@BADprid3 Actually it is street legal. The super snake was and SC cobras (Semi Competition) were. I had the pleasure of driving an original. The owner knew of 2 other originals and he said one of the easiest ways to tell it's real is to look at the paint and interior. He said paint should be faded and interior should have cracks.

Almost all cobras you see these days are kit cars. Whats funny to me, and probably not for the viper guys, is that is most likely a kit car with a ford 351w stroked out to a 408. it probably has similar HP numbers to the old 427, but the whole car would be in the 20k price range, less if the guy did any of the assembly himself. real 427 cobras can accelerate to 100mph AND GO BACK TO 0 in under ten seconds, they are old school race cars.

Most Cobras you see these days are kit cars. I rode in one my uncle owned as a kid. Had a 427 big block with a hellacious cam and 3.50 gears in it. I will never forget the insane power that thing had. My hopped up Camaro is nowhere even close, and it'd probably have to be making 800+hp to compete on the power-weight ratio.
As I see it, the viper is a real fast car! But the cobra was winning races against Enzo back in the day and cobra held records that still to this day are barely there but they are it would pull 100mph in 6.1 sec and would top out at 188 in about 11sec thats a number that still can give u the edge u need to win a race with a 5 speed and some newer technology it would wrap a speedo like a miracle! They are a desirable piece of history and kudos to dodge vipers with v10 for putting a place in hist
Power to weight ratio is far more superior with the Cobra versus the viper and that's why the cobra won. Stock for stock side by side to top end and you would see the viper run away from that cobra!

My previous toy (67 Sunbeam Tiger w/ horsed 289) turned 10.4 @124 mph in the quarter. The new Cobra is built with a BB ford 428 / 600 hp plus. Car weights 2500 with me in cocpit. That less than theTiger. It had 380 hp. I sold the Tiger after putting the "ladders" though the frame. My life past before my eyes in an instant. Never again!
after 40 some years we still hold the cobra as the standard. the europeans didn't see that coming. between the a/c and gt40, the sound of the exhaust is what i call music. they called it unfair. LOL!!! love the feel of muscle cars.

Actually Motor trend tested the Cobra against a Viper (old 94 Viper),and the Viper ate the Cobras lunch in every category. Not even close actually. Cobras were fine in their day but just don't hold a candle to any model Viper.In fact it is just embarrasing that anyone who knows anything about cars would compare. If both are running stock,then there is hardly any production car that can compete. Now if you put twenty five or thirty grand into any car,they will run faster.

The owner knew of 2 other originals and he said one of the easiest ways to tell it's real is to look at the paint and interior. He said paint should be faded and interior should have cracks.

Almost all cobras you see these days are kit cars. Whats funny to me, and probably not for the viper guys, is that is most likely a kit car with a ford 351w stroked out to a 408. it probably has similar HP numbers to the old 427, but the whole car would be in the 20k price range, less if the guy did any of the assembly himself. real 427 cobras can accelerate to 100mph AND GO BACK TO 0 in under ten seconds, they are old school race cars.

Don't you get it, that a 550HP car that has 1000kg can beat the shit of a Viper or ZR1? And yes, it is 46 years old (1965 as example). The Viper has about 500kg more. Do yourself the math for hp/kg. Most Cobras you see these days are kit cars. I rode in one my uncle owned as a kid. Had a 427 big block with a hellacious cam and 3.50 gears in it. I will never forget the insane power that thing had. My hopped up Camaro is nowhere even close, and it'd probably have to be making 800+hp to compete on the power-weight ratio.

As I see it, the viper is a real fast car! But the cobra was winning races against Enzo back in the day and cobra held records that still to this day are barely there but they are it would pull 100mph in 6.1 sec and would top out at 188 in about 11sec thats a number that still can give u the edge u need to win a race with a 5 speed and some newer technology it would wrap a speedo like a miracle! Power to weight ratio is far more superior with the Cobra versus the viper and that's why the cobra won. Stock for stock side by side to top end and you would see the viper run away from that cobra!

I have invested 160,ooo plus to have my AC Cobra built over the last 4 years. I sure wouldn't want to break parts proving that it was as fast as a Viper. My previous toy (67 Sunbeam Tiger w/ horsed 289) turned 10.4 @124 mph in the quarter. The new Cobra is built with a BB ford 428 / 600 hp plus. Car weights 2500 with me in cocpit. That less than theTiger. It had 380 hp. I sold the Tiger after putting the "ladders" though the frame. My life past before my eyes in an instant. Never again!

Actually Motor trend tested the Cobra against a Viper (old 94 Viper),and the Viper ate the Cobras lunch in every category. Not even close actually. Cobras were fine in their day but just don't hold a candle to any model Viper.In fact it is just embarrasing that anyone who knows anything about cars would compare. If both are running stock,then there is hardly any production car that can compete. Now if you put twenty five or thirty grand into any car,they will run faster.

I was just thinking The Cobra supposedly had 460hp at the crank, and it weighed what 2500lbs. @magnum9987 there's nothing wrong with dodge and the viper is far, far from a pos. i'd buy any dodge or chevy before a ford, but i'm more of a vette guy myself. the viper is a very respected, beautiful, and fast car. you need to learn to give respect when respect is due. the acr is incredible, it held the nurburgring record for a while. there is nothing about the viper that classifies it as a pos at all. achieving 600hp n/a is an extreme rarity these days, props to dodge for doing it.

@omeanix forced induction decreases engine life, it's a power adder. you can put a procharger on any of those dodges and it'll blow the doors off the gt500. congrats, you smoke challengers and chargers which weigh hundreds of pounds more than yours, but if an srt pulled up next to you'd be done. depending on what you did to your car that is. ford doesn't know how to make a powerful engine without supercharging. name one modern ford n/a engine that even touches 400 hp. dodges looks better too

@Sharingan221 3340 vs 3450 of the dodge, it has a stiffer chassis and it uses magnetic suspension and brakes that FERRARI also use. It gets 20 MPG, Dodge can only boast 18, steel brakes, and a hydraulic suspension. The Corvette is better in everyway.

The LS9 has a blown 6.2l V8 that makes 638 HP, and 600 FTLBs torque. Dodge 8.4 L V10 make 600HP and 570FTLBS torque. MUCH LESS. That and its heavier weight MEANS ITS FUCKING SLOWER THAN THE VETTE. Vette 0-60 is 11.1 seconds, but you pulled that mysterious 11 seconds flat strait out of your ass, because wikipedia confirms it is 11.6 seconds.

If you supercharge a Viper - you end up with a Venom and that's around 1000hp, way more than your ZR1.

@phantom5573 Thats because the Viper has a 8.4L big block v10, while the ZR1 has a 6.2 small block V8.
AND NO ONE GIVES A SHIT IF ITS SUPERCHARGED. Stock Car v. Stock car, the ZR1 is better in everyway.

@phantom5573 THE VIPER HAS A v10 BIG BLOCK, YOU STUPID FUCK. The motor is 2L bigger than the vette! THATS WHY IT HAS A BLOWER. And because of it, it lighter and more powerful! It doesn't matter that the viper isn't Blown. Stock vs. Stock, the ZR1 IS THE BETTER CAR. And If you Supercharge the Viper, I can modify the ZR1 as well, and still smoke the Viper. Learn the facts. @bigorangetrucker I did not say a single fucking thing about styling. What the corvette has that the dodge doesn't, is performance. More horse power, less weight, better chassis and suspension, and because of that it is faster to sixty, faster around corners, and faster to 0 too. So ford and dodge can suck it, because they don't have CHEVY performance.

Another clueless remark.Vipers have owned vettes since they were first made.Vettes have tried hard to compete but still even with a supercharger cannot quite do it. Can't even beat a stock Viper a year older in the quarter mile. Viper 11 sec flat = ZR1 Vette 11.1 sec. With a turbo cahrger on the snake thier is no comparison as the Viper wins by two full sec. What makes idiots out of all you dummies dissing the fastest american muscle car ever built anyway? Just a sign of the times?

I've watched alot of vids with vipers,but for some reason this one made me think of that corny show viper!! Idk why nut i did,it came out when i was a kid n i loved that $hit! the viper is a hunk of overpriced shit you cant even use it for a daily driver handles like its drunk and its a god dam hot box like seriously you can burn your body on the fucking shifter and if your not careful the side exhaust and plus i mean its a 8.0L V10 with only 600hp i think any other car company could come up with a lot more power with that displacement
