The interesting thing is that without kinect xbox would be going south fast. With kinect Microsoft has shown their genius and opened a brand new market. Now looking at the ps3 hardware, it is definitely superior, but I don't believe that Sony had fully integrated their software. Hopefully Sony will catch up and immigrate their software to include their move and upcoming ps vita hardware.

People will always keep arguing about this, but the cell chip thats inside the PS3 was actually an obsolete processing chip used in NASA's mission control computers. This chip got sold on the open market, and Sony just happened 2b the ones who bought it. The only problem is this chip is still too far ahead for games developers to use, so no-one has really worked on it yet. This is the only problem Song has with the PS3 at the mo, need 2 unlock its gull potential.

I'll give a very good argument as to Y I believe PS3 is better in every way than the Xbox360. The PS3 uses the "Cell" chip. This is quite ahead of its time for consoles. And If Sony were to actually use the Full Potential of this particular Chip, the processing power they would get out of it would be Immense. Only trouble is, Sony dont buy out their developers like Xbox do, secondly with all this "Third Party" shit, developers wont work with the Cell chip, because they want2 make a game for both
I NOT a fanboy, I own both consoles, and I like what they both have to offer. At the start I'll admit PS3 didnt get of to a good start, but I do think now PS3 is starting to come into its own. They are producing their "Own" great games (which I think Xbox does not do enough), like WKC, God of War, Killzone, Uncharted, and Heavy Rain. And I PS3 is investing in "Motion Gamplay" and the whole "3D" thing so I think PS3 is doing well.

Yes, PS3 is the most futuristic of the current consoles. Yes, Sony has been the most dominant brand in the industry for the past two console generations. However, aside from those pure facts (HDMI, 1080p, blu-ray, etc.) the rest is fanboy drivel. Now here's some of my own: Before Sony, there was Nintendo. And Sony has *never* dethroned Nintendo in the handheld gaming department. Ever. Even when PS2 was kicking Gamecube's ass. So the PSP shit is just more fanboy drivel.
Wii is just as much of a next-gen console as the rest, seeing as... you know, the other two are now following in Nintendo's footsteps... again. Nintendo has been pioneering console gaming since '85. Your Playstation Dualshock controller took both the analog and the rumble function from the N64 controller. Nintendo was the first to implement the analog for 3D gaming as well as force feedback, which is now standard among all consoles.
History repeats itself. Nintendo re-invents console gaming, everybody else follows suit. Nintendo IS console gaming. Nintendo is strictly a game company. The other two are giant corporations with their hands in many different things. Nintendo actually *makes* games, kiddy as they may be. The same in-house developers who design their games, also design their consoles and controllers. And Sony is in last place in this generation, and I'm kinda glad. They need to be humbled a bit.
And these are also facts. And before everybody comes in and totally rips my head off, I just want you to know I own all three, and I realize that the Wii is far from perfect. PS3 has been releasing hit after hit and Q1-Q2 of 2010 seems to continue this. Ninty has the new Wii Zelda coming out for holidays 2010 hopefully, and I hope they continue releasing titles like no more heroes and masamune, but other than that, they get the most shovelware outta the 3.

Halo: Reach looks good to even though I'm not that psyched for it yet a prequel is heading in the right direction as far as I am concerned. The 360 is going to have one hell of a 2010 as will Sony but I have my eye on quite a few 360 titles.

Actually, about the analog on the controller and its implementation. Sony had actually announced it previous to Nintendo as well as the patent done previous to nintendo. Yes ninty released the product first but by no means did Sony copy it at all. And mario 64 was the third true 3D game behind 2 PS1 titles.

Dunno what you're talking about. Lately I been mostly playing killzone 2 and I am in game within seconds, and no I don't have a T1 or T3 connection, just standard cable lol. I've also been able to join games instantly for uncharted 2. the PSN has absolutely improved dramatically to what it was and fairly close to what Live currently is, with the exception that I don't pay for it. you xbots are getting robbed, just like they robbed you blind for that 60$ expansion called ODST
True PSN has dramatically improved yet I still find XBL to be better overall and definitely worth paying for. XBL has a better layout, better comunication features, easier to stay connected with your friends and send messages.

The only thing XBL has is cross chat. I can still send messages while playing KZ2 (although I try to wait till I am scout so i can hide/cloak before typing to people). facebook and all the other tiny things xbl has the psn has (which i tend not to care for). I can go online at a fast rate and start playing/talking shit, etc. So basically 50$ for cross chat? no thank you. the XBM has an organized layout, so the "better" xbl is something you are already used to, but not better.
LOL still send messages while playing KZ2 and you have to wait until you are hidden to send one that sounds like more of a hassle than anything. The $50 is deifnitely worth the XBLA titles and Indie games. The Indie games are refreshing.
From using XBL a lot after purchasing my PS3 and logging into PSN, yeah XBL is much better, faster, and much more streamlined that you dont have to give it a second thought, but if you dont know XBL than you will think PSN is great.

Graphics contribute a lot to a game, if they didnt, why do Xbox fans themselves go on about such games as GOW, and Mass Effect, that do have good graphics. Third party support is important to all the consoles... perhaps even moreso to Microsoft but then again Microsoft has only been into consoles for 8 years and the original Xbox was more of an experiment for MS than anything. Sony hit the ground running with Playstation and so did Nintendo with the NES in the mid 80's, naturally SOny and Nintendo would have a more established 1st party support.

you can get a good PC with a higher end video card for roughly 600$ (launch price of PS3), and it will be good enough to play Crysis on almost max settings. I use my PS3 controller on my PC and I have played lying down (yes VGA cables to my 46inch). So yea, you can be a couch potato on your PC if that's your thing. Now for FPS I would sit at my PC for keyboard mouse usage
a good PC for $600 no way, already tried that, you may get a 256MB or 512MB vid card but you get a shitty processor like a Sempron or a Dual-Core forget that.

Go to newegg dot come and you can build a good gaming pc for around the 600$ price point. When tired from school and work, lying down is a great way to play rofl. sitting in a couch also with freedom as opposed to confined at the PC. But still I prefer FPS on PC over console unless they decide to add keyboard mouse support.

AMD does a better job than intel when it comes to duo core, but I don't think AMD does quad (I haven't kept up for about a year or so). You can get an Nvidia 9600gt card at a very good price at newegg, along with better ones at LEAST at 512, some decent 1gb that would play Crysis near max. Windows 7 is suprisingly a good OS in all aspects. A system with DDR2 is still decent but I would go DDR3. A 2gb system would be good to play anything, for space, 250gb is good.
Just check the deals at target for externals, I thiiiiiiiiiiiiink they had a 2 TB external at 60$. that shit was a steal but I don't have the money. newegg might have something decent also.

KZ2 multiplayer is in depth (you would know if you bothered unlocking all classes and all abilities, etc). You'd be the first 360 owner that would scoff at god of war3 (even loads of 360 fanboys would kill for it). Hmm I forgot about Agent. I assume you're not an rpg fan so won't bother mentioning those, granted WKC has georama like DC1-2, which you can also have in multiplayer (innovative), where those who come into your game can get quests and items unique to your game,etc.
To be honest I only played the demo of KZII and I didnt even finish it because I got bored lol, its a great game no doubt but it just isn't the type of game I can become addicted to. In my past couple weeks with PS3, here are some annoyances: Mandatory installs, they suck.
When downloading something ... it downloads the file than installs it whereas on XBL and 360 it downloads and installs at the same time so its ready to play immediately.
The general assumption goes not based on speculation but based on sales given the bigger install base the 360 has. A game like SO4, had it come as a ps3 exclusive like it once was on the 360, it would have sold more, just as IU sold poorly. 360 is associated with shooters in general terms, whereas ps3 is being more associated to the contrary based on the sony brand tradition. Truth be told, jade empire, kotor and advent rising were great xbox games that went overlooked.

Even though you have the whiny adolescents buying up Halo and Gears, there is much more to be had a on 360 besides the 'shooter' genre.
The shooter genre has been increasingly more and more popular Halo was release, just as GOWIII coming out soon has spawned me2's like Bayonetta and Dantes Inferno. These people want to get in on a piece of the pie, no doubt.
I saw Bayonetta as somewhat overrated in terms of the perfect score Famitsu gave it, and I lost faith in them. Granted it's a good game but not the second coming like they make it seem those perverts. Demo of Dante's was ok. I had more fun with GoW3 because they kept the formula with some nice enhancements especially on the button press events. I LOVED how button location on screen mimics control scheme so you can pay more attention to the action.

Amazon usually has decent deals for those harder to find games and free shipping half the time. I got mine pretty much when it came out. You also want to check out Valkyria Chronicles. Like Demon's Souls, it can be considered a niche game in itself, but it's one hell of an rpg. I borrowed it but couldn't finish it on time and I regret not having bought it (soooo hard to find in AZ, can't wait to move back to NYC soon).

Honestly, I could care less about Dante's Inferno and Bayonetta and GOWIII even though I know it will be good, its just not the type of game I really enjoy.
For PC, I'd really just like to get one from retail, seeing as I have no clue really how to build one.
I'd be most interested in running Strategy and Simulation games like Sins of a Solar Empire, Civ IV, Simcity 4, Supreme Commander 1 and 2 etc.
GOW3 has the makings for a truly epic story that continues what the previous ones started and the minigames seem even more polished. DI and bayonetta don't interest me in the least though. For PC I have been using NeoRage rofl, I like to sit around and play some KoF and Fatal Fury, along with Metal Slug games once in a while. I do wanna play Crysis, starcraft (I miss that game) and maybe some zombie panic source again.
Yes I have no doubt that GOWIII will be epic for fans of the action/adventure genre as Uncharted 2 was/is. I watched my brother play Uncharted 2 over thanksgiving, its a game I'd rather watch than play, I like games where you must pause and think and action games are too twitchy feeling to me yet I still appreciate them.
Even so, Call of Duty has the most players on it thru Xbox Live, a service that requires an annual fee. Its more popular on XBox Live than it is on PS3's PSN, which is a free service. I think that says something right there.
There are better looking games than GOW now and Halo 3 was supposed to look better than it does, and Mass Effect has some technical glitches yet the gameplay holds them all up for years to come.
The fact that Halo 3 came out 2 years ago this September and is still being played a lot #2 most played game on XBox Live as of last month says that the gameplay stands on its own, graphics fade, gameplay lives on.

Sony's goal has alwasy been in the future. If u compare the xbox and the ps2, then u can see which 1 is more compact, stylish, and has better hardware (PS2). The interesting thing is that without kinect xbox would be going south fast. With kinect Microsoft has shown their genius and opened a brand new market. Now looking at the ps3 hardware, it is definitely superior, but I don't believe that Sony had fully integrated their software. Hopefully Sony will catch up and immigrate their software to include their move and upcoming ps vita hardware.

People will always keep arguing about this, but the cell chip thats inside the PS3 was actually an obsolete processing chip used in NASA's mission control computers. This chip got sold on the open market, and Sony just happened 2b the ones who bought it. The only problem is this chip is still too far ahead for games developers to use, so no-one has really worked on it yet. This is the only problem Song has with the PS3 at the mo, need 2 unlock its gull potential.

I'll give a very good argument as to Y I believe PS3 is better in every way than the Xbox360. The PS3 uses the "Cell" chip. This is quite ahead of its time for consoles. And If Sony were to actually use the Full Potential of this particular Chip, the processing power they would get out of it would be Immense. Only trouble is, Sony dont buy out their developers like Xbox do, secondly with all this "Third Party" shit, developers wont work with the Cell chip, because they want2 make a game for both

I NOT a fanboy, I own both consoles, and I like what they both have to offer. At the start I'll admit PS3 didnt get of to a good start, but I do think now PS3 is starting to come into its own. They are producing their "Own" great games (which I think Xbox does not do enough), like WKC, God of War, Killzone, Uncharted, and Heavy Rain. And I PS3 is investing in "Motion Gamplay" and the whole "3D" thing so I think PS3 is doing well.

Yes, PS3 is the most futuristic of the current consoles. Yes, Sony has been the most dominant brand in the industry for the past two console generations. However, aside from those pure facts (HDMI, 1080p, blu-ray, etc.) the rest is fanboy drivel. Now here's some of my own: Before Sony, there was Nintendo. Wii is just as much of a next-gen console as the rest, seeing as... you know, the other two are now following in Nintendo's footsteps... again. Nintendo has been pioneering console gaming since '85. Your Playstation Dualshock controller took both the analog and the rumble function from the N64 controller. Nintendo was the first to implement the analog for 3D gaming as well as force feedback, which is now standard among all consoles.

Just like ninty had to get humbled for 2 generations. Yet the quality of their games has gone to shit (360 and ps3 are also victims of stupidity but to a worse degree thnx to FPS inflation). PS3 has been releasing hit after hit and Q1-Q2 of 2010 seems to continue this. Ninty has the new Wii Zelda coming out for holidays 2010 hopefully, and I hope they continue releasing titles like no more heroes and masamune, but other than that, they get the most shovelware outta the 3.

What about the 360? DId you see the latest Mass Effect II trailer from the VGA's? Amazing. Halo: Reach looks good to even though I'm not that psyched for it yet a prequel is heading in the right direction as far as I am concerned. The 360 is going to have one hell of a 2010 as will Sony but I have my eye on quite a few 360 titles.

Actually, about the analog on the controller and its implementation. Sony had actually announced it previous to Nintendo as well as the patent done previous to nintendo. Yes ninty released the product first but by no means did Sony copy it at all. And mario 64 was the third true 3D game behind 2 PS1 titles.

"all about the games" , ok, so we can disregard MGS4 which also has a solid multiplayer, LBP same thing, Killzone 2 good solo campaign, amazing multiplayer, demon's souls, infamous, uncharted 1, uncharted 2 (has great multiplayer), resistance 1 and 2. These just being the titles I currently own. I can't wait for White Knight Chronicles, Heavy Rain, God of War 3, GT5, MAG,Final Fantasy Vs 13 (yes it is exclusive unlike regular XIII). Natal in itself is an interesting concept but it's mainly for A: niche market seeing as the Wii has been dominating that and the casuals, B: the 360 fanboys who will buy it and abuse it for a week or 2 then let it collect dust. I agree I prefer controllers myself yet I still maintain an open-mind to new technologies. Natal would be another step further than the Wii and PS3's new motion controller in that YOU play as the controller.

Dunno what you're talking about. Lately I been mostly playing killzone 2 and I am in game within seconds, and no I don't have a T1 or T3 connection, just standard cable lol. I've also been able to join games instantly for uncharted 2. the PSN has absolutely improved dramatically to what it was and fairly close to what Live currently is, with the exception that I don't pay for it. you xbots are getting robbed, just like they robbed you blind for that 60$ expansion called ODST

The only thing XBL has is cross chat. I can still send messages while playing KZ2 (although I try to wait till I am scout so i can hide/cloak before typing to people). facebook and all the other tiny things xbl has the psn has (which i tend not to care for). I can go online at a fast rate and start playing/talking shit, etc. So basically 50$ for cross chat? no thank you. the XBM has an organized layout, so the "better" xbl is something you are already used to, but not better.

LOL still send messages while playing KZ2 and you have to wait until you are hidden to send one that sounds like more of a hassle than anything. The $50 is deifnitely worth the XBLA titles and Indie games. The Indie games are refreshing.

Yeah, I can imagine. People moan about PS3 size, but Its a real pro for playing and running smooth games on. You hardly get a squeak out of that thing, and I've played Fallout3 on it for over 6hrs. I so agree with this guy, everyones going on bout the Xbox now, but in years to come the PS3 is going to suprise a lot of people, Theres a lot of hardware in that console, thats going to take a few years to ferment. The Blue Ray format is something that cant be copied (not in a long time), and can hold more. I like Xbox, but i hate how the fans go on, with all the hate.

I dont hate the PS3 and I will get one in a couple more years when I find something that appeals me like a great RTS game or RPG that isnt multiplat but as history has showed us and more than ever in this console 'war', graphics dont win the war, games do and the Wii is leading yet it has a shitload of 'shovelware', between 360 and PS3, the 360 is winning with high software sales and hardware sales and Xbox Live. The 360 is identified as the console for online gaming like it or not.

Graphics contribute a lot to a game, if they didnt, why do Xbox fans themselves go on about such games as GOW, and Mass Effect, that do have good graphics. Even if its is doing better now, that is only because it is feeding off third party games. If you took these away from Xbox, It wouldnt really have a leg to stand on. I mean what is the most popular Xbox live game at the moment? COD? and didnt that start out on PS/PC??

I didnt say that graphics didn't contribute a lot to a game. all I said was gfx have never won any console war...xbox had better gfx than PS2, N64 had better GFX than PS, PS3 and Xbox 360 have way better GFX than the Wii - GFX have never been a sole focus, however, gameplay is always the focus. Most popular game on XBL... hmm well just last week it was an aracade game - Battlefield 1943!, Halo 3 is always being played.
Call of Duty was always multiplatform.

Never the less, GOW wouldnt be as popular as it is, if it werent for graphics, same with Mass Effect and Halo3, mainly 360s strongest games, that are their own (Kind of). And you can try and sideline COD, but its still one of the most popular Live games on there, maybe not to you. My point about "Third Party", still stands.

Third party support is important to all the consoles... perhaps even moreso to Microsoft but then again Microsoft has only been into consoles for 8 years and the original Xbox was more of an experiment for MS than anything. The 360 is a successful console for them. Sony hit the ground running with Playstation and so did Nintendo with the NES in the mid 80's, naturally SOny and Nintendo would have a more established 1st party support.

Im trying to look at consoles in terms of offering all round games in a selection of genres. Your point seems one sided, If you favor this genre, why not just stick to PC? who do absolutely everything better than Xbox360 in terms of RTS.

Pc does everything better than 360.... I dunno a console is definitely more convenient than a PC, not to mention THE PRICE.... other than that we are talking consoles not PC's, a PC is not in direct competition with the consoles, if that were the case everyone would have a PC not a PS3, 360, or Wii, but I dunno if you could get anything on the PC like the Wii.
Though they may be watered down, its to be expected, I still get some enjoyment from them..I use my Mac for Simcity 4, Civ 3, etc..

you can get a good PC with a higher end video card for roughly 600$ (launch price of PS3), and it will be good enough to play Crysis on almost max settings. I use my PS3 controller on my PC and I have played lying down (yes VGA cables to my 46inch). So yea, you can be a couch potato on your PC if that's your thing. Now for FPS I would sit at my PC for keyboard mouse usage

a good PC for $600 no way, already tried that, you may get a 256MB or 512MB vid card but you get a shitty processor like a Sempron or a Dual-Core forget that.
Cant get a truly decent PC for anything less than $850.
Thats why we have consoles to game on.

Go to newegg dot come and you can build a good gaming pc for around the 600$ price point. When tired from school and work, lying down is a great way to play rofl. sitting in a couch also with freedom as opposed to confined at the PC. But still I prefer FPS on PC over console unless they decide to add keyboard mouse support.

And why use monitor when I have a spare 37 inch for that? btw, depending on what state you are in, you can get GOOD free working monitors that companies and some computer stores get rid of, just check craigslist man. Like in nyc for example they are fairly easy to find. An acquaintance of mine got one around 19 inches or 21, some crap like that, pretty good quality lcd.

Even still I had a question when building a good gaming rig AMD or Intel? Nvidia or ATI? and how many megs of RAM would be good enough to run everything well.
I love OS X, I love Mac but the downside is I cannot enjoy the games I would like to play on PC so thats why I am interested.

AMD does a better job than intel when it comes to duo core, but I don't think AMD does quad (I haven't kept up for about a year or so). You can get an Nvidia 9600gt card at a very good price at newegg, along with better ones at LEAST at 512, some decent 1gb that would play Crysis near max. Windows 7 is suprisingly a good OS in all aspects. A system with DDR2 is still decent but I would go DDR3. A 2gb system would be good to play anything, for space, 250gb is good.

WHile Killzone 2 is pretty good, its also pretty GRAY. KZII isnt the end all be all of FPS's this generation!
Get over it. All those game you listed are great games and I appreciate them they just arent the type of game I can really get into. I watched my brother play Uncharted 2 because the gameplay itself is something I'd rather watch than play but its still an amazing game.
I am looking forward to Red Dead Redemption, Tropico 3, Supreme COmmander 2, Mass Effect 2 , Battlefield Bad Company 2.

KZ2 multiplayer is in depth (you would know if you bothered unlocking all classes and all abilities, etc). You'd be the first 360 owner that would scoff at god of war3 (even loads of 360 fanboys would kill for it). Hmm I forgot about Agent. I assume you're not an rpg fan so won't bother mentioning those, granted WKC has georama like DC1-2, which you can also have in multiplayer (innovative), where those who come into your game can get quests and items unique to your game,etc.

To be honest I only played the demo of KZII and I didnt even finish it because I got bored lol, its a great game no doubt but it just isn't the type of game I can become addicted to. In my past couple weeks with PS3, here are some annoyances: Mandatory installs, they suck.
When downloading something ... it downloads the file than installs it whereas on XBL and 360 it downloads and installs at the same time so its ready to play immediately.

The general assumption goes not based on speculation but based on sales given the bigger install base the 360 has. A game like SO4, had it come as a ps3 exclusive like it once was on the 360, it would have sold more, just as IU sold poorly. 360 is associated with shooters in general terms, whereas ps3 is being more associated to the contrary based on the sony brand tradition. Truth be told, jade empire, kotor and advent rising were great xbox games that went overlooked.

lol This is true yet you can consider me an exception to that rule. Jade Empire, and Kotor were two of my most favorite games on XBox.
Even though you have the whiny adolescents buying up Halo and Gears, there is much more to be had a on 360 besides the 'shooter' genre.
The shooter genre has been increasingly more and more popular Halo was release, just as GOWIII coming out soon has spawned me2's like Bayonetta and Dantes Inferno. These people want to get in on a piece of the pie, no doubt.

I saw Bayonetta as somewhat overrated in terms of the perfect score Famitsu gave it, and I lost faith in them. Granted it's a good game but not the second coming like they make it seem those perverts. Demo of Dante's was ok. I had more fun with GoW3 because they kept the formula with some nice enhancements especially on the button press events. I LOVED how button location on screen mimics control scheme so you can pay more attention to the action.

Amazon usually has decent deals for those harder to find games and free shipping half the time. I got mine pretty much when it came out. You also want to check out Valkyria Chronicles. Like Demon's Souls, it can be considered a niche game in itself, but it's one hell of an rpg. I borrowed it but couldn't finish it on time and I regret not having bought it (soooo hard to find in AZ, can't wait to move back to NYC soon).

Yeah I have been interested in Valkyrie Chronicles for awhile now, I'll get to it.
Honestly, I could care less about Dante's Inferno and Bayonetta and GOWIII even though I know it will be good, its just not the type of game I really enjoy.
For PC, I'd really just like to get one from retail, seeing as I have no clue really how to build one.
I'd be most interested in running Strategy and Simulation games like Sins of a Solar Empire, Civ IV, Simcity 4, Supreme Commander 1 and 2 etc.

GOW3 has the makings for a truly epic story that continues what the previous ones started and the minigames seem even more polished. DI and bayonetta don't interest me in the least though. For PC I have been using NeoRage rofl, I like to sit around and play some KoF and Fatal Fury, along with Metal Slug games once in a while. I do wanna play Crysis, starcraft (I miss that game) and maybe some zombie panic source again.

Yes I have no doubt that GOWIII will be epic for fans of the action/adventure genre as Uncharted 2 was/is. I watched my brother play Uncharted 2 over thanksgiving, its a game I'd rather watch than play, I like games where you must pause and think and action games are too twitchy feeling to me yet I still appreciate them.

There are better looking games than GOW now and Halo 3 was supposed to look better than it does, and Mass Effect has some technical glitches yet the gameplay holds them all up for years to come.
The fact that Halo 3 came out 2 years ago this September and is still being played a lot #2 most played game on XBox Live as of last month says that the gameplay stands on its own, graphics fade, gameplay lives on.

Sony's goal has alwasy been in the future. If u compare the xbox and the ps2, then u can see which 1 is more compact, stylish, and has better hardware (PS2). They were designing the Ps3 already after the release of the Ps2. and even though the ps3 came out later, u can clearly see which console has better support, reliability, and overall performance (PS3), Sony took their time with the console which proved to be a fabulous idea. Has the Ps3 been getting the Red Rings... NO. Ps3 is The Next Gen!
