???
@TheSugartush Do you usually do twists or braids? Also, do you set your hair when it's dry, or wet? Sometimes twisting your hair instead of braiding can result in more of a 'full' style. Also, when I set my hair dry, it is a bit more fluffy. If you don't mind heat, you can also blow dry your hair first, then twist or braid it, and that can add volume as well. Good luck! I hope this helps a little. Thanks for watching!! :0)
@WhoCares3001 - I only use a little gel... maybe 3 parts curly pudding and 1 part gel. It stays soft and fluffy! The Herbal Essence gel never makes my hair crunchy and stiff even by itslef though. Maybe it't the gel. If I did it with eco styler gel, it would be more stiff! Thanks so much for watching! :0)
Braid outs are my staple style. I usually do single braids though--I never thought of French braiding the roots. I don't know how to French braid but I can flat twist. This tutorial makes it look similar to flat twisting and super simple. I'll try it next wash day. Thanks for the video!
@JendayiFaith - The relaxed hair won't look exactly the same, but it will be pretty curly if you let it set long enough. It's a good way to hide the two different textures! I'd say try it out and then play with it! It won't look exactly the same, but it's still really cute! I wore my hair that way a few times while I was transitioning! Thanks for watching!! :0)
@AfroQueenShae - I usually just braid it into about 6-8 large braids each night and put a satin bonnet on. It usually stays pretty defined! Thanks for watching!! :0)
@cupofteastyle - I usually just braid it into about 6-8 large braids each night and put a satin bonnet on. It usually stays pretty defined! Thanks for watching!! :0)
I love your hair! I love braidouts, but I have that problem of not being full enough in front. So thanks for this video and the tip to fix that problem, I will be trying that once I take my micro twist down. Be blessed
That was really cute, and what a neat trick cornrowing in reverse to get fullness coming torward thef ront. I just Subscribed. Loe your hair texure it looks so soft!
Hello LBN, I'm trying to figure out if your hair was braided at the beginning, and then you braided it again with product, or if you just had it parted after washing it and then did the French braids.
@frotastick - Hey there! It was braided before I did the French braids. I braid it once I detangle so that it doesn't get tangled again while I'm doing the rest of my hair. Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching!! :0)
your process is kinda of like Naptural85 when she did that tutorial on how to retwist and stretch a twistout...you both have great hair....thanks for sharing the journey
omg! thank you soooo much. So I just started the natural journey, I have stayed away from relaxers since 2009 and have been in and out of weaves and was recently contemplating on going back to a weave. But when I saw your video's it encouraged me to stick with my natural hair. I really do appreciate it. when I do my twist out's they always end up going back or all over the place. Thank you so much for this video because it has helped me sooo much. && shows me what to really do w/twist outs :)
@babeehtwix You are soooo welcome!! I'm glad I could help! I know just how you feel, when I first started, I lived on YouTube!! In fact... I still do!! Lol! Thanks for watching!! :0)
Thank you for your video. I just found you today and from the looks of it, we may be hair twins. I love your hair and it looks very similar to mine. How do you describe your hair? Texture, density, curl pattern, etc. I'm not into hair typing systems so I understand if you aren't either. But I am wondering if our hair is more than just visually similar. If you have a video on this topic please direct me to it. Thanks, again!
@kalicia84 - Hello!! =) I don't pay too much attention to the hair typing stuff... I would guess my hair is 4a, 4b. But I couldn't say for sure. Sorry! Maybe I'll figure it out and do a video just for you all because I get asked that quite a bit! Thanks for watching!! :0)
