Have you considered doing training clinics? I dont know how to start them but I know people do. You are so tallented by the looks of it, its absolutely spectacular. You could become one of the worlds next top horse trainers, especially since you dont use just any one method, you have your own approach. I would definately study under your training methods!

I know exactly what you mean! I've come so close to selling Teddy so many times... but I could never actually bring myself up to doing it.

It does make your bond so much stronger when you work out problems together, and just imagine the out come once you've worked through your issue :)

I'm going through a difficult phase with Teddy atm, dressage training aaahhh! I've found a trainer though, and its helping a lot with her guiding us through everything.

I bought Teddy unbroke and unhandled as a 4yr for $1400 Australian dollars, I'm not sure how much this is in America/England ect.

It was pretty expensive seeing as he was 4 years old and untouched(gelded late too), but he had a really nice movement and his temperament was perfect + he's a VERY quick learner.

hey i am trying to figure out what kind of bit to use on my horse. i am teaching him to collect but the bit i have isnt working out. he resists the bit. any ideas anyone? oh and what kind of martingale are you using in this vid? write back

What type of bit do you have on him?

If he pulls a lot try a loose ring snaffle, then he won't be able to lean into it as easily.

Do a lot of flexing, and stretches. Lunge him with side reins to build up his back muscle.

Do a lot of circle work when you ride him, it'll come to him naturally if you ride him correctly.

Teddy isn't wearing a martingale in this video, but he is wearing draw reins in a few of the clips.

Just practice jumping with no stirrups on a saddle, then try just jumping with a bareback pad, then slowly work your way down to jumping totally bareback :)

Breathtaking video! I know how you feel. My 1st was a 10 yr old. untouched mustang. (tho my guy was willing to learn) I love that you did not give up and bully him into learning. The way you went about things was honest and brought you two so much closer. Bravo! I will def. be keeping my eyes on you for more videos. I actually have Final Cut Express 4, it's very similar to sony vegas, but it's for Macs.

I just made a picture on photobucket with the two black strips up the top and bottom, then white in the middle. Pasted it onto FCE, and took out the white part of the picture using chroma keyer.

So then it was like a little window.
