The music is pretty inappropriate. Besides I think 'The Sopranos' offers a much better look at the American family and the hollowness of suburban life, but that is by virtue of it being a television series. Don't get me wrong, I think 'American Beauty' is a great movie, but there is only so much you can include in 2 hours or so. Besides Allan Ball went onto create his own family series, 'Six Feet Under'.

c'est vrai les realisateurs americains sont doués pour faire passer dans leur films les scenarios les plus farfelus, il a eu des oscars je crois ce film...je garde à l'esprit des scenes trés marquantes entre autres celle du sachet en plastique qui a virevolté au rythme d'une belle musique pendant un long moment comme animé d'une vie propre et dérivant à l'aveuglette comme d'ailleurs tous les personnages du films aussi perdus et pathétiques les uns que les autres..
