  • wiilover do you have anymore room on your friendlist? if so add me please. my code is 5112-4174-1369

  • Forget if you like owning physical media or not, the question is if you want Nintendo to fail. If you want them to fail, then yeah, go ahead and dislike the concept of downloadable retail games. If you want Nintendo to succeed however, you should really be cheerleading for Nintendo to hurry up and push day of downloadable retail releases. It's the direction that video games are going regardless if you personally dislike it. That's one of the big reasons XBL and PSN are popular with developers.

  • I think downloadable expansion packs are okay though. Especially for games like Animal Crossing that can get boring without new things getting put into them.

  • The Wii U wouldn't have enough room to store all of those games and save data....

  • I like owning the disk to. And soon we will get dlc for games what is cool and sucks! But I think nintendo will be smart about it. And gamefly does look good. And Netflix is handy time to time. $8 millions of movies to watch over your wii. Movies and tv shows.

  • Downloading is stupid, yeah but it depends if you have the memory for it. This is why discs are awesome.

I hope this is like, an optional thing... i'm sure it is?

I know what you mean, I like owning physical things especially music. I like owning my old fav SNES games for example as downloaded though, of course these won't be sold physically again, but I don't see a point for this concept for downloading NEW stuff... unless again, it's optional.

  • I can only see myself using this service for a select few games, but I might end up buying them twice out of fear of dropped service, which will look even more good to the company for selling those. I am the same way of liking and wanting boxes and manuals, it shows off your system in a lot better way then letting people scroll though your system and/or phone (that kind of has that, "hold my wallet" sort of uncomfortable feel.

  • @thepokekid01 If you have OnDemand and the premium channels you don't really need netflicks, it's basically the same thing.

As for content, if Nintendo releases new cups or characters in packs down the road after having full featured games, I'm all for dl'able content.

Still I'm not a fan of the trust issue in download only service. I'm not a person to just hand out trust and money, apps I buy on my phone are all cheap enough to what I don't mind loosing, but that's not true for $50 games.

  • the download is not a bad idea but they should still make the discs and 3ds carts and that stuff.

  • I think that nintendo is still going to sell games at stores. Downloading the games will just be an option for gamers who perfer downloading games.

  • How do you feel about emulators, Mr.Wiilover?

  • @milkwad I never use them.

  • @wiilover07 Good man.

  • I've been using steam for 3 years and I also have Origin for BF3. They are pretty good no complaints here unless you like to collect games and keep em for ever.

  • a download would be fine as long as you could save it on a drive of some kind

  • I love resident evil revalations box theirs little bits if red like blood inbetween the sqaures inside I don't won't download only games in future.

  • i don't do netflix because i don't have a credit card

  • I like having the option of buying either one, but I have to say DD is pretty convenient, especially on steam.

  • It's going to be optional bro. Personally, I'll be buyin retail Wii U games, downloading 3DS games.

  • (Continued)

It'll be about ten to twenty years before we see a console that's just download only or uses strictly cloud, no one is ready for it yet so it's going to be a while, but it's going to happen and that's the facts. It's better for developers and in the case of Steam, stops piracy. Will it be sad to see physical games go? Of course it will, but I won't stop gaming. I will probably make my own cases, and yes I am that anal about games, just the collector in me.

  • I'm the same way, I like owning my games, but at the same time I see it's advantages. The big one is that with a physical copy, the publisher sees like three dollars of every sale, the rest does to retailers and manufactures. When your game is download only, the publisher sees 100% of each sale. What's good about that is publishers would be more willing to try new things and bring over more obscure Japanese games, least I hope so.

  • As long as it is an option im okay with it. But, yea I like having the physical copy of the game.

  • i dont like thats because because wat if your systom crashes or some thing like that

  • I think this is a really stupid idea, and hope it doesn't happen for a long time. This is basically a big "Fuck you" to people with no working Internet connection or a Wi-Fi, seeing as they'll not be able to download games

  • aslong as its just an option im completely ok with it, i dont mind having both, since I have steam and a wii, this doesnt bother me

  • i think that it's a better thing for handhelds than it is for consoles, i mean i find it kind of annoying to have to get my case and carry it with me on a long trip.

  • fuck downloadable. no way in hell am i going to support these

  • its bad and good at the same time there will always be physical copies from what iawata said but there are some exclusives from 3rd party that will be DL only not nintendo games well retail games mini games no, and there are ppl that dont want to carry an arsenal of games with them on the go as for wii u only Ubisoft is on that road of DL Games only but check out my video

  • I love downloading game from Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and Apple. Rather than driving to store and ge the game. I can download a full game from my house. Downloading full 3DS games is a grear idea.

  • As long as they give us the option, I'm okay. If everything goes digital, I'm done.

  • We are heading in Digital download no matter what. I do agree it's to soon. Maybe next gen, and Microsoft is think making NextBox Digital download only, but that's a rumor right now. But, next gen after this upcoming gen will most likely be a Digital download gen. But, as for this upcoming Gen, No. It's too soon.

  • 1st video you've made that I agreed 100% with. Keep up the good stuff. Plz no more fanboy shit.

  • i would rather have physical copies since if i dont like it, i can just take it back

  • yes i agree but it's optional you can still buy the physical copy...

  • I agree, I like to have a physical copy to have as part of my collection & you also have something to show for what you pay (but I think its only going to be optional). The real problem is going to be dlc because the last thing I want is developers being lazy & releasing unfinnished games like capcom.

  • You will still be able to buy wii u games in the store if you don't want to download them like me. It's a great thing to have in the wii u even though i probably won't use it and by the way i heard you could transfer all your wii data to the wii u via club nintendo or something. but we don't have club nintendo here in Sweden so that sucks.

  • @supporteedcoffee It wont be through Club Nintendo. lol. It will be like the DSi transfer. I would not worry about it, I am 99.99% sure that everyone will easily be able to transfer Wii Shop downloads to the Wii U. Everyone seems to be worrying about this, but there's no reason to worry because they let us transfer DSi Shop downloads to the 3DS, so chances are the Wii U will do the same with Wii.

  • I think its great that the option is there, though personally, i do not support it. I will download DLC but never will i purchase a complete game from online. Unless its steam. I like being able to atleast hold the data that i purchased in my hands lol

Oh, an you made a video about specs an graphics or something didn't you? Being quite naive, ignorant an not fair. If quality does not matter to you sir, why the fuck do you have a collection of BluRays an not VHS?!?!? LOL

  • the hard drive would have to be huge for that too happpen i dont see nintendo releasing a system with a huge hard drive

  • well its only going to be optional. they still will be selling physical copies. its good that they have the option for those that would prefer digital download.

  • I totally agree.

I dont think they will do it. Nintendo has there own disk format to avoid pirating issues. if they go ahead and decide to convert to software downloads, they will definatley be losing a lot of profit from people downloading cracked games.

  • I love these videos and to answer the question at the end of the video, I don't really like the idea of having download full games. I like owning my copies like.. psychically too. but I think it's good for those who travel a lot and such like that. but yeah it's definately not for me.

  • i like touching video games physically also, and i reckon its dumb because these full retail downloads are fucking huge, and i don't think WiiU supports a huge hard drive unless you go to the store and buy a hard drive for the Wii U.

  • I agree with you fully :)
