I remember seeing this movie in the theater when if first came out I was BLOWN AWAY by the opening scene of that huge star destroyer coming across the screen if by chance you ever get the chance to see in on the big screen ........DO IT !!! you'll be glad you did
@jarfilled Yeah, the 3D releases are going to kill the majesty of that opening shot. Like Plinkett says, "The shot is so good, I believe George Lucas had nothing to do with and argued against its inclusion in the film." :)
if there is any sense left in the greedy capitalistic mind of lucas, he should try to produce and only produce part 7,8 and 9 and leave the directing to the guys who made this magic trilogy, notice how nothing of the footage is used in this clip of the crappy new trilogy. Lucas finish what you started in the way you began it, and that means leave the directing and all the rest to able man who understand the true magic of star wars, all you have to do is open your big fat wallet and then go
My friends and I still watch and talk about this video all the time. This is seriously one of, if not the greatest videos on youtube. You sir are a genius and we thank you for this amazing video.
i love this mix, wish there was a whole movie mix of this it is so much more dramatic, sorry john williams, but that spagetti music is so fitting, awesome job love it.
Well, whatever the reason, whatever the arguments as previously posted here, I know what I like, and I fucking like this. Great job. I'll be watching this a lot and introducing it to a lot of people. The music just GOES, and the editing is film quality.
Who can't get this?! It's not a trailer...and it's NOT a recap of the entire saga. The Name With No Name was a "gun fighter"....a "loner"....and sorry folks...but ALL of Stars Wars can be summed up right here. Star Wars is about a boy and his father....period! This video captures it in PERFECTION! Nothing needs to be changed here....I could watch this forever. It completely embodies what the saga was truly about. Again...GREAT job! ;)
Awesome! I like both Leone's movies and Star Wars! Great idea to put Morricone's music and Star Wars sabre duels together! Well done, very well, obviously the force has been with you while making this mix ;)
I am surprised to see that 9 poor souls disliked this video. Loosers.
@VtochkaGtochka thanks, im glad you liked it.... im lucky people are still finding this video since it was posted a few years ago... it was a lot of fun to put together...
Love it. Well done. Just finnished the watching the full video. pure class mate. i think thats the first time iv heard music other than john williams that actually goes with star wars..made me want to watch the orignals again :)
it was a beautiful fusion of one of the greatest movies ever filmed and one of the greatest film compossers to ever live. I had my doubts at first, but this is amazing!!
I love this type of creativity, the kind that has remembering what we loved about some original piece brought to life from another person's perspective.
I heard this song again after several years, And I thought about setting it to star wars, thankfully I checked this vid out first, and I am impressed. But It wouldent kill you to have clips from the epic space fights there as well would it? Especially when the music gets intense, No trailer for a western only shows the duels, but also some of the horseback stunts(speeder bikes?) and a gunpowder explosion(deathstar). But it shows how western inspired Star wars was, something Lucas has forgotten.
i liked it at the beginning, but no offense it just became too much. It turned into just segments of every single lightsaber duel, and none of the other important characters are to be found.
@cowboysfan28 thanks, honest feedback is the best. My goal with this video was to focus only on the story of Luke Skywalker, while showing the various duels in non-linear time, his battles with Vader were timeless, as if they were all happening at once, while using Morricone's music since Lucas had suggested in the past the influence Ennio had on the musical scope he had wanted for his films. So I treated the duels as a Sergio Leone Gunfight. In the future I should do a video just on Han Solo.
@DeathStrikeVirus good call, i had tried to do a version that incorporated both songs, but then that lead me to an idea to use the Trio for a video i was going to do about the pre-quels.... but im not much of fan of those films so i never did it....
Not going to lie, I absolutely love the actual Star Wars soundtrack and think it's perfect, but this is pretty fucking awesome, and would love to see what the movies would be like scored by Morricone.
It WORKS AWESOMELY instead! Since two of the main sources Lucas mined for his opus were western and samurai movies (which are into themselves extremely compatible as shown by "Seven Samurai" and "The Magnificen Seven").
