  • Wear helmet on your bike, wear seatbelt in your car. It's that simple.

  • Good Info to know

  • The helmets soft inside which is its most fragile part is protected very well buy a soft warm gooey center which is of not much use to anyone and can be discarded after the crash and replaced. The protection is also a useful means for the helmet to travel around and get a good view about 5-6ft off the ground

  • i think that gear looks cool. makes me feel like a ninja. but if you wear gear and can't ride than you look funny, but you should wear some either way

  • I will never even contemplate riding without a helmet.. I'm far too handsome, must protect this work of art ;-)

  • @brakeforlife I like it sir

  • Blah, blah, blah....people that sell helmets are always pushing their stuff but they aren't talking to people in the real world. I live in Illinois where we have no helmet laws whatever & as soon as the weather turns hot NO ONE wears them. I just got back from a Saturday night ride & passed hundreds of motorcyclists & didn't see even 1 helmet. Also no one was wearing leathers either, just t-shirts and jeans. I felt a bit overdressed in a cotton vest and fingerless gloves. THAT'S REALITY HERE.

  • You sir, are incorrect. I ride in Illinois and always wear a full face helmet. I always wear a padded and armored riding jacket and proper riding boots. Plus proper full fingered riding gloves.

  • @MaxCruise73 Yes, you're one of the few nerds around here that does on the hot summer days - the less than 5%. Congratulations on being anal retentive.

  • Nerd I am not. Aware of how dangerous it is to ride amongst some of the worse drivers in the country, Yes. Illinois drivers in and around Chicago are some of the worse drivers in the country. So I always wear the gear. When I go down I will not end like Ms. Brittany Morrow. Google that name and see what happens when you go down with your preferred riding gear.

  • @MaxCruise73 You can be even safer if you don't ride a motorcycle at all and I'm sure one day that's what you'll choose to do. Motorcycling is a risky activity and all the gear in the world is no guarantee that you won't be seriously injured or killed in an accident. Studies have show that helmets are only 37% effective in preventing head injuries.

For me, if it's 90 degrees out and I have to wear a full face helmet and leather racing suit in that hot sun, I would rather not ride at all.

  • @CaneFu Let them risk their lives then, you be smart and stay protected. It comes down to whats more important your life and staying alive or what people think you look like.

  • @ukmale164

And what makes you think you are protected on a motorcycle with a helmet on? You're not so don't pretend that you are. If want to really be safe then don't even get on a motorcycle.

  • @CaneFu no obviously nothing is guaranteed. But they do save lives. Bikes are too fun to not ride. Its all common sense. Wear one = keep your brains, simple.

  • @ukmale164

If you'll go back and read my original post you might get the point of what I was saying rather than your blind no compromise rule.

  • @CaneFu you said you felt overdressed where you live and the reality of where u live theres no laws on helmets and people there dont wear anything. i assumed by overdressed you meant that you wear the correct safety gear. I get your point.

  • @ukmale164

NO, you still don't get my point. The REALITY is that almost no one in my area wears leathers and helmets in the summer heat. That's REALITY, now deal with it from there.

  • @CaneFu Reality is, an exposed body on a motorcycle is sure to get injured in a crash. Proper gear gives you a fighting chance to reduce your injuries if you have a accident. I know, I am speaking from experience.

    ATGATT

  • @motormanish

Having been a rider for decades, survived 3 motorcycle accidents, and a member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club I am also speaking from experience so go blow your smoke elsewhere dude.

  • @CaneFu I know this comment is fairly old but i have to disagree. Ive been riding for 17 years, probably not as long as yourself but i'm not going to argue with you about that. My experience with helmet vs no helmet comes from working as a paramedic for the last 12 years and having attended crash sites where victoms either have or have not been wearing helmets. I've seen them save lives without a shadow of a doubt and ive also had to pick up skull fragments along with hair and brain matter >>

  • @Antifaith29

Good god man, the number of people like you with a lack of reading comprehension is limitless. Go back and read my posts...I never said there was no benefit to wearing a helmet and leathers during a crash - obviously wearing a complete suit of armor is of benefit during any impact. What I said was that in my area NO ONE around here wears helmets or leathers in the summer heat, period - and that's the reality. The vast majority of people choose to take the risk for riding comfort.

  • @CaneFu Ok champ. No need to be rude about it, i might not have read that far down. As for heat stroke, well i live in Australia, no need to talk to me about the heat. I'd take yours over mine any day of the week.

Ya know, it's fucking typical of youtube isnt it, i politely disagree with something you have to say and you come over like an ass and start making it personal. Weak as piss.

  • @Antifaith29

You know it's so like YouTube isn't it...that you resort to name calling when your argument is exposed as weak. There was nothing personal in my reply to you as the fact is you did indeed exhibit a lack of reading comprehension but you just couldn't admit that you made a mistake. You have just proven there's absolutely nothing polite about you so piss off

  • @CaneFu Regardless, as ive said, ive seen it up close and personal, if youve ever had to pick hair and brains off the side of theroad im fairly sure you'd change your tune. Just because something is law, doesnt mean everyone follows it. I'm not going to argue the point further with you, like i said earlier, were both entitled to our opinions, that was mine. I'd suggest this goes no further, i really couldnt be bothered with a slagging match, especialy with some Harley riding .well....nevermind

  • @Antifaith29

No need to have a slugging match or continue to argue - I'll just get right to the point - you're a fucking asshole.

  • @CaneFu Yeah ok , and youre a fucking idiot. Typical wanna-be hardman over the internet, go tell some more people youre a outlaw. You also have an attitude problem , seems no one has slapped it out of you yet. I'll leave ya to it , Princess. You go on being badass online.

You people give me a decent laugh though, thanks for that. Anyway, off to bed now sweety, night night.

  • @Antifaith29

And yet, here you are, being an internet warrior making idle threats while hiding behind the safety of your computer. So far you have proven you are everything that you have accused me of.

  • @CaneFu Im not threeatening you at all , what the hell would be the point of doing so when youre on the other side of the world for starters, secondly making threats online is laughable. The slapped it out of you statement was just an observation.

  • @Antifaith29

Oh no, don't back peddle now. Come on, why don't you threaten to spend big bucks to fly to America, try to find me, and kick my ass. You seem stupid enough to make such a comment.

  • @CaneFu Go over what i said, i hope the irony regarding reading comprehension isn't lost on you. I'm not back peddling from anything, i didnt threaten you.

  • @Antifaith29

Just can't stop replying to me can you? Strange for someone who stated they don't want to continue with a pointless argument.

  • @CaneFu Ofcourse im going to reply to accusations like that. Now youre just trolling, i WILL leave you to it this time, youre just trolling now, enjoy.

  • @Antifaith29

Trolling is something that people post just to get a reaction but you replied to me first and if you'll notice in my last post my goal was to discourage you from replying anymore, and yet you still did. You started this nonsense by disagreeing with me and I guess you're one of those twisted psycho fucks that just has to have the first AND last word in any disagreement. Prove you're a better man than that and don't reply to this post, just let it go and walk away.

  • @Antifaith29

Also, since you have now stated that you live in Australia and shown a bad attitude I will now make it personal. Your inability to conceive of riding a motorcycle in anything less than a full suit of armor is understandable as your country requires even bicyclists to wear helmets by law. Statistics have proven that riding a bicycle for the average person is no more dangerous than walking but still your anal retentive countrymen insist on everyone wearing a helmet - how asinine.

  • @CaneFu >> for those that have not been wearing one. Quite honestly, it's a no brainer ( no pun intended) as far as a little discomfort vs possible and likely death.

Anyway , i'm not having a go at you, youre entitled to your opinion , just adding my 2c.

Safe riding mate, have a good one.

  • @Antifaith29

"as far as a little discomfort"

NO, it is a LOT of discomfort in the 95 degree humid weather that we had this past summer in Illinois. Even wearing no helmet and just a tank top and jeans I had to forgo riding my Harley the past 3 weeks because the heat coming off the engine combined with the hot humid weather was almost unbearable even at night. Ever hear of heat stroke??? Wearing leathers and a full face helmet during such hot weather is a great way to die from it.

  • I dare you to not click my name. YOU HAVE BEEN DARED!!

  • @IDAREYOU2NOTCLICKME I dare you to stfu and suck me dry

  • @IDAREYOU2NOTCLICKME I dare you to stfu and suck me dry

  • i got 12 actually and 3 actual

  • 12 actually + 1 actual :D

  • he said "actually" 11 times

  • What's up my bald homie!?

  • if you want to loose your brains instead of your helmet..then don't wear it.

  • If your that worried about your hair, drive a car

  • DRIVE

  • The guy died anyway? WTF?! Well, at least he didn't damage the helmet too badly..

  • so having a full head of hear is also helpful in a crash, the hair will compress like the styrofoam, right right right right right right right, no no, what

  • I belive he said "actually" or "actual" 14 times.

See if you get the same result!

  • lol i got 12 maybe i missed a couple

  • Someone do me a favor and count how many times he says any form of the word "actually". Im eyeballing somewhere between 20-30.

  • actually actually

  • 10 times

  • wen did u do ur CBT mate

  • Great post! very informative and well explained, the more people are made aware of how important good safety gear is the better off they will be on the road and track. thank you for the upload
