What scorsese said in his interview on the special edition sums it up beautifully "I am Cuba is a story about love,love for ones country,for it's people, and through that love a united hate for those who rob and steal from your country."And these moronic english and american's living nice comfortable lives while talking shit about this film, acting as if they wouldn't take up arms and fight if even a fraction of the suffering in Cuba at that time was inflicted on their countries.Hypocrites.

i was really sad after seeing this video, because some people think that this film was made by scorsese, other ones think that it was kalatozov who made it, but actually the director of the film is mikheil kalatozishvili, a georgian film director... i am really proud of him and think he deserves to be known....

First of all, Mikhaïl Kalatozov was Georgian, not Russian (even if we had to talk about USSR).

Xclamation pretends that "Soy Cuba" is - "is a blatant piece of Communist propaganda"-. Perhaps... I prefer to see in this movie a very realistic point of view about the cubano society during the "USA invasion". 4 shorts movies, making a big one, about a young girl in the city, a farmer in the land, rebells hiding in the wood and students struggling for freedom.
