The Marines have very tough training. Air Force training is not easy at all. Why do we, as Americans, disparage any of the training our people undergo? Why do we ever say one of us is not as good as another? We are simply volunteering to do our very best for our country. Marines are very tough guys. So are Air Force PJs. So are Army Rangers. So is EVERBODY who puts on our uniform.
I was in service during a very unpopular war. My service number begins with RA.
Why do the recruits in ths USMC call the drill sergent "sir" while in the Army they call him "drill sergent"? I seem to remember seeing one vid about Army boot camp in which one recruit got yelled at by the drill sergent because he called him "sir".
@FrLawRE because until you receive your eagle, globe, and anchor you are not a marine yet. its not just the di's its all marines. and since you are not a marine you dont rate calling them or any other marine by their rank. also if you were to call a drill instructor a "drill sergeant" you would get an ass chewing like no other. see marine pride themselves of being better then the army. and in the marine corp they are called drill instructors and in the army theyre called drill sergeants.

They become like babies crying for their moms because they don't like getting yelled at to their face. So, If anyone does not like getting yelled at, Then it's best for them not to join if they can't handle it!

It's your NCO's and your SNCO's, and your fellow Marines doing countless drills so that when it is time, your muscles will know what to do while ur mind is doing the funky chicken. These men develope you with the foundation of the USMC docturine. Give credit to the NCO/SNCO/Marines for the life saving.

@lolahavasuaz Easy, the other DI's swarm him like angry hornets and the next thing he knows the MP's are hauling him away. There's no way they would let another DI get taken down. UFC or not you can't stop that many PO'd Drill Instructors. That and you aren't pushed into joining anymore - there's no draft.

I have seen many recruits take their shots at DI's, it never ends well. These men also work in teams, you may get your one good shot - but you can count on being swarmed. @lolahavasuaz DI's are extreamly fit. They have to stay intense through the entirety of boot camp. And once their recruits graduate, they go train more for another 3 months. DI's are not to be fucked with.

@akguitar94 Really can't go wrong with either my man. I'm in the army, and bootcamp is tough for both branches. Marines is a little tougher due to the length. Definettly stay away from the air force and the navy if youre looking for something thats going to push you. Good luck when you do go.

I don't know what there doing down there now, but when i was in (1999), we PT'd just as much as army/marine, the only difference I'll admit was the confidence course, which marine's win that one. having served on army/usaf/navy bases, they all Push the same during basic/AIT or whatever...

@Mautiks i enjoyed the same privilege at Ft. Leonard Wood, only all 5 branches are there. needless to say, it is an army base but it is 'owned' by the marines of the detachment there. even in student status they treated us as gods! lol.

Also, I understand that you spend 1 day firing the M16, which to me is hilarious because in MCRD we take our rifles everywhere (maybe because we actually use them). Also - the Chair Force recruits also were able to wear civilian attire in boot camp - Again, hilarious and a joke to the military. Boot camp is supposed to prepare you for the stresses of combat. The Air Force doesn't see combat though...

I'm certain you've been pretty content with enjoying the freedoms in this country men like we, the Marines, have sacrificed to defend and preserve. @akguitar94 Really can't go wrong with either my man. I'm in the army, and bootcamp is tough for both branches. Marines is a little tougher due to the length. Definettly stay away from the air force and the navy if youre looking for something thats going to push you. Good luck when you do go.

Im not going to hate on you because your a fellow serviceman, but you need to do a little research before you say it's not hard or doesn't push you. I don't know what there doing down there now, but when i was in (1999), we PT'd just as much as army/marine, the only difference I'll admit was the confidence course, which marine's win that one. having served on army/usaf/navy bases, they all Push the same during basic/AIT or whatever...

@ace73bug007 hahaha nice try dude - I was a SD Marine and I was stationed at Lackland - I saw 3 years of Air Force recruit training, and it was a fucking joke. We would occasionally PT on the recruit training side of base just to mindfuck the recruits.

@Mautiks i enjoyed the same privilege at Ft. Leonard Wood, only all 5 branches are there. needless to say, it is an army base but it is 'owned' by the marines of the detachment there. even in student status they treated us as gods! lol.

@Mautiks Im glad you had the availability to just stand around and watch the recruits all day, sounds like you actually did alot of training with them as you speak, or perhaps you actually just saw bits and pieces. Either way, like i said, back when i was there it was tough, you can say what you want, but I was actually the one doing it, not working....

@ace73bug007 I drove through base every day - and we also PT'd on the training side of base. Also, I understand that you spend 1 day firing the M16, which to me is hilarious because in MCRD we take our rifles everywhere (maybe because we actually use them). Also - the Chair Force recruits also were able to wear civilian attire in boot camp - Again, hilarious and a joke to the military. Boot camp is supposed to prepare you for the stresses of combat. The Air Force doesn't see combat though...

Fighting between forces makes you look like a complete moron and shows you lackr of training and support for the Armed Forces. EVERY force has people that do paper work and non combat jobs. The army has more boats than the navy, the navy more planes than the Air force, the marine more gays than all put together so shut the fuck up about which one is better.

The Air Force is a fucking disgrace to the US Armed Forces. I was once in a joint environment and saw a dumb fucking Air Force cumslut get caught outside while colors played. She had no fucking clue what to do. She didn't salute, she didn't go to attention, she walked around like a chicken with her head cut off. It was pathetic.

@SacredSocietyAP I agree and in my opinion from my previous military experience I personally think the whole my branch is the best and your branch sucks attitudes need to stop. We as fellow servicemen, no matter what branch, need to stop this garbage. We cant work together very well during a war if we are too busy hating on or fighting with our own people.Rather its the army, marines, air force, coast guard, etc we need to remember that we all for the most part signed up for the same reasons.

(2) yes, 1x with M16, all we needed (3) no combat? such an ignorant statement i don't have to comment. (4). You Sir, are a complete disgrace to anyone who wears a uniform and proudly serves the USA.
