Poor Shelby, she has been barinwashed by the immoral mass culture and now she is on a crusade not only to denounce abstinence education but those who partake in abstinence. Abstinence education does indeed work and there is lots of proof that it does but which is marginalized and ridiculed by the mass liberal media. Sex has been reduced to a mere "bodily function" all for the sake of manipulating people into doing it, and, in the process, rack of mass profits for BigPharma.

I think that if anyone is being brainwashed it's the kids who are being forced to sit through abstinence only education. That provides nothing to kids except a FEAR of sex.

Striking fear into someone is just as bad as being ignorant to the fact that reguardless of YOUR religion, kids are still going to have sex. All abstinence only education is doing is raising teen pregnancy and STI rates

Abstinence education isn't about stopping people from having sex. That is a lie spread by the pro-sex ed advocates most of whom have financial profits to gain from having kids go out and sleep around. Abstinence is simply about delaying sexual activity until you're mature enough to handle it, preferably in a monogamous relationship. Abstinence only education has been proven effective by numerous studies like Dr John Jemmot's randomized study, which has been ignored by the liberal media.

I think that if you choose to wait until have sex until you are mature enough and in a monogamous relationship then congratulations. But like I said it is IGNORANT to think that just because someone comes to a highschool and preaches abstinence that even half of those children are going to listen.

In 2007, a study ordered by the U.S. Congress found that middle school students who took part in abstinence-only sex education programs were just as likely to have sex in their teenage years as those who did not. I don't understand how someone can argue with organizations like the American Psychological Association and the American Medical Association when they say sexual behavior after puberty (no matter if it's single, married, etc) is a given.

Thats the main reason that abstinence only education fails, because teenagers, who are at the most rebellious stage in their life, are highly unlikely to listen when their being talked to like children
