  • me encanta esta obra, gracias por compartirla

  • So beautiful

  • This clip, almost 10 times visitors and Breams. How come?

  • @goph999 She has nicer hair... :)

  • @FrankB1191 Look at Ana Vidovic's videos: over a million views is not uncommon.

  • not of this world.... to great wow miss you rock

  • ive heard this song and always wondered what it was now i know!!! finally!!!

  • Well, @MrRatzinger1986, Heike is as attractive looking as Diana Krall...I am sure in some ways you can agree with at that! And, I betcha even though Miss Krall might be a pianist and an acclaimed singer, she is not a classical guitar player.

  • muy bien guapa felicidades y oleeee tu arte ******

  • this DOES NOT SOUND OK

  • -> watch?v=Zab3aaqZnv8

    And practise more plz

  • Its worth all the time and effort when you end up being able to play pieces such as this with so much musicality. Ive heard Julian Bream and John Williams play this too. Marvellous tune and very well delivered.

  • Wow, I didn't know Diana Krall can play classical guitar also. Magnificent!

  • Very passionate,from the heart

  • Beautifully done.

  • Ok I suggest not to listen to segovia one after this....:-)

  • Grandmaster Andres Segovia:

    /watch?v=Zab3aaqZnv8&feature=related

  • Love it!

  • This is one of the most shameful attempts at guitar playing. If you want to hear (and see) how this piece should be played look for Andres Segovia's performance here on YouTube.

  • @Dicedude

calling something like this a "shame" is realy a shame !

there is no "way how it should be played" there are different kinds of guitarists and not everyone interprets songs the same way.

this does not mean the ones are good and the others are bad...

choose the one u like but dont flame the others with such stupid comments pls.

  • @12345bomber Contradicting yourself doesn't help your cause. The "stupid" comment is made by one who has no discernment, so all "interpretations" are valid.

  • i like Grondona's expression and nuances more than hers. he is much better.

  • This is a very beautiful piece, unfortunatelly not well understood by the performer and consequently very poorly played. She would have lasted about 5 seconds in a Segovia master, before the great master would have stopped her abruptly and said "my dear, your music does match your beauty, play something else that is easier

    "

  • Reading some of these negative comments makes me feel embarrassed to be a guitarist if people think we all insult each other like this. She is very pretty, and very talented.

  • What is the matter with you people.... Does critisizing others make you feel better....we should want to support other guitarists not tear them down.

  • She is not that bad , but i would advice her to find girlfriend in Sevilla and sneak at night in her garden and make serenade to her ... Then she will get expression every man has by its intuitivness.

  • what the h*ll, she needs to re-learn from the score.

  • That's cool. I don't even know why 71 ppl hated it. how emotional!

  • Oooof! Fullfilling! Good Music.

  • you need more practice !!!

  • this is very very bad interpretation

  • Well played with passion and precision. A joy to hear

  • beautiful.xoxoxoxox.

  • Beautiful!

  • This is gorgeous. The first time I heard this was Julian Breams "Espana" LP. Great Heike!

  • I'm really sorry, but she's not able to play any piece like I wanna hear it!

  • No emotion and too mechanical .

Sorry i just don't like this guitarist wonderful piece of music though,

  • Superba inetrpretazione

Afectuosamente: cdcattaneo

  • Thank you for sharing , a beautiful piece of music and a beautiful lady playing..

  • whenever anyone says spanish music, you all should say flamenco or andalussian, never spanish, because andalussian or flamenco music is not the only music from the peninsula, in other ways be precise, it is as stupid as tourists visiting spain and getting mexican hats, you foreigners confuse it all, by the way, spain is a state, not a nation (because one nation= one language; catala, euskera, etc)

  • @cony71 ¿?

  • @cony71 Te has lucido, catalufo.

  • she's ok

  • Sorry to say, but this isn't that amazing. There's this really amazing version that is PERFECT, while this has flaws. I mean it's great. She's quite talented, but it isn't the best most perfect performance.

  • @SilverUrbanForever agreed, i see all these people saying OMG its incredible.. but in all honesty it really just decent, especially around the 00:50 mark, she goes WAY to fast and there is no expression

  • nice : ] you single???

  • Spatious kitchen.

  • Recommended for everybody: read the story of Granados' death (there's an entry in wiki): terribely (literally) ironic, terribely sad.

  • will you marry me?

  • Heike Matthiesen is awsome!!

  • hermosa

  • I am in love

  • LA GUITARRA....

  • This is played beautifully, it shows a lot of emotion. :)

  • She played the guitar with such a true passion for music!

  • i love this

  • woman are wanderful play guitar

  • What the hell is doung Sobieski there?XD

  • Wow. So great. I can't say more words. Really.

  • To me it seems very odd that this piece was originally composed for piano. It sounds much more "at home" on the guitar, but both versions are nice.

  • I think its always good to listen to some other music, if you want some impressions for you own guitar-style. I wish i hadnt start with e-guitar :(

  • bravo

  • Oh my god.. i have only one word. Will you marry me???? this is so beautiful....when i listen to this and close my eyes and i can see heaven.

  • Bravo!! Es fantastico!

  • wow, this is one of the rare moments when a woman dosnt look in the mirror...

  • Very nice!

  • Hmmm. . .Nope. She does not understand this sort of music at all. I think it is not a matter to put the right finger on the right place at right time.

  • Comment removed

  • how long did it take to learn this peace perfectly?

  • I can't understand the rhythm .

    Better using Llobet's transcription.

  • Brava Heike!

  • ha! you haven't seen many girls play then.

  • Girls on guitars always sound slightly underpowered and anemic. At least on classical guitars that is. Compare this girl to Segovia's version and you will see what I mean!

  • @Rentaghost76 Iron deficiency for anemy?

  • Renta....I assume up to this point you may not have witnessed Ana Vidovic.

Take a look, you will not be dissapointed.

  • Yes it was written for piano, but the piano can't even come close to the expression, warmth and depth of feeling of the guitar. With few exceptions, Spanish music is always better on the guitar because the guitar embodies the soul of Spain. Now with Bach, Beethoven, ... the guitar is out of its element.

As to the comments about women guitarists not being as good as men ... they come from ignorance or basic sexism.

  • @dnworks You're an idiot. She is clearly good, but definitely not a world class player. And Bach's music on guitar sounds divine...that is because Bach's music is about ideas, and not about instruments.

  • @Benjiko People that know me do not think I'm an idiot ... but I'll leave that aside for now and just address your problem. It appears that the grace, beauty, peace and civility of this music cannot penetrate your reflexive, unprovoked, vitriolic attacks. I would recommend therapy in the form of listening to Bach's Chaconne (from violin partita) performed on the guitar by Julian Bream - a Bach work that is uniquely suited to the guitar. Hope that may soothe the savage beast within.

  • right. . .just like women can play the piano as well as men can. After all, men and women are structurally identical, therefore we wouldn't expect there to be differences in their abilities to play. . .

  • @dnworks

I disagree, Bach is equally beautiful on the guitar

  • @neolardo Yes, Bach is great on the guitar ... I've even posted a video where I play my transcription of the Sarabande from Bach's Cello suite #2 - BWV 1008 ( youtube.com/watch?v=oZCbC9mzvbQ ). But still, to my ears, the guitar seems to be more at home with spanish music, it has the 'colors' of Spain.

    Regards,

    Dimitrios

  • @dnworks

if you play spanish pieces , it has colors of Spain.

If you play Bach on it, it has colors of Bach and so on.

It would be a pitty, if the guitar would sound good only with spanish pieces.

  • @dnworks

There's plenty of women who play well, but this is not one. Her playing is stiff and she's flubbing notes all over. But the weirdest aspect is her complete lack of VIBRATO on Spanish romantic music. No fell for the tempo either. But I don't think it's a female problem.

  • @dnworks Lets talk about ignorance first... she doesn't even know how to hold the guitar. As far as sexism goes, that's an excuse by idiots who don't know a thing about Spanish guitar. She's nowhere near the league of Segovia.

  • @dnworks

bach sounds very very well on the guitar

some times even better then for the original instrument!

  • Hermosa interpretación.

  • hot girl, le gusta la española

  • tell that to xue fei yang!

  • ida presti...liona boyd...

  • well i think she can do it but the pieces are big for her skills but i think she are doing good dont be hard wiht her is just quiestion of study

them is spanish music is not easy

  • You are very pretty, and an awesome guitar player!!!

  • I had heard this song on piano and didn't know that it was meant for guitar. It sounds beautiful..

  • I think it was actually written for piano. If you really want a killer guitar version of this, there is a duet by two of the Romero brothers. Not on youtube unfortunately.

  • its meant for piano, its simply a transcription

  • heike must have had an "off "night. i wonder why she kept losing the time- she was all over the place. no rhythm. and quite sloppy, i must add. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying this is bad, just not a professional level performance. in her defence, though, her interpretation of the chaconne is very good!

  • I like the tempo's you choose for your pieces, and this one is excellent. slow enough to get plenty of feel, butstill with plenty of bounce.Avery good performance.

  • Beautiful! I wish I could play at just a 1% level of your tremendous skills.

An 80-year old admirer from White Rock, BC, Canada

  • Very cool, thank you for sharing :)

  • ¡ E S P L É N D I D O !

  • i'm impressed good job

  • she has developed, gotten like 100 times better, if not 1000. Look her "chaconne" version up.

  • The harmonics in the melody, simply magnificent.

  • Bien. Very nice. Saludos

  • I like it :) The speed changes are good, I often think they are done really bad in these pieces. Of course it's not played perfectly, but only few people can, so why always compare to the very best? Only one tip; get a better mic!

  • Guttar is good but she is very very good ..Hey girl wana marry me plz?If u dont mind

  • The mic is not in a good position. It need to be a little closer and a little further down the fretboard toward the soundhole. It takes a lot out of her performance.

  • great transition between harmonic sounds and strong.

  • She's really good. But I've grown up listening to John Williams. No one can live up to that!

  • Again another slopy version... First play it perfectly and you are capable to show to other people... this is my sincerily opinion...

  • i play the guitar since i was 11,..now im 17 and i just gonna say, i would like to play as easier as she, classical music must not sound totally perfect, cause we make our own interpretion, congratulations!, keep playing like that, ... a really awesome girl ;)

  • You are not reading my words right. I didn't say I'm jealous, which I'm not. Stop saying I'm bragging, cause I'm not. And if nobody cares about my opinion why are you typing so many words about it? ''We play classical better'', who is we and how could you know? ''I don't brag'', says the guy with ''acordmasters'' as a name.... Don't judge me if you don't know shit. By the way it's pathetic you have to use Capslock to express yourself

  • great player :) I can only day dream...

  • Hey "Lambospeedfreak" you are, indeed, a freak. You are bragging and telling us you could play better than this beautiful lady? Why don't you post your own video and see how you get dumped and hit with your own s-hit. It is just a musical performance on a guitar and anybody can interpret any music the way they want, with imperfections, mistakes and all. People like you should learn to appreciate or else stop watching a free video, understand???

  • First of all it's an opinion, second I never said I can play better then her. Comments are to comment, so if I think her interpratation doesn't sound nice, I can say that. And yes I'm actually playing this piece myself and no, I don't feel the need to post it on the web. She clearly does and then she has to accept the critic that will be written, and so should you. And what you say about appreciate? You are the one that should learn to appreciate people having an opinion.

  • Fantastico,sensacional interpretacion !!

  • bravo !!!

  • Good one ! I suggest you link this to DynamycDesi - they give awards to such talents

  • Well ... not bad but somewhat mechanical and stilted. While a high bar I just listened to the Julian Bream version which flows much better. The fact that Ms. Matthiesen's guitar is out of tune does not help.

  • I agree with that!

  • well the bream version is like heaven on a youtube video so i don't think it's fair to compare that with anything

  • i would be very proud and happy if that was my mom, my sister or even better my wife LOL.

  • While it is often associated with music of the Romantic Period, good classical performers frequently use it for emotional expressiveness and to enhance/idealize the rhythm(softening edges), while remaining stylistically viable and in good taste.

  • Tempo rubato is a musical term for slightly speeding up or slowing down the tempo of a piece at the discretion of the soloist or the conductor.

  • Mmm ,well Granados wrote in Andante - quasi allegretto not rubato ,it's strange how she use dynamics on second movement(6/8),it seems she doesn'nt read what te author wrote. I suggest to watch interpretation of M° Stefano Grondona to see how this piece should be played and not to teach me what rubato is. Please.

  • She does some strange things with the tempo in this vid...

I think im partial to interpretations that don't rush the part she plays at 1:50...It's so pretty; slow it down and smooth it out!

  • It's a little confusing with tempo.. need work

  • Is it true that there's an arrangment for this piece for two pianos (four hands)? I think I once played that..

  • Yes

  • very beautiful !

  • i love spanish guitar songs, they have that special "flare" idk why

  • Estoy enamorado. (I'm in love).
