I've seen a lot of people say this song has nothing to do with the game and have criticized it for that. But XII absolutely has a theme of loss and letting go of the past; Ashe and Rasler, Vaan and Reks, Balthier and Cid, Fran and her home... Kiss Me Good-bye is absolutely relevant to the characters and the story and is, IMO, a beautiful song.

I love this song and I love this game. It's such a SHAME this wont ever get some kind of sequel(thats not a DS game...) because it's personally my favorite ff. It just matters on what you hear first and whats natural to you. Like if you normally watch The Simpsons in english, if you hear other language voices, it'll sound worse no matter what, y'know?

@GoldenPawprint oh no, I'm italian. I study english and japanese and I use to listen songs in both language since I was a child. I just think the japanese one is sweeter to hear and has a better timer. I didn't say I don't like this one, but the original melody is one with the japanese lyrics 'cause they were created together. The english ones came later and they are really different too, as you can see at finalfantasyDOT wikiaDOTcom/wiki/Kiss_Me_Good-­Bye_(Song) (remove DOT and replace with .)

Love this song!!! Just wondering, could this song be from Penelo to Vaan? I don't know, just throwing it out there, trying to fit the song into the story somehow. We all know that Penelo loves Vaan, and that he wants to be a pirate and explore. It could also be from Ashe to Rasler, but that seems more of a stretch since he died.

@Runeless Hmm, it's hard to say for sure. It's rather up to one's own intrepretation. I always thought of it as Ashe towards Balthier. I felt that by the end of the game she had developed a crush on him but realises that he would never be happy with her, away from his freedom/the sky. But really, the song can be taken several different ways.

@uzuki54 I agree that's a possibility as well. However, I was kinda thrown off of Balthier/Ashe. After Rasler died, I just never saw any clue that Ashe could love anyone else besides....perhaps Basch? Hey, does anyone notice in the ending movie that look Larsa gives Basch when he hands over Penelo's letter? Right at that time Penelo says "I think she misses him" --talking about Ashe missing Basch. Larsa seems to be hinting at something lol. You can look at it pretty much any way you want hahaha

@SuperLoneman Like as in post-game content? Fraid the closest you'll get to using the characters after beating the game is the sequel for the DS, Revenant Wings. Even then I don't think you always have the others, save for Vaan and Penelo (I haven't played it). They all split up. Ashe becomes Queen, Basch is in Archades, Vaan and Penelo have their own adventures, and Balthier and Fran do their thing.

@SuperLoneman You can reload your save file and go through the final dungeon or go do anything you didn't before and then the final dungeon. I thought you were asking if you can just keep playing after the ending without reloading your game, which you can't. And you lose them at the ending because it's the ending and the characters had no reason to stay together.

for me, the whole key of this game is just setting the gambits right. with that set .. you can pretty much roam through the game with no problem - except a few boss fights. I dunno .. I thought the game was quite easy =\

Levels are not that important in this game. Keep your equipment up to date. If you are strapped for cash just go to one of the good grinding spots and you can farm easily.

If you look the the story in general. Ashe and Basch are the main hero's. But the most commendable character is Vayne, imho. sure, he was cut throat about it. But what he wanted to achieve was really for the good of all men.

Vayne is definitely a tragic villain, but the ends don't justify the means. I wouldn't say murder and corruption are commendable... the story from his POV would've been REALLY interesting, though!
