Romney's company specialized in saving companies that were going under....his company would prescribe plans to keep the company alive and therefore still EMPLOYING. depending on the severity of the situation people were sometimes let go...thats business and the real world.. money doesn't appear out of nowhere when businesses are struggling. that's why people employ Mitt Romney to save their company's ass and in turn save jobs. think about it...

After I graduated from college and actually worked in the real world, I gained far more appreciation for people who worked in the industry rather then those who professed on college campuses. Mr. Goolsbee has never owned or ran a company, it is very arrogant for him to laugh at the accomplishments of Mitt Romney. And showing their true characters; Goolesbee gives immature mocking laughs, while Romney politely deflects the insult.

Real world experience consists of alot more than owning and running a company, and Goolsbee has done alot more than just being a professor.

Mitt Romney's financial investments are closely tied to the Bush's. Goolsbee's laugh is a laugh of amazement that anyone would suggest having the Fox watch the chicken coop, not arrogance.

I looked at Prof. Goolsebee CV and I didn't see any real business experience, it was all academia. And how in the world is Mitt Romney's investments tied to Bush? Romney started Bain eons before he started having any political ambitions. Based on your opinion, if you don't gain real world experience by working, how do you gain it and how did Mr. Goolesbee gain his?

I had the info about the Romney-Bush financial link-ups when I was supporting Ron Paul, but I don't anymore. But if you poke around looking yourself, I'm sure you will learn some interesting and useful things...

All academia is not equal-G's MIT Ph.D. is realer than most. On experience, you shifted your goalposts. Of course I did NOT say you don't gain experience by *working*, just that *running a company* is not the only form of valuable "real world" experience. G advised on the US Budget.

At MIT most of the professors are involved in real research and consulting, resulting in lots of "real world" experience simultaneous to participating in academia. I'm sure the same applies to U. of Chicago, Goolsbee's present institution.

So, if the current OFHEO admin. cant supervise just little o Freddy and Fanny, what makes you thing they can do it without major reform???
