Dude you are wrong, my dog was attacked yesterday by a huge pitt and there was no getting him lose. Hit him with bricks ect. nothing. Finally the owner came up and grabbed it's back legs and yanked and it let go. Thank god. My best friend has a pitt and I don't have anything against them it's how their raised, I know this you best watch that ass if your not familar with it.

Great points! I have a bully and he is the best dog! I will never have any other breed and I'm an animal lover.(Except cats) I can't ubderstand how people can belive they have locking jaws. Most breeds cab hold on and be picked up will playing. People are just afraid of a myth. My Beavis is the most loyal, obedient animal I've ever had. I also have a chocolate Lab named Charlie. Him and Beavis are like brothers and play rough all the time and nether of them ever get hurt.

@forbesfoofighters they do not have a different structure. its just that that dog is strong because hes training well to be athletic so hell be healthy. i train both my pit and my treeing walker with a spring pole with a simple rope at the top. my tree walker can stay up for hours at a time and i have to pull his jaws apart to get him off. does he haave a lockikng jaw? NO. NEITHER DO PITS.

I work at a humane society and the breed that "goes crazy" the most is the the "beloved" lab. Most pit bulls I have met have been friendly and loving, no matter what conditions they are in. The dogs that have closest to biting me are mostly labs. Plus, I've seen a lot of breeds come in as "bite cases", and only one pit; and she was very friendly.
People say they dont lock but they are realted to cane corso from the distant past read this! The molosser is of great size and a great biter, like the Cane Corso. I have a staffy and they also get the lock jaw myth, and when i was walking her some guy came over and asked if he could try to get her to lock it. but she was so tired she couldnt physically hold on. she was so determined but just couldnt.

I agree with foldingcushion 102%. As a Doctor of Pitbull Studies at Kansas State University, I have personally conducted studies on over 8 pitbulls and have conclusively proven that not only do the jaws of pitbulls HOME IN on the closest human flesh, but that they are specially manufactured to lock on with deadly force, ripping apart bone and tendon almost instantly. I would NOT recommend a pitbull to anyone with more than one (1) babies, as these animals are specially designed to kill people.

ummmmm.....there are these things called bite sleeves so you can do that very thing. My friend has one and we've done it with Wallace and he released just fine. Not really worth making another video cuz it would be the same thing you're seeing here.

wether a locking jaw would be good for them in the wild is irrelavent because they didnt evolve like other animals out in the wild, they were transformed by humans from the original dogs...and the fact that he can let go of the rope doesnt show it doesnt have locking jaws , it just shows that it can unlock them. i love pitbulls and am getting one, but they do have the ability to hold on really really hard to objects..wether you want to call it a locking jaw or not is up to you.
The point is that many people think there is actually a mechanism or enzyme that causes the dogs' jaws to physically lock shut. If you think they can lock and unlock, then show me the mechanism or enzyme that is engaged/disengaged or excreted for this to happen. Just becuase they were bred to hold on, doesn't mean their jaws lock shut. There's a big difference in my mind.

Actually, in a National Geographic show called Bite Force, 3 breeds were tested. G.Shep, Rotti, and Pit bull. The pit bull ranked LAST in bite strength. Pits jaws are as strong as other dogs of comparable size. I have seen labs and goldens use spring poles as long and good as a pit.

And how was the test flawed. How would YOU do the test? They had the dogs do not one bite, but several. And every time, the pit bull ranked LAST.

That is what I mean, pit bulls' bites are about the same as another dog of similar size and weight. And those dogs in the segment were trained attack dogs, trained to bite and hold. Believe me, they bite really hard, its part of that training. They could be disqualified from that training (Schutzhund) if they give a gentler bite. The point of the training is to bite and hold the person there, till commanded to release. If you struggle, they bite down harder, but don't tear.
yes i'm very familiar with schutzhund. i just dont think its that accurate.. its like i could punch you in the face and knock you out..or i could punch in the face as hard as i can and break some bones. i just dont know if they are all trying as hard...cause everyone has always said pits have the strongest bite. but i guess how could they compare to a 120 lb dog.

Great points! I have a bully and he is the best dog! I will never have any other breed and I'm an animal lover.(Except cats) I can't ubderstand how people can belive they have locking jaws. Most breeds cab hold on and be picked up will playing. People are just afraid of a myth. My Beavis is the most loyal, obedient animal I've ever had. I also have a chocolate Lab named Charlie. Him and Beavis are like brothers and play rough all the time and nether of them ever get hurt.

and theres a reason the myth exists although there jaw has no different structure they do basically have locking jaws in the sense that my buddy has a rednose pitbull and when he hangs from a spring rag he is locked onto it he has hung on for a solid 2 hours before and could more than likely hang from it all day as it takes two men to pry his jaws apart so although there jaw is no different from any other when they get a bite you bet your ass those jaws are "locked" there

@forbesfoofighters they do not have a different structure. its just that that dog is strong because hes training well to be athletic so hell be healthy. i train both my pit and my treeing walker with a spring pole with a simple rope at the top. my tree walker can stay up for hours at a time and i have to pull his jaws apart to get him off. does he haave a lockikng jaw? NO. NEITHER DO PITS.

Neither pitbulls, nor any other bull breed have a locking jaw. FACT. What they do have is great strength and tenacity. The two things are completely different.
The only people who believe such myths are morons or idiots trying to "Big-up" their breeds.
Breed Specific Legislation may soon be a thing of the past in the UK. I for one hope to see a return of these great dogs in to RESPONSIBLE homes. But seeing what irresponsible people have done to the Stafford, i dont hold out much hope.

Here's a message to Fold and all other haters of the Pitbull. I hate when people say that pits "go crazy" because it's not true. I work at a humane society and the breed that "goes crazy" the most is the the "beloved" lab. Most pit bulls I have met have been friendly and loving, no matter what conditions they are in. The dogs that have closest to biting me are mostly labs. Plus, I've seen a lot of breeds come in as "bite cases", and only one pit; and she was very friendly.

There's only ONE breed that locks jaws SOMETIMES.ENGLISH BULLDOG. locking is caused by specific anatomy of this breed's skull and jaws-lower jaw is situated more to front than the upper one. This anatomy, with quite powerful bite, creates a lever that causes the lower jaw to jump out of the joints and it locks.
This skeleton characteristics is UNUSUAL among dog breeds. PITBULLS have normal jaws, UPPER JAW MORE TO FRONT THAN THE LOWR ONE. This phisically makes a PITBULL_JAW_LOCK IMPOSSIBLE!

I myself was in fact one of those people who found pitbulls to be an aggressive race with no other purpose than to fight/kill. Canine studies is a common field of study for those going into medicine because doctors will need to know how to properly respond to a wound inflicted by ferocious predators such as these.

This skeleton characteristics is UNUSUAL among dog breeds. PITBULLS have normal jaws, UPPER JAW MORE TO FRONT THAN THE LOWR ONE. This phisically makes a PITBULL_JAW_LOCK IMPOSSIBLE!

I have a staffy and they also get the lock jaw myth, and when i was walking her some guy came over and asked if he could try to get her to lock it. but she was so tired she couldnt physically hold on. she was so determined but just couldnt.
I love wallace by the way and i think your an amazing and responsible person. I think your a great team.

pitbulls dont have lock jaws but people only say they do becuse in pitfights they grab hold of his oppent and wont let go just like any other bullie breed

it dosn't look like your dog is a pure bread correct me if im wrong though im not saying it isnt but when you said they would starve if they could lock their jaws im sure they could unlock them obviously your dog is trained but i think if a pure bread pitbull is not trained and is backed up in a corner and had to fight their way through they would bite and "lock their jaw" it dosnt mean its actually locked like as their bones but they are strong and it would take a lot to pry their jaws open

he talks some sense but the beginning why would it be beneficial they couldnt eat or drink if they did have lock jaw they would use when and if required and not starve , there is no lock jaw its simple , if any of you or me cant open a clenched fist of another man does that mean he has "lock fist" no just means he can clench his fist tight like a pitbull can shut his jaws tight it just means they have more powerful jaws than say a labrador .

It amazes me how ignorant and stupid people can be. What he has done with Wallace is amazing, and what he is trying to teach people is amazing. I own a APBT and he is a sweetheart, my mothers boston terrier is more vicious then he is. All the haters on here really need to either get a life, or do some real research instead of believing twisted news stories and other youtube lackies. Keep up the good work Wallace is an amazing dog.

I agree with foldingcushion 102%. As a Doctor of Pitbull Studies at Kansas State University, I have personally conducted studies on over 8 pitbulls and have conclusively proven that not only do the jaws of pitbulls HOME IN on the closest human flesh, but that they are specially manufactured to lock on with deadly force, ripping apart bone and tendon almost instantly. I would NOT recommend a pitbull to anyone with more than one (1) babies, as these animals are specially designed to kill people.

Somebody's cranky. lol Whenever his teeth have hit my flesh on accident through rough housing with him, he immediately inhibits his bite and doesn't clamp down. But I'll tell you this, you show me the mechanism or enzyme on any pit to make their jaws lock, and I'll reconsider my thoughts on this.

ummmmm.....there are these things called bite sleeves so you can do that very thing. My friend has one and we've done it with Wallace and he released just fine. Not really worth making another video cuz it would be the same thing you're seeing here.

wether a locking jaw would be good for them in the wild is irrelavent because they didnt evolve like other animals out in the wild, they were transformed by humans from the original dogs...and the fact that he can let go of the rope doesnt show it doesnt have locking jaws , it just shows that it can unlock them. i love pitbulls and am getting one, but they do have the ability to hold on really really hard to objects..wether you want to call it a locking jaw or not is up to you.

The point is that many people think there is actually a mechanism or enzyme that causes the dogs' jaws to physically lock shut. If you think they can lock and unlock, then show me the mechanism or enzyme that is engaged/disengaged or excreted for this to happen. Just becuase they were bred to hold on, doesn't mean their jaws lock shut. There's a big difference in my mind.

ya i understand man, i thought they really locked in place because of a bone or something untill i did more research a while ago. they just have very strong jaws..sometimes twice as strong as other dogs like dobermans and rotweilers... youre definately right that there is NO LOCKING JAW but they do have the ability to bite down very hard and hold ..like pitbulls that do springpoles for like 10 minutes or more!!!

Actually, in a National Geographic show called Bite Force, 3 breeds were tested. G.Shep, Rotti, and Pit bull. The pit bull ranked LAST in bite strength. Pits jaws are as strong as other dogs of comparable size. I have seen labs and goldens use spring poles as long and good as a pit.

I don't care if you believe me or not, I saw a lab and golden do it, any dog can be trained to. Even small dogs. And yes, you can get your doberman to do it if you train them to. And how was the test flawed. How would YOU do the test? They had the dogs do not one bite, but several. And every time, the pit bull ranked LAST.

That is what I mean, pit bulls' bites are about the same as another dog of similar size and weight. And those dogs in the segment were trained attack dogs, trained to bite and hold. Believe me, they bite really hard, its part of that training. They could be disqualified from that training (Schutzhund) if they give a gentler bite. The point of the training is to bite and hold the person there, till commanded to release. If you struggle, they bite down harder, but don't tear.

yes i'm very familiar with schutzhund. i just dont think its that accurate.. its like i could punch you in the face and knock you out..or i could punch in the face as hard as i can and break some bones. i just dont know if they are all trying as hard...cause everyone has always said pits have the strongest bite. but i guess how could they compare to a 120 lb dog.
