ive always wondered how effective this is in a real fight. seriously no one just stands there and waits for you to finish your combo. its nice and pretty and im sure its great workout for the body...but in a real fight? im not talking about a cage or anything with a referee. im not so sure this dancing stuff is so effective...my niece takes TKD and i personally believe i could kick her master's ass.
@mysticx0 I'd say rather very effective. if you notice his speed. and the fact that he almost isnt touching the "victim"? :p plus some of the "grips" is paralyzing og making the other person unable to move proparly :p I personally mean that alot of martial arts are alot of bs. but SOME of it somehow just seems to be the real deal :p
@mysticx0 I have seen this man in person..and I know a person who has studied under him extensively....and I can tell you that this man..and his style is nothing you ever want to be up against. He is 100 % for real.
Superman and Chuck Norris both wear Robert Bussey pajamas.
But seriously, Chuck Norris utilized some of Robert Bussey's techniques in the movie Delta Force II. You can see Chuck Norris doing several Bussey-inspired techniques in this video: watch?v=lkdR-HZRFBs
yea, but up to the part where theyre actually ingaged in combat...then the other guy knows he's there and they actually have to fight. theyre quiet and stealthy most of the time whenn theyre moving around...it's still pretty stealthy...ninjas kill sweet and shortly...besider growling is as intimidating as screaming...just stealthier.
no Im not an expert, but i am a black belt in karate and compared to what we do, this is pretty stealthy stuff...oh yea, most martial arts mimick the movements of animals
karate is karate and ninjutsu is ninjutsu...go ahead and research that urself...i would say, this particular technique is mimicking some kind of clawed animal because he's wearing what's supposed to be razor sharp...I think...umm please research it...sorry for my info stops here.
sorry...not that adanced...I have to do my own research to...add me and ill keep you posted...karate and nija came from different sides of japan...karate means empty hand...I think...ninjutsu uses a lot of stuff from shurikens to blinding powder...im far from a sensei...again add me and ill keep you posted!!
i think you need to do a lot of research as well, because i have visited a few dojos( genbukan, jinenkan & Bujinkan) and my eyes were opened, I don't what Bussey is doing but is wasn't what i have witness in the dojos I visited
I am doing a lot of research...all this stuff i told you was from prior knowledge!!!and stuff ive learned before...i dunno if i stated the correct info, but all the stuff i told you, i learned about over the years....he does use powder and shurikens...im sorry...im like a big wikipedia of info...thanks though.^^
i guess ill chime in, to make it short, Bussey being the "second" guy two bring over Ninjutsu left Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu in 1988, added items, and removed items he did not like and called it RBWI (Robert Bussey Warrior International), He disbanded RBWI in 1997, the former RBWI Instructors then continued on the style as American Ninjutsu, im currently a Assistant Instructor and have been doing it nearly four years now.
Even though he lives around here i have not seen him in around a year, but he had great control and great passion, which would make since after doing this as long as he has. I train under some of the instructors that where under him. If you saying that due to the video, you must remember that if he did it half assed or was to nice then people would not have taken the video seriously and we are supposed to meet up with him over the summer.
cool...i would like to meet him someday...the only problem is that i am a black belt in shotokan...which is a totally different style from the same place...
I have never heard of him turning down any one due to style, in fact i never heard anyone in our style turn down any other style, i train with TKD and jujitsu guys all the time
im just saying that i wouldnt know what im doing...it's like how we would treat aliens if they came here and said hi...and another thing getting in the way of meeting him would be that i live in oahu (island on hawaii)
...i would suggest you guys come here as guest in one of the tournies...but we dont hold many multi-style tournaments...one stupid question...when you spar...do you ever use the apprehending(excuse my spelling) objects too Ex:powder?????
Robert Bussey's control is excellent, but he does routinely hurt his sparring partners. However, he very rarely injures them. There is a big difference between getting hurt and getting injured. At one of his summer camps, I heard Bussey say something like "I WILL hurt you. I won't INJURE you, but this is definitely going to hurt."
If any of you dumbass haters don't understand what is going on in this video its probably a good thing for the rest of us. Go watch your wannabe ninja anime cartoons or something.
...Did anyone see any actually killing strike...on any of them? He's tapping and ripping very low damaging areas... I seriously doubt he even went any kind of Bujinkan training...
blah blah, yea watched your video wasn't impressed saw that kick that put you on the flat of your back. Joke yep you are a joke jr. Mind over matter since you don't matter I won't bother with you.
Excellent,i remember bussey in the old ninja magazines,he allways looked like some one not to fuck with.As any one from the bujinkan gone in for the ufc???
I think there was a guy that used Ninjutsu as his main style, and got pretty far up the ladder, but got knocked out by someone near the end of the season or whatever... however fighting works... like hockey seasons... you know what I mean.
Lol he cracks me up at times... Bussey only uses the kicks, cause he has a team of kickers who are extremely fast...But he Chorographs... When you see his ankle turn, then you see him, Goin for the kick... Same with his jump, he bends his knee...
what is your point? are you saying his kicking technique is bad or what? i have experienced his kicks and even in his 40s they are fast. Is he the only one that chorographs? why does he crack you up? I wish you could meet him then i don't think he would crack you up Are you a martial artist? what style?
I know Mr. Jennum won the ufc if you would see my comment saying that he did plus I also trained with Bussey in the early 80's here in Omaha. My comment about Horn is he still uses some Ninjutsu techniques in his fighting and his one of the most experiance fighters in the UFC type of fighting.
Hey rankor do you know steve jennum? have you trained with him before or did he mad you mad before? Mr Bussey is for real. I have been on the other end of his techniques and they are not impractical. What style are you in?
Observation? How much time to you observe while you are being mugged?
Anyhoo, Bussey and his students put on demonstrations every summer in the annual city days in Fremont, NE. The guy is very fast. Surely his videos have some "production" to them but I wouldn't want to be the guy who tries to pick his pocket.
Bussey used his knowledge of martial arts to create a style that was realistic for street combat. That is what he is demonstrating. It probably cannot be considered Ninjutsu, but that doesn't mean it isn't effective or worth learning.
Bussey is really good. Bujinkan people are jealous. Bussey certainly could demonstrate and show classical ninjutsu techniques, he just chose not to train in a classical way. He trained more for the reality of the American streets. I don't agree with everything Bussey says but overall i agree with his methods over current bujinkan which is a joke these days.
anime has a point. in ninjutsu you cant restrict your method of attack just because it isnt form. on the other hand, that is so much of a deviation it cant really be called ninjutsu. maybe his own personal ninjutsu i guess
Ninjutsu can use whatever striking meathod that seams effective, dont restrict your training becouse you think that a style doesnt use a spacific method of attack
im with fruitbooter954 and ninja dosnt make sounds wile killing his or her vicdom the only ninja thing i saw on that was the powder in the eyes and the guy was holding the damn powder the powder is triditionly in an egg shell with a peice of parchment keeping it closed.
I've been training 5 times a week for the past 4+ years and have so far achieved 2nd degree black belt, and I can tell you that ninjutsu looks nothing like that, he looks like some showboat hollywood money making machine to me. His movement is very fast and abrupt, not at all like a ninja's. He is good at what he does, yes, but what he does is NOT ninjutsu. If you want to see real ninjutsu, type 'hatsumi sensei' in the search box. There are TONS of fake "ninjas" out there.
so..this is not "real" ninjutsu? he is a fake? why? I don't even know this guy, but i like ninjutsu, if anyone knows why he is fake, post one. B.T.W. he sounds like an Animal..
If you read up on him, soon after this video collection when he was leaning more and more away from the traditional of Hatsumi and "added many things to his ninjutsu" he formed RBWI, after he formed RBWI when he was asked about it in relation to Ninjutsu he would comment back about how he no longer wants to use that term and doesnt view RBWI as ninjutsu but as RBWI, their are quotes of it throught his site.
ive always wondered how effective this is in a real fight. seriously no one just stands there and waits for you to finish your combo. its nice and pretty and im sure its great workout for the body...but in a real fight? im not talking about a cage or anything with a referee. im not so sure this dancing stuff is so effective...my niece takes TKD and i personally believe i could kick her master's ass.
