hello! i just made this and im waiting for the caramel and base to cool down exept, my caramel is alot darker than yours??? i thought it could of been beacuse i used too much golden syrup but i used exactly 2 table spoons, will it still turn out the same? thanks
Its really nice how people say you 'OnePotChef' should get your TV show, and I understand that at least (probably) more people would have access to you but, you all have to admit that just watching him do all his videos from the comfort of his home, somewhat puts you in a relaxed mood. I just feel that being simple in this sense is better- I enjoy watching you work at your home- it gives me the sense that I can actually do what you're doing in your videos...You are really great at what you do ^^
OnePotchef, NORMALLY I DO NOT COMMENT ON YOUTUBE VIDEOS!!!, but in this case I will make an exception.
With this exception I just want to tell you how greatfull the youtubeviewers are witht he great movies you are uploading here on youtube, I just want to say you are a really great person for sharing this information and knowledge with us for free and on top of that you do it which such enthusiasm it is so much fun to watch you, You are my favorite youtuber!
I just discovered YOU! love your videos.. for this recipe can you tell me the size of the pan you are using? Not sure I have something that size here in the USA... I see too many goodies I want to attempt that you show!! off to check out the moroccan coconut truffles!

hey . seem like my caramel doesn't work so well . after i put into the oven it becomes more melted . and when i put my chocolate on top . my caramel and chocolate mixed .
@OnePotChefShow I know, that's why I queried the use of 'Self Raising Flour'. Usually it's plain flour for baking that doesn't involve raising. Ta, anyway.
You need to have a show on the food network. You have a great personality and you shine on camera. I have watched every video you have and tried many of your recipes (all wonderful by the way), you need to be on television!
OnePotChefShow: Can I Use Normal White Sugar Instead Of Brown Sugar ? HEY I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR SHOWS I MADE THE FRENCH TOAST AND MA FAM LOVED IT SAFE ;) PEACE !
Hey David, i'm actually wondering if i should make a sort of golden caramel sauce instead of the condensed milk one, so that it'd be more crispier or something..think that's a good idea?
O.O i can't wait until my mom make this , thanks David for the Recipe nd where do get these recipe , nevermind i know you won't tell me it's chef's secret :)
@31mjn You can replace the base mixture with 250g of plain sweet cookies reduced to crumbs (in a food processor, or crushed in a bag) then mix in 75g of butter (melted) and press into the lined tin. Chill for 15 minutes then follow the rest of the recipe as stated ;)
@KittyPaynee I recommend using brown sugar for best results. You can leave out the coconut if you prefer - but it will change the taste and texture of the final product.
@franchela22 You can replace the base mixture with 250g of plain sweet cookies reduced to crumbs (in a food processor, or crushed in a bag) then mix in 75g of butter (melted) and press into the lined tin. Chill for 15 minutes then follow the rest of the recipe as stated ;)
@emilydogz12 You can replace the entire base with a crushed cookie base if you prefer. Crush cookies in a food processor (or by hand) and combine with melted butter. Press the mixture into the tin and chill for 15 minutes. Then proceed with the chocolate and caramel layers as normal ;)
if u want a real caramel just put the can of Sweetened Condensed Milk in big a container of boiling water, leave the canned product boiling in the pot for an hour, then leave the canned product cool outside for an hour, open the canned and u will find very tasty caramel :),enjoy
@stralight321 You can use any chocolate suitable for melting. Try looking in the baking needs aisle at your local supermarket. It may be called "Compound Chocolate"
