@gernith Interesting you mention this, I just removed the walls the other day! It does still work, although much more susceptible to breeze, and the tornado doesn't gain as much speed with the walls. Still impressive, though.
Meatball, It's actually quite quiet, the only key producer of noise is the 4 blower fans in the top of the machine, pressurizing the pipes. It's quiet enough to leave going and not be disturbed by it, though.
Try putting the pressure for the PVC pipes at the bottom, the vortex will be a lot more stable and wont be as susceptible to drafts.
