I can't understand why John Boles didn't have more success in the movies. He certainly had the looks, definitely the voice and his comedy acting, as in this clip, was superb.

Douglass Montgomery had great legs.I thought he was a looker (even back then).The phrase "over my dead body"how natural of Gloria to say that.She actually had a marvellous voice.John Boles,yes he was a great looking guy too.

John Boles was great looking and had good screen prescence it is hard to understand why these great stars just fade away. He earned fantastic sums even in 1936 $50.000 a picture. Lets be honest though Gloria's beauty was not timeless though. I must be missing something in her style. Thanks for posting

you're so wrong, as Gloria's beauty WAS timeless. She stayed amazingly beautiful in her 40-50's as in her 20's, and even after 60 she still looked marvellous!
