  • Music is like a blow job, shut up and enjoy it.

  • Hey SunnyFreak12 if you want people to "shut up and enjoy the music" you shouldnt write a paragraph about it. No one want to hear your rant. We all enjoy the music whether we're religious or not.

  • @MidoriLeaf115 hey shut up and enjoy the music

  • everyone listen to @SunnyFreak12 shut up and enjoy the music.

  • JUST ENJOY THE FREAKIN MUSIC. <3

  • Luuvv Thisz Sonnq.!!!! <3

  • I am agnostic and completely anti-religion.. and i love this song

  • @candyforthesoul SOMEONE WHO GETS IT!!!!!!!!!! you my friend are a real winner

  • Comment removed

  • No way to put religion aside with this song. It's about God whether you like it or not. He exists, whether you like it or not. And the reason people don't like to have the subject pushed or as they feel "forced" upon them, is because that little voice inside their heart knows the matter is true. Human nature is naturally stubborn. Look around you. He exists.

  • @MrXenophen I actually thought to song was about someone who eitheir stays inside the house because they're agoraphobic, or lazy, or too shy to leave and are scared. And they want their crush/girlfriend to get them outside of the house for possibly one of the first times in their lives.

  • @MrXenophen

    That is your view point :o! I do not believe in God, nor do I choose to affiliate in any type of religion. I cannot stand when others push their views on me; that goes for both religions that believe in God, and atheists, because I like to have an open mind and be able to learn about others religions without their views and morals shoved down my throat. I hope this makes sense.. If not, just ignore my voice xD;

  • @MrXenophen Whether it's religious or no, who cares. It's a great song. I'm not religious, but when there's good music, you can love it without having an attached meaning or you can make your own interpretation of the meaning. The magic of music.

  • @andorvaelis forrrr real. music is so magical

  • @MrXenophen If God does exist, then why is there so much poverty, disease, death to all people who don't deserve it? Why is there war where millions of people die cruel, bloody horrible deaths, and then their families suffer for the loss for the rest of their lives. If God is out there, why does he allow all of this to happen? If he is all powerful why did he let thousands of people be killed in terrorist attacks? Where is your proof?

  • @Alexjd246 Because not only does God exist, but the Devil does too.

  • @Alexjd246 If everything was perfect, what would be the point of living? I struggle everyday wondering "How could God let this happen?" its very hard to understand. Those innocent people who die, are in a better place. But God realized that humans will sin and we are not made perfect so he sent a savior. I am a Christian but i respect other religions. Whether you believe in God or not, it's your choice if you want to go to heaven or not. We couldn't have just fallin out of the sky.

  • @Alexjd246 because during the fall, we currupted our own humanity, we do this to ourselves.

  • Love it

  • Guys, yes. They are a christian band. But can we please put religion aside and listen to the song?

  • I love this song so much .....I'm playing this for my school's talent show :)

  • @thrashmetalfan85

Lol. I was just going to say "I'm playing this at battle of the bands at school" XD

  • I have a serious question. I don't believe in a God, but I believe in living a life without hurting others and doing the right thing. I know faith is a main priority of religion and, if by chance, I am mistaken and a God does exist will I go to hell? I may be coming off as one of the "internet trolls", or whatever they are called, but why would I go to such a bad place for living a honest life?

  • @Courageismydog We don't get saved, or get to go to heaven by doing good works. We are saved by believing that God sent Jesus here to earth, and that He died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. No matter how good of a life we live, we always sin. It's impossible for us to be perfect. But when we accept Jesus as our Savior, He sees us as righteous and then we can go to be with Him in heaven someday.

  • @AcutestickGuitarist You're right, no one can be perfect, and the world is full of sin (based on what we consider a sin). As bad as I want to believe there is something more after this life, I can't force myself to believe in a God when the only thing I can do is put faith in it. As bad as it may sound, I choose facts over faith.. I wish faith was factual.

  • @Courageismydog Lol you are not "trolling" whatsoever. Being open is good and will lead to personal growth. Now onto faith... Faith will never be factual b/c then it won't be called "faith" - believing without seeing. Faith will remain "faith." However, when people are "saved" almost 99% can pinpoint an exact time where they accepted Christ. It's a much different feeling following something we cannot see when we "just know" it's true. its honestly a very difficult concepttograsp

  • @Courageismydog but hey, since you seem curious enough to know whether or not there is a God, and you realize that you have nothing to lose if it's true or not,but only something to gain, if i may, can i suggest or encourage you to search for this "God". Whether its askingquestions, talking to people involved with christ-centered ministry, getting involved in new things, you have nothing to lose man! once you find it, you WILL treasure it. i can assure that.it's wut keeps me goin!

  • Christians can enjoy non-religious music so I see nothing wrong with non-religious people listening to this :)

  • I wouldn't say that their intention was to get nonChristians to just listen to their music, but to hear the message behind it. Clearly, as a band, they aren't forcing their faith down throats, but their faith is underlying inspiration in what they do.

  • aww i've been trying to remember this song and who wrote it forEVER thanks so much for posting. :) love music nostalgia.

  • I don't interpret any of Relient K's songs in a religious way. If no one told me they were religious I would have never known. I'm Atheist, and I happen to love almost all their music. Relient K is the best! I love how they do acoustic and regular songs. Acoustic<3

  • This band made me believe in Him again. :) I'm so grateful for bands like Relient K.

  • im a atheist. and yes evolution sounds more believable than stuff popping up magically but this song is amazing. believe what you want whatever.

  • @blexper well man it takes as much fate to believe in evolution. to believe nothing exploded and bam, theres something. well i believe the first part. nothing exploded

  • im atheist. but how can you hate this??

  • @annabell9090 I know! I'm Christian but I mean music is to enjoy and religion shouldnt make something not to listen to.

  • @TheSideShort, I'm not gonna hate on your religion. You can be an atheist that's okay. You don't have to be Christian to like relient K they're a really good band. actually I think that was they're intention, to get non Christians to like they're music.

  • Relient K is a religious, and Christian band...I don't wanna argue but they happen to be one of the best Christian bands I've ever heard. (and I happen to be a Christian)

  • @maurlin011 I'm an athiest and I love em hah.

  • This song is relgious??????? since when..... o.O

  • Such a good song. SOOOO much better slowed down and in acoustic. He sings so fast in the original song. Great voice too!

  • Religion is a usless topic to argue over...no ones gonna magicaly read one of your comments and be convinced of either side so why must people start shit? It's a good song..yes it can be viewed as religious but the whole point of art is to put use your OWN interprtation to figuare out what it means to you..music is art whether you see it as just a good song or someone talking about god :P Just get a life and listen to some music and hold your tounge like normal people can

  • I'm just here for the music... haha...

  • @WillTheProdigy Wow? Really? Ur gonna put down someone else's faith just for the heck of it?

  • mandolin was one of my favorites instruments anyway...and the fact that this band used it makes it twenty billion times cooler:]

  • i was wondering why this song sounded different. haha

  • God bless Relient K.<3

  • Not Christian. At all. Still love this song with a passion, especially the acoustic version <3 This can mean a million different things to a million different people. To me, it's quite literal: I need to get out of my room because I've been grounded and my parents sometimes drive me mad. And I'm begging my window to be my escape. :)

  • I LOOOOOVVVE THIS SONG<3

  • I am an atheist but not afraid to admit i don't mind people who make music like this ^.

  • Beautiful.

  • I like the acoustic version better. But both are amazing. :]

  • I don't know why, but the acoustic version is amazing. :) I like it a bit better than the faster version. But that is just my opinion.

  • Best song ever!! I absolutely love and and downloaded it onto my ipod! Awesome! And the acoustic version is sooooo much better than the original! :)

  • In July I had to go to the hospital for a serious health problem, and we had to stay there for an entire month. The child care group let me use an MP3 while I was there, and I asked for Relient K because I liked the song, "Who I am Hates Who I've Been". I'd never heard this one, but by the end of three and a half weeks, I remember liking it the most. I made a mistake and got stuck in the hosptal because of it. I wanted to get out very badly.

So I loved this song and I listened to it constantly.

  • Ugh, reading arguments in the comment section on YouTube is one of my great joys, and you civilized people take all of the humor out of it. :(

  • i love how everyone commenting on each others comments and the song isnt saying a single swear word like you would hear on others

  • beautiful song

  • woahhhhh gotta get outta here!

  • I love it

  • Dear Relient K, be my escape. :)

  • okay seriouokay seriously religious people stop trying to make people believe in a god they don't believe in okay

  • @JoshuaHollaway59 Yeah but the problem would be an atheist even said that Christians that don't witness to others they are the most selfish people in the world because we know something that can save other people from hell if we don't witness than who will be in heaven sounds boring and the only reason we are here is to witness so please don't take offense to it we do it because we want others to come to know Christ

  • @rkp1096 be religious somewhere else. You Tube isn't your place to preach cause it sure as hell ain't a church. If you wanna preach, go to a seminary or something, but please keep you beliefs to yourself cause it really abnoxious to listen to songs then see a load of godTubers are causing friction. Interpertation is in the eye of the beholder. let it be and just enjoy the song :)

  • @rkp1096 I Go To Church I Know Christ But this band is not really christian just like switchfoot people think they are just because of this song it say's grace well grace could be anything

  • @JoshuaHollaway59 Not at all. Christian bands just don't talk profanity or curse words or the sort.

  • @JoshuaHollaway59 ...I would disagree with you there. I am pretty sure that this is a Christian band, label or no. Also, this song has tons of references to Christ and the grace that only He offers to humankind. It's quite beautiful. I remember that before I became a Christian I really loved the song...so yes, while it's enjoyable for anyone, it has special significance to the one with willing ears to hear.

  • @DaybreakInAutumn I completely disagree with you.

  • @ianmfultz Ok, well that is understandable...but can you give me an explanation as to why you disagree so that I can understand where you're coming from?

  • @JoshuaHollaway59 I personally believe that this song does show Christian influences. If you don't see it in this song you will surely see it in songs like "Less Is More" and if you still don't see anything after listening to their songs in depth you will surely not know of how this band is preaching morals and holiness through quite a bit of songs. It may not be there in some songs... but that doesn't disqualify them from being Christians who formed a Christian Band.

  • honestly people.... That's the beauty of music (and many other art forms...)... It can be interpreted in so many different ways... It doesn't matter if your religious or not, only if you like the song/band.

  • Christian or not, you are all here to listen to this song so just listen and enjoy:)

  • I beg to differ ...preaching is for anywhere anyday anytime it can be preached......go to chuch every Sunday and you'll see. God bless

  • @awseomsauce Amen.

  • @awseomsauce Evolution... That is all...

  • @WillTheProdigy I was never a fish. Or a monkey. That is all.

  • @awseomsauce chuch :)

  • Although Relient K may be a "christian" band doesn't mean that the listeners want to be preached to. Not everyone is religious, and whether you'd like to believe it or not it's kind of insulting. I'm not religious in any way, shape or form but i respect those who are. In my opinion, i think that every person shares a different story when it comes down to the lyrics. Whether it's religion, or someones personal life. Just remember, church is meant for preaching, not youtube =)

  • @misshazeleyesx I understand what you mean...but in their defense, sometimes people 'preach' because they are in love with Jesus, and thus, with you, because you are His incredibly valuable, special, unique creation. If being religious means going to church 1 day and then floating through life without change, count me out too! But if it really means falling in love with the One Who made me, I want in. Spiritual beings are drawn to spiritual things to fill in the emptiness; they resonate inside

  • @welcomeToUrMooseyFat yes well does remind me of somone:)

  • this song is amazing and im not religious i just like it yu dont have to interperate this song as religious bc if yu do then every song is religious *-*

  • acoustic version is much better than the original, i have no idea why i just like it better

  • @bella49511 it depends on how you think about it. if it makes you think of someone special then that could be it. the acoustic is known more for more soft sentimental music. this could cause you to like this version more :)

  • Lol I meant to type the word "think" in between I and the writer

  • Lol I'm not Christian, religous mind you but not Christian, and even I interpret this song as being religious. I the writer wanted people to come to that conclusion themselves because it comes off a lot preachy that way

  • Check out my friends and i's channel!

  • Plz listen to our band and subscribe help us out here please!!!

  • Check out a song my friend and I wrote called "Stand On The Word" on my channel! I think you'll like it :)

  • Awwwesome

  • Beautiful

  • why does everyone fight about religion..does it make you feel more comforted to know that a stranger has the same beliefs as you? and if not do you need to be an ass to them? bitchez be crazy

  • Oh cmon people please stop trying to categorize everything! Let people interpret it as they'd like. Actually- watch this, i'm gonna stick this in my 'good song' category. Ha.

  • the acoustic is so much better.

  • They refer to verses from the Bible but that does not make them Christian. Just because someone says or does not say something it does not mean that it is true.

To the Christians, the Bereans even the checked the stuff Paul said to make sure it was from the gospel. When cannot take people's word for it, when they tell us something, we need to measure it to scripture.

  • people say they are a religious band, but relient k has denied these claims. HAHA suckers are listening to the devils music =)

  • This is religious because it's about havin faith in God with everything, having to look to him for your problems, meaning to do what you know what is rite in whatever bad situation u have

  • This song could be referring to a girl, or it could be religious. You can look at it how ever you want to appeal to your own feelings. I love this song so much<3 and i'm not big on religion and if I was.. I'd still love it the same. Its beautiful(:

  • @xxemily95oo

    It could be either, really.

  • Like the acoustic version better than the original-3

  • I'm atheist and I love dis song niggah

  • i dont see how this song is religious.. im a catholic, but honestly i dont see this song having anything to do with religion...

  • My friend and I did a really cool version of this song! If you want check it out!! Thanks for the video!

  • This song is religious? What? I've been listening to it for 8 months now and neverrrr got that out of it.

  • @xxemily95oo If you watch the video.. it could be interpreted that the walls of life are closing in on him. Then the walls fall while the camera is in an aerial view. Thats symbolizes god is watching him and helps him 'escape.' God is his escape.

  • @SofelarGames I understand it that way now but I just figured it was just that he was in a stressful position and I took it as a song with a girl or someone being his escape not God.

  • @nivekov123 You sicken me. This song is about Jesus setting people free and giving them peace.

  • @zeldalover4jesus listen bro I really think you need to rethink your approach. Our mission as Christians is to approach others with the Gospel softly, not to scare them away. This kind of an approach gives Christians a bad name. It is good that you are trying to let this guy know the real meaning behind this song, but you really should not say tht he sickens you. Please take this into consideration,go and tell others about the incredible of freedom that the Lord wants to give to us. God is good!

  • if videos were counted by plays not views, this song would have over 1 million because of me :D

  • @Timewarpe this is awesome, i can't tell, are you that good or did you alter the audio of his voice?

  • @nivekov123 AHHHHHHHHHH!! ROFL!!

  • @nivekov123 not that type of song buddy

  • I've actually never thought of this as a religious song, although I see how it can be interpreted that way. I used to be catholic, and now I'm nonreligious, but I don't see what's to argue about.

  • I honestly like the other version better, but it's always great to hear the acoustic- it's beautiful. I love this song.

  • 9 people are stuck inside a rut they fell into by mistake, and while falling, they accidently pressed "dislike." :)

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think it matters what the song is truly about. It can be interpreted in many ways. Personally, I am an atheist, and although I know Relient K has a Christian worldview, I still enjoy their music immensely because it is good. And that's all that matters. It's actually quite refreshing to hear a "Christian" band that writes original and inspiring music.

  • @OliverZimbelman Pardon the pun, but Amen dude. Music is what you make it I personally don't go to church or really believe in much of a god at all. I still love this band and most of what all they do. Saying that you don't like a band based on their beliefs is asinine, and sort of childish. If you like the music then listen to it. If not then move on and find something you do like!

  • @OliverZimbelman I'm 16 and atheist but I love this band! I've been Christian lost faith and am slowly going back... It's not all that bad to have something to believe in.

  • @vampiries01 Going back will be the best thing you'll ever do, trust me. :)

  • @OliverZimbelman Even if you don't believe in it, you're right. It's got such a meaning. And people are praying for you bro, whether you want them to or not.

  • @OliverZimbelman anberlin

  • What the hell are you guys fightn about get on a religious if you want to fight

  • ok i always have thought this song was about a girl that broke his heart or he messed up with....but you guys have given me a lot of good thoughts of what this song meant...i appreciate the open minded feedback

  • Man this song is all about being a Christ Follower. I don't like the term religious at all! You can be born in America and be called a Christian, but its completely different than being a Christ Follower.

  • 240p we meet again.

  • @nivekov123 Whaaaa...??

  • IT DOESNT MATTER WHETHER YOU THINK IT IS RELIGOUS OR NOT, BUT AS LONG YOU GET SOME KIND OF GOOD MESSAGE THEN ITS ALL GOOD :D

  • I I agree if you wanted to you could make it a secular song or a religous song.. but Relient K is a religous band so I automatically relate it to God being your escape from the harsh world.. I can totally relate to this right now.. I love this song! and this acoustic version is amazing!

  • The acoustic version is better than the original in my opinion.

  • @CheesecakeTristan you have reason, this version is super, is best than tha original version

  • @CheesecakeTristan AMEN!

  • (: wow. this acoustic is amazing.

  • my interpretation of the song is not religious at all so there

  • I love this song so much. Before becoming a follower of Christ, I thought that this song was okay, I figured it to be somesort of romance song. That was about five years ago, when I first heard the song. Then, when I was being discipled my mentor Brittany, she played this song in her car. I had dedicated my life to Christ about six monthes before that, and it brought me back to when I was younger and heard this song. I then realized the deeper meaning to this song.

  • @WarriorOwnsAll ...wow..How about you dedicate your life to science?

  • @mkempey I do enjoy science, but writing or being on the mission field is more of my calling c:

  • This song is amazing it's like my life in a song

  • Im not christian but i love this song gotta admit its well written

  • @Ethan098766 what the fuck does you not being christian have to do with liking this song?

  • @3daygracc2596 Its a christian band and a christian song

  • @Ethan098766 still who cares? i took the meaning of the song differently. but anyways i'm an atheist aswell, i dont let music and religion interfere with each other. idc about the bands beliefs, as long as the music is good.

  • @3daygracc2596 I dont care about the bands beliefs but i care about what the songs message is i wouldnt listen to a song suppourting murder or something else of that nature

  • Love this song :) I'm so upset that I missed them do this at warped tour :s

  • I love this song(:

I'm so addicted...this is just so beautiful....

  • I love how the 7 dislikes make no impact at all on the green bar! this song is the definition of perfect! xD

  • Great song

  • omg i need to chords and strum pattern for this song soo bad..

  • so much better then boys like girls version MUCH LOVE FOR RELIENT K

  • Yeah

  • RELIENNT K IS FUCKING AWESOME!

  • I love the Mandolin in the beginning. it sounds really good

  • Comment removed

  • The piano part ... <3

  • I liike this cover! :-D (the song AND the 'cover')

  • @friendofTheHighest11 this is not a cover, just an acoustic version by Relient K

  • @HUNTdRADiO i mean the picture, but okay :-D

  • the key wont unlock the door sorry guys your stuck...................i love this song and i like it even more in acoustic

  • I like this version better :3

  • I have fallen in love. And it's with this band. <3

Their acoustic versions of their songs are just as lovely, if not more lovely, then the regular versions.

    Especially Up & Up.

  • love this song. xD

  • Love this song

  • Such a good song.

  • five people need to get outta here...

  • OHHH MYY GOODNESS. Relient K's harmonies are gorgeous. Just like Matthew Thiessen. :) LOVE THIS ACOUSTIC.
