I set my upload limit to 40 KB per second. This keeps my feed back into the pool @ an acceptable level. uTorrent works by splitting a given file into parts, and further splitting those parts into blocks. the moment you download a block, uTorrent then recognizes your node as a possessor of said block and uses you as a point to feed said block and all successive parts back into the download pool for others to get.

Bit meter shows that uTorrent clearly uploaded more than twice the amount downloaded.
