@135twilight Yup, and is there a 5.56 gatlingun? I know there was a project to make one portable by a man some time, but it was kinda cancelled because no man could handle the recoil by 3000 round per minute 5.56 without falling down. Also the ammo carrying ability would have been bad and also the trooper would have had to carry a battery..

@Kekkon3n yep, they scaled down the 7.62mm M134 'minigun' into 5.56mm XM214 'microgun'

but given the ballistic property of 5.56mm and the overall bulk and weight of the 'microgun' it doesn't really serve much sense to use 'microgun' instead of just using M134 so XM214 'microgun' was never adopted for full use.

@Kekkon3n as far as infantry use is ever concerned though, that's unfortunately in the realm of 'not useful' given the overall size and weight of gatling gun systems which far outweigh it's fire rate advantage, and making one for pistol caliber rounds is unfortunately even less useful since they have very limited effective range and penetration.

plus if very high fire rate is somehow really needed for mobile infantry use, they would just use existing weapon like MG3 (MG42 in 7.62mm) instead.

just so u guy understand the firepower of those guns u need to know that it is not shooting red ammo, red bullets are fired as tracking bullets every 50 rounds
