  • Im refering to radio control as was the other person who claimed they was worlds first way back in 2009 and somewere i have a magazine my model is in painted like that way before 2009 thats all and when i get the time as ive not long moved house I will unpack my quater scale version from her special box and take some close up pics of the rotor head etc for all to see oh btw the head does teeter on my model. And all the rockets etc were made by me.And has a pre-spin up device before takeoff.

  • Well there is someone claiming they was the first person to have a little nellie painted in the theme colours of ken wallis's full size little nellie I wonder If mine was painted way back before 2000 that would be classed as worlds first not thiers ummm lol.

  • @SkunkapeProductions I would say Corgi were the first to make a replica painted in the Nellie colour scheme back in the 60s..I have yet to see a replica flying in model form. One which uses a fully teetering hub with 2 blades using a load share set up for control and a fin only. I look forward to your half scale Nellie...Rich

  • song? nice gyro

  • Well this ones not as easy as most gyros that are about it has a pre windup device installed and if the rotors were to slow down it respins them up again also Ive not been able to find a manufacture who could make the rotor shaft as it a special one.I am in the process of building a half scale one but have recently moved so is taking alittle longer to sort out as the girlfriend takes priority first but i will get there in the end.

  • Have you got round to flying your 'nellie' yet? thats what it was made for....looking forward to seeing some flight footage

  • Nice Gyro....they are easy to fly..just different characteristics to anything else. It will be nice to see it fly.

     Thanks for posting the video.

  • Ok seeing as you cant get the spares anymore but at the moment i need a new rotor sharft still cant find anyone in the uk who can make me one as they are specially crafted.Oh you say autogyros are easy to fly so if i mention gyroscopic presssion you'd know what im talking about.

  • grow balls and fly her . autogyros are pretty easy to fly . far easyer than my kyosho heli which i still fly and it is well over 9 years old . very good job on the conversion .

  • Hi a rare gem, i have one of these to which i brought off ebay for loads of money!, please tell me what engine? dose the auto rotate system work well? how dose she fly? i'll have to get mine setup to fly soon, thanks

  • Ok the engine must be at least a .60 i use a super custom 61 the auto rotate works great and ive not had her in the air as such as she to valuable to crash

  • A true beauty.. :)

  • I meant to say - have you any video of your RC Nellie flying? I've always liked the idea of building an rc plane or helicopter from scratch, but i figured i'd stack it and be devastated!!! I've only built the glo-fuel cars up until now.

  • Ive only got one of it doing a pre takoff run but because it was filmed on a old panasonic its very choppy film wise.

  • Thanks for the link. Nice video!!

  • sorry about the quality as its from a vhs tape and the software I used from pinnacle has alot of bugs in it even though its an upto date version/

  • basically the transitions for the video dont transition properly always get that annoying green with it but when i can afford it will be buying the far superior sony vagas pro 8.0 without the bugs lol
