  • I was in the Cornell Space Science Building watching this, Pretty cool. Frankly, i was even more excited about going to the third floor to use Carl Sagan's bathroom. ;-)

  • i bet steven spielberg is in the next room

  • That's cool they accomplished this. But it's too little after

too much time. Just about what's the point? Oh yeah, pres.

asshole cut back on NASA funding. So forget about anything

else until him and vp dicksuck leave.

  • Another fake project to play tricks on the masses!

  • it's like their watching a football game, "60 meters, 30 meters, 20 meters, standby for touch down.. touch down!!!

  • Dear NASA scientists: Can we borrow your trillions of taxpayer dollars to fight hunger on Earth?, who the fuck cares about a bunch of rocks when children in our planet are starving to death?

  • It's not like the money evaporates. It flows into the rest of the economy through all the various employees and services that are paid for. The military budget is a better target for your questions. Searfch Youtube for "Carl Sagan - On Mars & The Excluded Middle" and you'll have your answer.

  • fake!

  • I fucking care about those rocks. Also I pay taxes in the U.S and I don't want my money to be thrown away to a poor country.

  • AGREED.

  • when the planet is about to DIE or aliens make peace or invade. or we need to find a new planet.. YOU will then know why we pay money to go to MARS . Humans cant just stay on Earth for ever

  • i was watching this LIVE! amaaazing!

  • I saw that live on daily planet. I was high and shit myself. Not joking.

  • Secondly, the goal of humanity should not be simply to create as many people as possible, but to fulfill human potential. If poor people would stop having babies for which they cannot properly care, everyone would be better off. The U.S. govt currently gives billions in aid to the poor, and Americans give billions more privately.

I want some of my tax dollars to go for space exploration. Missions such as the Phoenix Mars lander represent money well spent.

  • The people in that room (or their colleagues at ESA) are the ones controlling the Phoenix Lander, the satellites orbiting Mars, and the communications relay stations on Earth. They know exactly what is going on, on what is going on is that THE FARGIN' LANDER IS SAFELY DESCENDING ONTO THE SURFACE OF MARS. It's not in a desert in the U.S..

  • They are actors, jeez...

  • Look how happy they are. The dont know

that the Probe is somewhere in the desert

    on Planet EARTH.

  • your an idiot

  • pimp smack this guy back to reality... yea, Nasa lies... but wake the hell up!

  • ...and I think my job is stressful!!!

  • Well done NASA! LassVegas you should sell the computer you used to type out your stupid comment and give that to the kids.

  • Congratulations!

  • thanks man for posting this. NSA rocks!!

  • congrats NASA :D

  • 0.5% of the money from america goes to this

like 5% goes to all those poor countries

  • i agree and disagree

we shold be more focused on our planet BUT we could easily do both EASILY... its greed and meterialism that hurts us.

  • YYEAHH!!

  • Fantastic. The ice on the northern part of Mars might provide very interesting data.

  • LETS HOPE SO! pisses me off the thing has no &^*)ing wheels. Brilliant, i dont care if it is a "support" mission... stationary for what????!

  • I have always been interested in Mars, and this Is very exciting i must say.

  • Wohaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is fantastic! :D
