Well jhaul21 I think something is going wrong because It certainly looks bright and loud from his 'proximity' and he's not wearing any eye or ear protection, so gradually, with the many of number demonstrations, he's going to loose allot of 'capacity' in those two senses. Keep telling yourself that. Did you know: it's not the voltage that kills you, it's the amperage! you can have 100,000 volts @ .01 amps, and you will only feel it burn your skin slightly.
