Just beautyfull... it allways bring tears to my eyes and make my body warm... I wish that I lived somewere around the 50:s or 60:s in the U.S, back then 'The Land of The Free' acctually was beautyfull.
In the beginning where he says "ops" for saying (loud) that he was wondering where he was going to park, I couldn't help but feel really bad for him (and all black people back then).. Sure the music was pure gold but the racism was.. Bad.
@EliasFrostMusic Racism was very bad in those days, I agree. But even today Nat King Cole, I'm sure, wins over many White people when they her him sing and see his beautiful personality. However, I don't think his parking problem was because he was Black. Even today, me White as ever after 72 years, I still wonder "Where will I park?"
A retired Catholic priest. Hey, some of my best friends are White! I haven't seen my Black friends now for some 20 years. I'll call Vincent ASAP!
@HearWithoutPrejudice I remember watching his show/repeats. I think he had trouble weekly with sponsors, etc. Why could'nt they judge his music and NOT color?
@HearWithoutPrejudice It was just horrible how Nat King Cole was treated. And the terrible irony is that his talent should have been a beacon for acceptance. He was elegent, sophisticated, warm, charming, sincere. I sincerely hope he is aware of how many people still play his songs.
@Numinous20111 Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E was used in Parent Trap, with Lindsay Lohan,a few years ago ,and all the little kiddie's was singing his praises! TIMELESS!!!
1 thing my grandfather shared with me was his love for music and nat was his favorite artist with this being his favorite song.... my grandfather passed on in 2007 and every time i hear his song i still cry because i miss him so.. i love you grandpa ill see you in heaven <3
ok the person who said his voice was cause of smoking so what get a life is that why you were listening to this song to critique it wow you need something better to do try giving up the internet for a while go out and live a little.
i love theese live performances ,,, it just proves how , how fantastic is not a good enough word,,,, the utmost best ever nat cole was , and still is ,,
I'm 29 and loving Nat King Cole in 2011. My father, who was much older than most fathers my age, (He passed away 2 years ago) raised me on Nat King Cole. Everytime I listen to him I think of my dad. I have three children now of my own and there is hardly a night that I'm not singing at least one of them to sleep with "Mona Lisa", "Stardust" or "Unforgettable" . I hope they will do the same for their children someday.
@Proverbs1533 Interesting I'm not alone. How old was your dad? Mine is now 77 and thankfully still alive, myself I am 24... He taught my EVERYTHING about the 50s there is to learn, including his no.1 favorite artist, Nat King Cole. And I'm in love with him and the 50s just like my dad was, and hopefully just like my kids will be when I teach them about the Legend King Cole.
@D3mentor89 He is a really gifted singer, he just has a strong believe that smoking could enhance his voice, though it might be true; but despite that his amazing voice came from his talent (and practice); look at both of his daughters' beautiful voices. If you still insist about it, find some heavy smokers around you and ask them to sing, see if they have Nat's kind of voice.
I wish that everybody had an individual lifestyle, it's like no one ever wants to be themselves anymore. A lot of people just want to do what their friends or the people in the media do. To be honest, some people are very interested of very different people, especially me. :)
Just over 3 thousand views. Incredible. If any one person came onto American Idol or similar shows and sang like this..they would win hands down. This man had an incredible voice. He deserves more views than this for sure. If I could sing any song in history, with 'the' voice to my wife...this would be it.
A superb song, by a remarkable singer. Artist. That's what this man was.
