@tommybass40 I did too, my first C.T. concert, spring 1980. I had just turned 15 that month. Awesome show (The Romantics opened). Great RnR era back then.
This wasalways one of their best live tunes from the late '70's shows...Rick used to do a pretty cool blues/shuffle/ Guitar solo that ended with Tom and Bun E joining in at the end!!!
This is how ROCK AND ROLL IS DONE KIDDIES!!! Note how much BETTER it is than the garbage that's spouted mout and passed off as being "good music" these days. The present crap that's being handed to us these days is pathetic! These new groups could learn alot from CHEAP TRICK AND NEED TO.
yes! 95% of music these days is complete shit. and even the enjoyable stuff still does not even come close to comparing to music from the 60's, 70's, 80's. and what is with this switch to rap, r&b and hip-hop. who invented that garbage...
It's a shame, I've encountered few bands these days that empress me the way Rush, ACDC, Ozzy,MotelyCrue 1st did. There are a few good songs in the R&B,hiphop&rap, but so much sounds so much alike& have no imagination in them. They sure don't leave much to our imagination either. "Oh baby, I Fed U so good', crap gets very old. Gangster rap is the worst. Where the hell are the Cheap Trick, Rush, ACDC, Led Zeps of today? It's all so soft edged, watered down& repetitive. * heavy sigh*
@Sharky2055 Wow - that's a really original comment old man. Like you can't find the same type of remark on any other video of a song by uh, Led Zep, the Beatles, the Who, Jethro Tull, blah, blah, blah, blah. Why don't you stick to just listening to our old music. Cheap Trick is awesome, but kids don't need self appointed dads like you to tell them what to listen to - and THAT is what rock and roll is about.
@Sharky2055 Now you see white kids running around saying "yo yo wassup" and flashing gang signs and now our identity and UNITY IS GONE and.. SO GOES OUR COUNTRY.
I "just got back" from seeing them at the Dixon May Fair in CA, and they really do sound better and better every time I see them. They played stuff I have not heard live in a long time. Keep it up fellas!
These guys are probably the most underrated rock band ever besides Jellyfish. By the way based on this concert alone I have reason to believe that Robin is Kurt Cobain's father. LOL. He looks just like Kurt.
One of my all time fave Trick songs ever! And that's saying a lot, cause there are so many great tunes in their catalog it's a hard pick!!!

First Concert I ever saw as a teen with a few neighbors. Phenominal Show.
Seeing Moon Martin who opened for them that night was cool. Bad Case of loving you, the best original version.

Bun E.'s got a double bass drum, didn't think he did that until Pete was in the band.

After watching this I wonder how close Tom was to leaving, he seemed to be keeping his distance a bit. Maybe not...

He sure was much more of a showman on this tour than ever before, like he's trying to be the ENTIRE band himself. I love it, actually.
