On the first phrase, I agree with you, but after that, what do you mean by "not under the best control"? This is Handel. I find it is best with minimal vibrato(and she has lots of it).
i agree that its more in keeping with classical style to have less vibrato, although i dont really care as long as the singer is good. its just that hear compared to other performances hers does not seem to be under the best control. this is comparing her to her usual excellent self so i dont know maybe im just hearing what i want to. im very self conscious about my own vibrato so maybe its just a thing i have.
i say the more vibrato the better!
