Is your cat an indoor cat only? If it is, and since it seems to enjoy soil, why not buy a large flat litter pan and pour some thick layer of top soil in it. Even better : grow grass in the pan ...Your cat will love it and will wallow in it with deligt !
Watch out its very cute and funny. But my cat started pooping in the plants -.-; and he knows he has boxes! now we got to figure something out -.-
