  • "here's 5 dollars catch a taxi cab and take your rhymes around the corner to the rap re-hab" lol I'm not an LL fan but he schooled Ice with this one

  • Straight from Queens immortilised Coolv J. I dont care what anyone says. Im Ren, Wu, the best.Cool J is up there with that track. This is a good substitute for Queens which is currently unavailable on this site

  • ll beat jay z at club lebet back in the day, or something like that, no youngsta youtube didn't exist back then nor the web

  • are you people crazy?? alot of the lyrics LL said was funni as ever he was cutting they ass lols

  • @illumanist1 They don't know, Chum! They are brainwashed with Southern bull and simple-minded lyrics! lol

  • "Wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight" Is there a lyric from any rapper that Jay-Z hasn't stolen? LOL

  • @scorpius815 the funny thing is a few after this song Jay-Z and Dame Dash would be chasing LL damn near all over the country because he was the king of NY and they wanted Jay to battle him or whatever, trying to prove his skills and get up on his throne.

  • @kevinseveneleven you know what I heard something about this. Any known songs where Jay goes at LL?

  • @scorpius815 tru i thought i was the only 1 that caught that.

  • LL never won any of his battles, moe dee killed him with lets go! no comparison canibus murdered ll with 2nd round ko. and i am a ll fan but lyrically he lost those battles.still had a great career.

  • @pound4poundclown THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!

  • @pound4poundclown I have to disagree about 2nd Round KO. The other month I heard it for the first time in YEARS and in retrospect that shit had a lot of wack lines. Canibus in general was kinda overrated, he said a lot of complicated shit but he was kinda hit or miss.

  • @kevinseveneleven its over 12 yrs later so it may sound out dated but listen again and you will see canibus had the more iller rhymes and stayed on subject where LL talked about his money or kickin canibus ass. i grew up listen to ll, i am a fan but the winner is the canibus man.

  • @pound4poundclown Yep, real talk.

  • i dont give a dam what nobody opinion is ll went ham on this shit made me laff-my old gym teacher aint suppose to rap!and got the nerve to have them start trek shades on lmfao

  • I think cats went at LL because they figured he was SOFT. They didn't think he'd ever come back with anything. When he finally fired back with this (not that this was all that great, but the point is, he did fire back) people kinda backed off LL.

If you notice, Moe Dee and Ice T dissed him a lot BEFORE this track, but didn't say much AFTER this track. (Again, not that this track was all that, but it did shut 'em up.)

I'm still not sure what his beef with Hammer was tho. Hammer didn't diss him.

  • @JayNJayShow Although, Moe Dee did come out with "Death Blow" after this, to be fair. But still, things started to die down after this track.

  • This is dope.

  • ll finished Moe dee with murdergram, deathblow was a rehash of lets go, Moe Dee really saying I like to be paid one more time

  • The Best to ever do it and still doing it.

  • this is one of the illest diss tracks ever . LL dissed those 27 people that disliked

  • Brotha, you ain't got no style... #TLA ;p

  • Put him in pampers. Leave my draws in his hamper. When I'm through you'll need a brand new identity, I been scoopin' girls before you lost ya virginity. Str8 ill!

  • Your gonna hear a real ill paragraph soon, I took the cover right home to the bathroom.....she's the reason that your records sold a few copies, but your rhymes are sloppy, like Oscar..lol Ice T got pissed, tried to kill him in Ricochet

  • Tis is one of Eminems first hip hop songs he listened to. NO LiE

  • i mean.....you guys know deep in your heart...none of the rhymes he said here came close to the verbal whuppin that moe dee gave him on deathblow and let's go

  • @lazyboi1 You gotta be shittin' me, you must be one of Moe Dee's family members or some shit like that.

  • @NewYorkCityUSA7 once again, gimmie three "ooooh! ''oh sh*t!@!!" lines LL said. if u can't, then , quiet down, son.

  • @lazyboi1 The whole damn song is ooooh shit lines, you're really delusional kid.

  • @NewYorkCityUSA7 which is why u can't quote three lines. got it.

  • @lazyboi1 Listen dumbass, I'm not gonna sit here typing out 3 lines....unlike you I have a life.

  • LL got at niggas lol

  • @mkvl1490 lol for real..he was funny as hell to me when i was a kid..50 before 50..

  • Whoever pressed dislike on this is the biggest pussy

  • LL aint never had no lyrics... He just had delivery & the skill 2 appeal. He to me aint neva won a battle lyricly. Dude just pimped the game. We should've seen this coming from I Can Give You More. Just needed a reminder of how weak this dude is & was.....

  • @styles950 "what is a panther an animal that kills, I'm like a shark with blood comin out the gills" that was ill.

Maybe u shud go listen to rock the bells and I need love. LL is a beast

  • @zsivaz I have them. & I should've seen this love rapper coming from "I Can Give You More"... Dude is still not worthy of any lyrical titles. Unless its got to do with making a "Chart Topper".. A Boys 2 Men duet? Industry pimp @ its best right there tho. Dude aint been shit since Walking With A Panther.. Which is where my ears tune 2 mute on dude... He WEAK

  • @styles950 which is ure faovurite mc den?

  • @zsivaz KRS ONE, DEL Tha Funky Homosapien, Ice Cube, Kool Keith, MC Eiht

  • @styles950 dose r great mcs- all of whom I respect but dey r not perfect either. Ice Cube was lyrically dismantled by Common on the bitch in you. U criticise LLcoolJ 4 being pop- yet Ice Cube was doin songs with George Clinton?!!! KRS 1 he talks about not sellin out- yet he records songs with Puff Daddy. MC Eiht- as DJ QUIK says "u left the g out - cos der g aint in you"- he never recovered from dat bar tbh. MC eiht is nowhere near LL's level.

  • No Mc is perfect- dey've all sold out at times - same goes 4 LL. But to say LL ain't lyrical is just a lie. He's arguably the greatest to ever do it.

  • @styles950 u soudn dlike a damn fool and a hater learn hiphop then come back cause obviously your in the minority even old artist n young artist dont deny LL . you a fool

  • @bloktv Oh yeah? Homie, you sound like a "RAP" fan. LL hasn't ever been an MC's MC. He's the industry Rapper @ its finest. Once he made I need love, it was a wrap. Learn HIPHOP? Ha!!!!!!!, I'll school yo ass homie. & not from movies, docs or books. From knowing what I've done & can do. Fuq u & LL. Sraight up. He sold out & u bought n2 it. Even this song has no real rhymes. Its weak. U wanna hear a diss, play 2nd rd k.o! Play Death Blow! Play No Vaseline! Play Slap them up! Then holla @ me chump!

  • @TheSickone77 are you crazy? heres a few off the top of my head. "made em play it made em say it made em okay it made em obey it" hughh! (which was my fav part) "then he was like people dont really know how nice i am he was sleepin so now i gotta slice my man" wrap him up in seran tie em up slap em up inside of a van" you cant say that aint ill!

  • I love LL, he's one of the G.O.A.T. but I think Moe Dee's "Lets Go" & "Death Blow" was harder.

  • @desamania go listen to jack the ripper by LL he destroys moe dee

  • @TheSickone77 Oh please!!! The beat on Jack the Ripper was bangin' but there was no hard lyrical content there, I heard all of LL's diss track towards Moe Dee before. There's not one verse on that Jack the Ripper song you can find where he destroyed Moe Dee!!!

  • @desamania lay off the drugs moe dee could not hold a candle to cool j and im 41 trust me LL is top 5 of all time

  • @bloktv I'm not on drugs & I'm in my 30s & you didn't even know your ABCs when I was born, so what does that mean. I call a spade a spade. If you looked at my other comment you would see that I mentioned LL being one of the G.O.A.T. I'm talking about lyrical content & there's a lot of people who agree with me that Moe Dee lyrically tore him up,it is what is it. Listen to Moe Dee's "Lets Go," he got in LL's ass & again with "Death Blow." I'm talking lyrical content.

  • I'm like a Shark with blood comin out the gills??? man thats pretty sick

  • @rodney1b

  • back when New York really had something to say to the world, excellent demonstration of rapping ability....

  • LL COOL J IS HARD AS HELL, BATTLE ANYBODY I DONT CARE WHO YOU TELL. HE SAID BATTLE ANYBODY.. NOW THATS HARD.

  • LL COOL J G.O.A.T! I listen to my 90's rap on my Mp3 player since I was born in 1980 don't remember too much bout the 80's but EVERYTHING IS CLASSIC COMPARE TODAY'S TRASH

    KMD JACKED LL BEAT LOL

  • @elt01606 kool moe dee got murder merced on jack the ripper straight up and down and down and up das my word!!!

  • LL smushed Moe Dee with this one...and he killed Ice-T and Hammer too......lol

  • YOU KNOW KMD KILLED LL COME ON ONLY REASON LL HAS THE UPPER HAND BECAUSE LL HAD MORE FAME

  • @elt01606 What the fuck kind of crack are you smoking? Kool moe dee was the most famous rapper at the time LL was rather new get of KMD's dick he got served simple fyi i'm a KMD fan

  • SO DID IT REALLY TAKE LL THREE YEAR TO DISS ICE T

  • @elt01606 No it Didn't. I'm Ya Pusher Dropped end of 1988. LL Recorded this 89 & it was Released 90 on the house party soundtrack

  • I WANT TO SAY LL LOST THE BATTLE WITH KMD DEATHBLOW WAS THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN

  • Alright Check It. I Have GREAT Music. I PROMISE YOU WILL BE ENTERTAINED ! Give It A Chance...TRUST ME !

  • NEVER FUCKED WIT RAKIM OR KRIS OR QUITE A FEW OTHERS BUT I'M A FAN FROM THE EAST NOW ON THE WEST SO I RESPECT BUT LL U AINT THE G.O.A.T.I GOT UR WORK BUT I WIL SAY U ARE A LEGEND..... WHO CHOOSE HIS BATTLES CAREFULLY!!!!!. NO HATE ALL LOVE!!!HIP-HOP 4 EVA!!!

  • cause my old gym teacher aint suppose to rap lol dang like the beat

  • @teeosupreme KMD MURDERED LL U KNOW IT LET BE REAL

  • this was the shit

  • come on he's mainstream yes don't you want to be mainstream, dilema maybe hehe

  • not many people know Ice T put a gun to LLs face on his doorstep. There u go. He shouldve left Hammer alone

  • @danewon Never Knew That...Did He Put the Gun After The Diss Record

  • why he was beefing wit hammer and ice t ?

  • @TheEaglesfanindc cause hammer made a video in which he dissed Run-DMC, who was LL labelmates mentors and from Queens also,,Ice T im not 100% sure but i think it was something Ice T said in an interview

  • lol...LL was just mean...

  • @deliverednow He just murdered Cool Moe Dee, MC Hammer, and Ice Tee on this track...

  • @harveyshawn1 BUT KMD HIT HIM WITH THE DEATH BLOW TILL THE BREAK OF DAWN WAS WEak and kmd jack his beat

  • @elt01606 AGain not around in this era what you know about whats considered hot or not at this time, Death Blow was a receycled lame Lets GO. Gotta come fresh with it . Battles when Hip Hop was Hip Hop wasn't american idol "you have a vote bullSh!t", cats could get psychollogically damaged, and built up respect in game severed easily especially if your only dissing to stay relevant are no longer hot. If all that matters are lyrics, then LL finished Moe Dee at murdergram everything else butta

  • I get mad hate for this but I think LL got Canibus beat. Canibus is lyrical but then again so is every other underground rapper.. He's really nothing special...

  • @SCRUBNINJA91 Once again ll had more fame then Canibus

  • @elt01606 This is what happens when cats get a little youtube an wiki they think they know when they dont

anybody around at that time knows LL ate him up, countered everything Canibus had lyrically.

Canibus wen't all in with 2nd round, Mike Tyson hype, Wycleff Hype, full commercial appeal. Canibus 2nd round was getting played everywhere. Then LL dropped the ripper underground and crushed him, only when canibus realize that he was done he responded with rip the jacker, but it was over for him

  • The 19 dislikes need to start listening to the lryrics in hiphop and not just a good beat.

  • I just found out he's dissing hammer & Iced t. rofl. i knew he was talking to kool moe d.

my parts are-skin need lotion....& u likkle bloot cloth boy u must not know. rofl!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HE SAID BECAUSE MY OLD GYM TEACHER AINT SUPPOSE TO RAP 1990 BOY

  • this diss aint as hard as death blow moe d was is only comp....this is real hip hop thoe

  • no 1 wanted it with this MAN!!!!!! " I'm that type of guy!"

  • Comment removed

  • @skattahthoughtz13

i wouldnt say that bis killed him cuz LL definately had more of a career after the beef was over & done with. But i think the fact that bis didnt do much after LL's response is what really killed him. Bis had potential but never did anything with it. He has lyrics but that lazy flow just never lit up. Big L Pun, Biggie all the greats had lyrics plus a distinct flow. BIs just never tuned his up.

  • LL, 3 double platinum albums, 3 platinum, 5 gold! Canibus, one gold. LOL, I spit on Canibus, fuck him.

  • @RandomUsername010 wow that's a real intelligent argument. I can see why you have no skill in debate. lyrically, LLcoolJ is a dinosaur. and if cats like you and the media weren't so biased and one sided about who's got the biggest lips and sex appeal, and if it came down to actual skill....well hell..

maybe those awards would actually be with who rightfully deserved them, huh?

super fans like you don't change the fact that cats lack skills. Canibus is the future or hip hop and laid a new path.

  • @AudioInklined Bro, Bro, Bro, come on! Did u watch the YouTube video:

LL COOL J vs CANIBUS from the BEEF II DVD

If u won't listen to me maybe Kool Moe Dee & Krs One can educate u on why Canibus got his ass kicked. & if u can't accept it coming from 2 Hip Hop pioneers then I'll know u are delusional, insane & completely without rationality & can't accept reality.

  • @RandomUsername010 come on man. really? you're going to base some defensive strat. off those two cats on the beef vid?? really???

first off they are irrelevant too in this day and age, but dude, listen, those guys are being biased as HELL because they are old school too!!! its got blatant scratch my back and I'll scratch yours all over it! They said that shit I know, and it was wack and full of lies. true fans of the culture don't believe that shit and know they are way off base. Thts just facts

  • @RandomUsername010 krs is on LL side just becuse he is history in hip hop but canibus diss was better !

  • @acikoo nah ll had a better diss. Canibus had a more complex diss however, LL had good punchlines, great flow (better then bis), and LL knows how to battle. A good battle has humour, intensity and most importantly ruthlessness.

  • @Illestrapper i dont think that ll diss is better... its hard to record first diss track, response is easy becouse u record on his verses and mistakes... and i think canibus win that battle.

  • @Illestrapper how are you even comparing Canibus and LL? Its an giant versus a midget, Canibus is the better rapper period, mainstream got yall confused man. Canibus is in a league of his own, yall dont know hiphop.

  • @liljohey123 LL > canibus bro being mainstream doesnt mean you cant compare with the underground rappers... guys like LL, Big L, Eminem, Tech n9ne, Immortal technique and many more can and in some cases HAVE ripped canibus.

  • @liljohey123 damn bro just marry the dude allready. Canibus is pretty plain. nothing about him stands out to me, hes not unique in any way at all, and his lyrics are pretty cliche

  • @DJAPK You people dont listen to lyrics if you think ll> canibus. I mean just listen to this mess.

  • @MrTorchya21 canibus sounds just like immortal technique, and technique is better between the two. and ll cool j paved the way for the artists today, and if you asked canibus right now, he would say when he was a kid, he jammed to ll and he is his biggest influence. canibus would slap the shit out of you for saying this is a mess.

  • @DJAPK All your statement shows is that LL is old. How does that make him better? No one takes this man serious on a diss. It's his way of trying to prove he still got it. But lyrically he never really had it. Despite the many ghost writers he has. Canibus is one of the greatest battle rappers ever. A lack of fame has nothing to do with a lack of skill. Look at the garbage that sells today. While Jadakiss still is looking for fame is still trying to get paid.

  • @MrTorchya21 Whoa now...don't get me wrong I am a huge Canibus fan and yes he did eat LL alive, but for you to say that LL never really had it is way off track. Though around '92 LL's career took a huge turn for the worst and he never recovered and still can't make a dope track, doesn't mean that he didn't pave the way for all of the greats that followed..Wu, Nas, Big L, Mega and so on. I don't know when you started listening to hip hop but I think you need to brush up on your history.

  • @cinavenom1 I can't really see how Cannibus "ate LL alive"... I don't really understand how anyone can say this, but hey... it's about good lyrics and also taste:) In my opinion LL had much rougher lyrics and at the same time funnier, plus his beats and flow sound much better (and that's also really important)

  • @cyco2kill go listen to 2nd round knock out and Rip The Jacker

    Canibus crushed LL

  • @cyco2kill

None of LL's diss beats sounded better than the 2nd Round Knock out beat. That was straight up sikk!!

  • @PrAnG2000 That's one song dude, everyone keeps saying 2nd round knockout but I like LL more... taste is not of discussion

  • @RandomUsername010 ll got more hype because he got more fame lets be real kmd killed ll listen to the lyrics

  • @elt01606 If cats gonna talk about lyrics at least get the damn tracks right.

LL finished Moe Dee on murdergram. Break of Dawn verse was overkill

    /watch?v=KHEHy9d-2ZY

  • @RandomUsername010

What a shit statement. Since when does sales relate to talent. LL Cool J also out sold KRS One, but no way in a million years is he a better artist.

  • this a classic LL joint, if u like him or not u can not deny his incredible career, if he lost or won his battles who cares? brothas need to just appreciate real hip-hop, and know whos true

  • kool moe dee and canibus put this metrosexual in his place

  • @titosnla..Greeting... ANOTHER CHILD...SMH!!!..now i'll give CAN I BUS...RESPECT 4 COMING CLOSER THAN ANY OTHER 2 GO AT UNCLE L....BUT MOE DEE?....LOL...MOE DEE IS A LEGEND and i respect him and the trech 3...but come on!!!

  • @titosnla Props to Kool Moe Dee, he ate him up on Let's Go, but LL crushed Canibus on Ripper Strikes Back.

  • @RandomUsername010 I love how people think the battle ended at the Ripper Strikes back.

Listen to the following diss Canibus and you won't be saying that shit. Canibus fucked that man up.

  • @NinjaLikeTeaBagger If ur talking about Rip the Jacker I feel it's a pale imitation of 'I'm Bad' & Canibus should just STFU & move on. He got his ass kicked plain & simple. I've heard all the tracks involving their beef, even the whole phone conversation & Wyclef Jean's diss to LL. It's just my humble opinion, but I think Canibus tried to make LL his meal ticket & he failed miserably. It's no shame in losing to LL, he was already deeply planted in rap history when Canibus stepped to him.

  • @RandomUsername010 Canibus did not want that to be his meal ticket. Come on bro. LL clearly took that out of context and ran with it. Even Meth admitted to that.

Honestly what was the hardest diss track you feel LL did against Canibus. Maybe I missed one. Canibus went REALLy hard at the man. Some really personal and degrading shit that was really witty.

"when Canibus stepped to him." Again, LL stepped to Canibus over nothin cause he's an asshole.

  • I would agree with u if Canibus worked on 2 things: Delivery & production. His delivery sounds mad wack on all his tracks. Sure his rhymes are clever, even poetic, but it sounds shit when he always sounds the same & Rip the Jacker sounds mad weak with that fake I'm Bad beat. LL's Ripper Strikes Back is hype backed with passion & top notch production. It's not lyrical but @ least he sounds like he means it. Canibus sounds like he smoked too much of his own name whenever he spits

  • @RandomUsername010 So you're saying LL burned Canibus cause the production quality and voice was better.

"but it sounds shit when he always sounds the same" He doesn't. He doesn't even sound the same in that very song.

"fake I'm Bad beat" that was the point. That beat was chosen on purpose.

I'll agree with you that his raspy delivery does get annoying on some tracks but he definitely doesn't do it all the time.

  • @RandomUsername010 you're too caught up with stars in your eyes son.

whats relevant about LL anymore? he's got about as much clout as Theo Huckstable at this point.

What you guys/girls who support LL don't understand about the difference between him and Bis (seemingly) is that Bis IS modern hip hop. he is what LL used to be, in a form, but even thats giving LL more credit than he deserves. Bis rhymes make sense, and have feeling. thats too much for you? you need tracks like I NEED LOVE from LL?

  • @RandomUsername010 also his delivery is on point, his style is different from other emcees, but not any different as to make a point about, unless you were listening to too much eminem, but hey, if you want to take it there, even eminem switches his voice. the dude does NOT sound like that at home, he talks with a hood accent, lets all be real here and call spades. I'm not being biased. Canibus is sick as fuck son, thats just a fact, and old school cats can't seem to handle that. thats bizarre.

  • @RandomUsername010

there are better emcees; its not 1986 anymore, and we all have 2 deal with that.

& if u don't give credit, you've got a hateful heart, ur weak minded, callous, & its a bitch move, that's pseudo-hatred almost. It wasn't your battle, it was between bis & LL. Bis is always on point & modern & relevant. What did LL ever say that meant anything? his rhymes were meaningless word play, ex: "rhymes was weak, made me chuckle like a name buckle" filler rhymes. point in case.

  • What LL said that ever meant anything? The Breakthrough- A message to brothers to get off their ass & get theirs. Cheesy Rat Blues- About two faced back-stabbers that diss u soon as ur money runs out. Illegal Search- racial profiling & crooked cops. Canibus can never hype a crowd like LL, listen to It Gets No Rougher, Jack the Ripper, I'm Bad. Eminem, one of the most lyrical MCs ever praised LL, & kicked Canibus ass on Canibitch, now that's sayin somethin. LL paved the way for rappers like Bis.

  • @RandomUsername010 you know thats cool that you came back man and brought up some relevant songs about some issues, but if you want to flip that, bis has a catalogue with even more than ll had or has, or I honestly believe could at this point.

I mean bro, come on, even if we had the young ll in his prime today, going up against canibus, he simply would not have the lyrical prowess to defeat an mc of bis caliber. thats not being biased, thats being realistic and not talking about what ifs/maybes.

  • but I do agree with you that ll did help* pave the way for emcees like canibus. even bis would acknowledge that, but lyrically, which is what mc'ing all boils down to, canibus did/can and will destroy LLcoolJ. sometimes we don't wanna see the truth for the what it is when we're not feeling it, but thats all it is, truth.

as far as hyping a crowd, that depends what you consider hyping i guess. if the crowd is 80% females..maybe ur right..

if its real hip hop heads in the know; wrong.

  • G.O.A.T.

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at instantmp3s..com

  • this is a classic song, somebody needs to upload the 12-inch alternate versions and instrumental of this song.. PM me if you got the goods..

  • this song is weak as fuck. even for its era.

  • @AudioInklined Greetings...would this be Mo dee?..Ice T?...or Hammer?...cause they refuse 2 answer after this was dropped..my friend...YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BATTLES..if you knew...the following are NEVER 2 BE TESTED...LL...KRS....NAS....fam you can still play this joint and the feeling of DEATH still haunt those 3...now i beg you 2 study...the art of battlin..take care

  • @rpj1

Ur playing ur if u think this shit stood the test of time, let alone in its own day. Its not worthy of reply. thats why cats didnt answer back, get real.

Come down off ur high horse. ur gonna get urself hurt playing up there.

that amused me man. seriously though, who the fuck do u think u are?? You act like you were involved in this shit son, personally! did u battle these cats? Did u ghost write for someone? oh no, wait, I remember, u POSTED A VIDEO on you..tube..yeaaah... calm down, now

  • @AudioInklined...well..your a lil out of touch...i know ya not from NYC...so you have NO CRED...i'm done and as a matter of fact...pull up.. Damented Mindz ..2 watch my show..now where's your vid?...you think that mc poet won the battle against krs?.don't ya...lol...your so sad...enjoy the show

  • @rpj1 you seem a little still wrapped up in the east-west shit, rpj.

I'm only expressing my opinion on this video battle shit. and when i was in high school in 96, i was purely east coast, so I know whats up son, and I don't have flaunt my shelf work on that son. point it, I disagree.

  • @AudioInklined ..Greetings...you were in H.S.in 96?..LOL..LOL..LOL.the battle was in 92...were you 12 then?...LOL...bro..real talk it's not about east or west...it's about knowing the facts...fact 1..LL killed those 3 in this battle...fact 2...your the only one who don't know it!!!..fact 3..before ya speak..check facts 1 and 2..again you know nothing about this matter..here's more facts 4 ya..did ya know that each borough in nyc would battle each other.with no thought of the rest of USA?

  • @AudioInklined Do your research lil homie. What rpj said is 100%. Certain emcees are not to be tested. And anytime they were, they ANNIHILATED the comp. LL, KRS1, Nas, Rakim, and most recently Eminem. These cats are true students of the culture. They know how to attack a persons soul verbally. The words on this track ring 20 yrs later much louder than any VERSE you can remember from the dudes he killed on it. Your opinion is respectable, but dig the reality.

  • @docbofromerrick I appreciate your civil reply doc, shows not everyone on youtube is a foot in the mouth fool. But I must still disagree bro. I have done my research, I know LL's footprints man, dont think Im ill informed, because I'm not. I just dont agree with the "not to be tested philosophy" for one, as when your time is up as an mc, its up, and your card is always there to pull. I liked old ll tracks, nowadays he's a horse of a different color..

I respect the past, but force the future.

  • @AudioInklined listen my friend the guy is rap royality he already was critically acclaimed by the time he was 16 remember radio? He took on kool moe dee and crushed him and kool moe dee was the king of new york ,ice t the original gangsta, and then got with mc hammer and then was clever enough to market himself to the ladies

  • @SuperJwalk J, i never said ll didn't have business savvy, or at least a good agent/style/image consultant. that much is clear. but I disagree about rap royalty. he is definitely a brick in the wall of the old school museum. know what I mean? but he is past him prime, and for me, when you get down to it, never had strong verbals.

I guess you know what it boils down 2 is, in his day, emcees were of a lesser degree, & he had a couple jams and girls liked him, and guys wanted to be him/liked him 2.

  • @AudioInklined listen my man im 40yrs and rap and me came up together and this brother and gotta drop another nothin in this game he damn near built def jam its obvious you aint old school you gotta be a youngin the boogie down might have started rap but LL put queens on the map

  • @SuperJwalk well super, you only have 10 years on me, and I have been listening to rap since I was at least 11-12 years old. I never said ll WAS wack, because in his day he was decent. thats true. But nowadays he wants to be a contender still or perpetrate that he is, but the facts point to no, he's not, & that mic on his arm should be X'ed out. As far as I'm concerned, non biasedly, lyrics wise? Bis destroyed him with 2nd round knock out, maybe U cats r the ones need 2 go and review the facts!

  • @AudioInklined Hard 2 force the future when its as bleak as it is (lil lame, flake, niki garbaj, wocka-wocka/fozzy bear). Can LL beat anybody in a battle today? I doubt it. But that's like saying Jordan can't play with Lebron and Kobe. Its a difft era. In his time he was not to be tested. Just like KMD in his time. Or Melle Mel in his. The not to be tested philosophy is based on facts. Those emcees I named were not to be tried, and if any1 did, they got dismantled.

  • @AudioInklined Respect due to your opinion, but I think we need to analyze the facts. LL's career has NEVER been hampered due to a battle he had. Can we say the same for his competitors? Just think from the old(kmd) to the young(canibus) anyone who crossed LL's path, thier careers ended shortly after. Healthy debate though my man. I agree it is refreshing to connect with other intelligent minds who can have a civil disagreement.

  • @AudioInklined And for the record LL is NOT the best of all time, but he definitely has the highest winning % in battles. Right along with KRS, or Nas. Never lost 1. Again, in thier times, they were "not to be tested"!

  • @rpj1 Yo rp you obviously know your hip-hop! What everyoune is forgetting is that in a battle even if you spit the hottest verse, you are battling for a position. ie-jay z and nas battled for "king of NY". After this track all 3 of those cats lost thier position, creditability, and opportunity to further thier careers. Coincidence? NOT! LL made them ALL irrellevant with 1 track. If thats not a victory, then what is?

  • @AudioInklined i disagree mydue

  • BEST DISS LINE EVER @ 2:45!
