  • Great band i think they could have used a better singer. If i rated this song i would give the band a 85 and the singer 40.

  • The singers great, the bassist is also pretty sweet.

The guitar needs some tightening up, but it works.

Im a drummer myself, and it would take a long time to say everything that was wrong with the drums....

  • Pass on the legacy guys! Let the whole world know OLD MUSIC REALLY ROCKS!!!

  • *Good

  • hey guys love the clip and it did bring back momories but i think i can sing a little better than that but a great efort for sure verrywell done ,

  • that is cool. There are tons of great classic rock songs like this that you all can do. Don't forget to throw in some other great bands like STP, Pearl Jam, or some of those great one hit wonders of the nineties.

  • good job fellahs. thumbs up!

  • Love you guys. Back for more. Magic. I played in a basement band when I was in my teens. You bring it all back. Wish I could go back in time..

  • that was good, do inside looking out.

  • lol the drummer actually looks like don brewer and the singer like Mark Farner!!! Great cover!!!!!!

  • I agree with CatfishCounts, it is good to see the young dudes playing classics like this instead of following trends and playing that fruity "American Idol" style bullshit. Keep rockin' dudes. You sound great!!!

  • These guys are great! They remind me of the band I was with back in 1971 in Lincoln Park, Michigan. People demanded that we play this song where ever we were booked at. Good job!!

  • The drummer has Don Brewer's hair and lead vocal has Mark's....lol. Good cover guys. GFR was always my favorite back in the day. I'm 49 now and still rockin'. Y'all are great!!

  • The only thing that would have made this better is if Mom had come in during the middle of the song and asked everybody if they would like some orange juice!!!!!!!

  • That's hilarious (and exactly what usually happens).

  • Great to see some young cats performing such awesome classics. Sounds great guys! Dig the DSOTM shirt on the bass player.

  • great cover guys... brasilian congratulations!

  • Rock on dudes! All did a good job, but special props to the bass player.

  • great, more kids should play music like this instead of that metal ang punk shit

  • really refreshing to see young people going back to the source instead of trying to mimick all of the dime-o-dozen crap that passes for music today.

  • Reminds me when I was young. From an old musican to you young musicans you guys sound very good, stick together, don't let chicks get in the way of your music, don't let silly fights turn into long time hate, and work TOGETHER and maybe just maybe if the right person see you, you might make it. And beware of the ones who will ask you for a s**t load of money to help you. Good luck guys.

I really dug the harmonics part on the guitar! Nice improvisation!

  • thanks a lot

But we didnt stick together unfortunately lol

  • I hope you are continuing this effort. I am a huge fan of

Grand Funk...and I am wishing you will continue.

  • SOLID fellas. stay with it and y'all will be great in no time. Playing true to the original is right on. Check out WE'RE AN AMERICAN BAND by THE PSYCHEDELIC JUKEBOX. That's us doing a cover the way it's supposed to be done. Y'all did great!!!!

  • 1973 marked a time that Grand Funk was premier and this song was their high-flying jolly roger flag! Mark Farner would be proud, fellas. Right On and Rock Out!

  • Grand Funk Rail Road- I'm Your Captain., A new batch of young captain`s. I`m getting on the boat with you because you are great and the song is worth cruising to ! signed a freak from the past.

  • this is GREAT!!!!

  • One of the greatest rock songs ever.

  • I've noticed a LOT of young teens really into music of 80's and 70's and having no taste for corporate rap hip hop etc. Of course the clueless media has not gotten hip to this yet so..Rock On Guys.

  • I'm fascinated by your nonchalance with regard to half of the band being seated in the beginning. Unusual. "I gotta be me!" is the way I see it.

  • Back again to hear you young fellers. Sittin' here enjoying your playin. Brings me back to the days when i was young and playin' in a band like yours. The best!

  • Great Job! Being a Grand Funk freak from the 70s, It's great to see you young guys covering them. Keep up the dream and never give up such a great gift that God has given to you. Bravo!! PJ. from NY.

  • Hey Mark are ya out there, what do you think?

  • Not bad at all. The singers wasn't always following the melody line, but he still is not a bad singer at all...

The guitar bass and drums was right on...

  • Great, not good, great job guys!!!

  • This was put on here back in Oct. '06, hard to believe it's already over two years old! What is the band up to now?

  • Sounds great! I just started a band myself and I love covering awesome classic rock songs like this!

  • great job guys sounds good i like the way the the bass sounds

  • An absolutely great cover of a great song.

  • Sorry...I meant to say band...

  • The real bad is smiling from above...great work guys!

  • kick ass! quite impressive

  • Nice! First comes Youtube fame. Next you are auditioning for Simon, Randy and Paula.

  • WOW! this is very good! especially in the garage!

  • Pretty damn good playing in a garage with no studio mixers to balance the tracks.

  • You guys would be great playing some classic "Deep Purple" or "Black Sabbath" tunes too.

  • ya know the funny thing is that the drummer in this band and the drummer in grand funk railroad both have afros! (LOL)

  • Their bass player prtty damn good holla to ya bass player! and the band aint half bad as a whole the singer sounds older than what he probably is well atleast they dont suck theyre good enough to go out and ply bars so ya know at least some one cut all the guitar hero bull shit! How many times do I gotta tell people guitar hero aint a real guiar well at least these guysd cut that bull shit way to go!

  • Wow!You've got something in there!! It's not that easy to play Grand Funk Railroad like that! Congratulations!

  • damn good whats the bands name?

  • shit kids you guys are a pretty tight foursome. You should let me come over and play the strings part on my keyboards. God fucking job.

  • Very tight. Bass player is good.

  • Sorry I have to be the old geezer here. And thank those young boys for keeping that old stuff alive. Dudes voice is changing, and the bass player is younger than the strings on his guitar! KEEP PLUGGING AWAY BOYS!!! And thanks again!!!

  • This was the first song I tried to play out with a band with.. the singer choked and I ended up singing as well as playing in front of 100 boyscouts at a church service! I was 11years old!! That was 1971!!

  • i'm sorry i have to be the nice person and say i do like the vocals alot

i think you really understand the song ...singing with alot of soul

not alot of people can do that

    good job

  • Sorry, I have to be a critic. I think the band rocks ass and almost nailed every bit of it on the head, but I dont really care for the lyricist at all. Is he capable of playing any instruments, the rest of ya'll are very talented, but don't care for the vocalist. Love your taste in old school tunes.

  • You guys are a frikin' natural.

Be humble, stay focused and do well.

    So far, so GREAT.

  • exelente , muy bien boys, saludos desde MEXICO, VERY GOOD

  • nice job everyone. im watching this video for the first time and im wearing the exact same shirt as the bass player. WEIRD!

  • way to go, young fellers. I listened to GFR lost when I was 12 but no drum kit to jam with. Good on ya.

  • excellent job on a really classic tune

  • best cover i ever seen,,singer needs more soul.

  • Great job guys!

  • really really good thumbs up class job

  • wow for your age awesome. Awesome if you guys were old even.
