Buddy, I know what your saying. It's kinda like listening to the news, it's depressing. My suggestion, change who you watch & listen to. Alot of these blacks that are negative are the same ones that don't know there black American history & their history as a people outside of America. Yeah, it's hard, I know the deal, but when you see the people from the past & present SUCCEED despite the adversity it makes all the more proud.

It's like why do we as black people fight so hard against racism? Because we really do want to have to rely on each other for good jobs, schools and housing we'd rather beg the outside world for these things, instead of coming together and ensuring we all do our best to advance the race. But we only look to see how "I" can fit into the whole scheme of things regardless if it's detrimental to black people as a whole. Look at the rappers, entertainers. We need more community productive people.

You're right right! Like I said some of these folk have good intentions but what they dont understand is that there is a certain way one must go about when it comes to addressing our complex issues... U must be extremely careful not to perpetuate the mainstream identity for it doesnt describe us all... BUT when people again only know the negative then that is all you get from them, no solutions at all...
