0:50 the cop says, "stop being silly". Anyone that was there that day would know how utterly ridiculous the protestors were being, crying and screaming like as if they were being belted and pelted by Syrian armed forces. Truth is, they were treated like people that were breaking the law.
@newsradiohead You mean, giving a public space back to the people of Melbourne? Yes, it is democracy. Otherwise it would have been exclusive to one agenda. Now it's free of all agenda. THAT'S democracy.
Apparently the Melbourne police have been studying the Abu Ghraib story, but something tells me they missed the point. Do they also ride around at night in white pointy hoods?? Sheesh. Good luck to you, Australia.
SUFFER SUFFER SUFFER, ID LOVE TO BE A COP ON DAYS LIKE THAT, I LIKE WHEN THE HORSE TRAMPLES THE PROTESTOR, IF ONLY IT TRAMPLED HER HEAD AND GAVE HER BRAINDAMAGE, GO POLICE, PROTESTORS SHOULD BE PUBLICLY EXECUTED FOR TREASON
Suffer to all you commie hippies, IF I WAS PRIME MINISTER i WOULD HAVE LOCKED U ALL IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND GASSED THE LOT OF U SCUMMY PIECES OF SHIT
$400,000 one day and $190,000 the next day. That's how much money my portfolio lost practically over night.
Blood, sweat and tears are ultimately marked by the dollar bills in our wallets. Dollar bills created from an equation created by the men of the Federal Reserve Bank in a scheme to make money without actually doing any work. An equation that they did not know at the time would result in collapse, either way it was wrong.
These individuals are dead now and the world is stuck with their ..
i cant believe how many police have commented on here lol or bank workers lmao..wat the hell is wrong with some of you slow arse australian people..these are the times we live in now..catch up or get left behind. its not an american thing ..its rich vs the poor. we are the 99% while and idiots on here that are talking shit about the movement are only the 1%..the enemy
@dadaddymak Actually, it's the other way around. Australia is leading the race. America needs to catch up with us. We tax the rich at a higher rate and consider capital gain as income. We don't have the 99%/1% divide. We have public health care. We have a welfare system that looks after those that need it most (aka the low income earners, disabled, senior citizens). Our politicians aren't bought, and work for the people.
So yes, the rest of the world needs to catch up with Australia.
@badpanda84 One of the reasons our economy does so well is that the money is going to the lower/middle class, basically, the people who spend it. Because they are spending, they are keeping the economy afloat. That is why giving THEM the stimulus package was so successful in keeping Australia out of recession.
Also, China would never have a welfare system simply because their mode of government would never support it. That's the problem with being communist. No excuse for America though.
@Clarrisani "Also, China would never have a welfare system simply because their mode of government would never support it. That's the problem with being communist"
LOL china hasnt been communist for 20 years - but to get 2 billion people out of poverty is an increably diffcult task.. its easy for say 20 million people to be out of poverty
@Clarrisani "Also, China would never have a welfare system simply because their mode of government would never support it"
NO is because you can't afford a welfare system for 2 billion people -- even if 1% of people were on welfare in china -- that would be 20 million people with is about the population of Australia -- no country can afford to provide welfare for that many people
@badpanda84 Which is why you need to structure it so only those MOST in need get it, and fix the economy so that there is no need for it in the first place.
@Clarrisani " Which is why you need to structure it so only those MOST in need get it,"
You do realise that even if china gave welfare to the bottom 1% of the population in china -- that will still be more that all the people in Australia combined.
@Clarrisani The one and only reason why Australia economy is doing so well is because of the mining boom -- with have crap loads of natural resources.
That is the only reason out economy is doing well...
Thank You for giving the public square back to the people of Melbourne.

From an American perspective Australia has become a fascist police state. How can you Aussies allow your police to get away with this?

You do realise that unlike the American police -- none of the Aussie police have riot gear , tear gas or pepper spray..
How can the American let there cops tear gas and hit people with battons?

This problem will never be fixed peacefully. It is like trying to demolish the foundation of the house without destroying the house.

You do realise the only reason we can do that is a) we have shit load of money from the mining boom
and more importantly b) our population is ridicoulsly small
Countries like china which have 2 billion people will never be able to have a welfare system

@badpanda84 Hence why the have the one child policy. China is overpopulated. AND their government would never support it.

True but the goverement wont support it because they can never afford it -- not because they simply dont want to give welfare to people

Actually it is an American thing -- you do realise that Australia wasnt affected by the last finincal crisis -
Unlike America it is the mining companies that have most of the wealth --
There are no really poor people in Australia -- even the poorest person in Austrlia is better off then a poor person in a third world country
