I'm sorry. But I just read the first two or three pages of the prologue from SM website, and I closed it because it was so boring. It's sad that the Twilight movies are more interesting than the books, and I've only seen the first movie. I've read all four books, and I was hoping for something more. For those who said it was so good that they couldn't put it down, but took a month to read it, ya'll must really be poor readers. SM writes brain candy books, nothing good, just something to read.

The first twilight movie is the best so far, we'll see how breaking dawn 1 and 2 turns out, I finished the series in like 2 weeks and went and got the host, and wasnt disappointed. I think the movie has great potential, if the director gets it right, apparently it will be made into a trilogy, possibly continuing the story line...
Apart from the love part, it kind of reminds me of the TV show Dollhouse. People getting their memories erased but one character not quite forgetting.

I then realised something was dreadfully wrong.
'The Host' is one of the most terrifying, soul-wrenching, generally spectacular films ever to come out of korea, possibly even to come out of Asia as a whole.
It is nothing compared to the horror I felt when I realised this hack writer had stolen it's name.
To even attribute the title to that amateur bitch is a crime against the film industry.

I am an avid reader, however, and this book was very intriguing on many levels; I loved it. I challenge you to actually read the book before declaring fraud.
It was tacky, poorly written and the characters were two dimensional at best.

I'm reading this book now. I can't wait for the film. It's so intense, and it kinda starts in the middle if you know what I mean? You only start getting a grip on what's happening and who's who in the middle of the book.
i read that book as soon as i could. and it was a great book and a different take on things, but i had also read the animorphs series a while before then and the similarities between the book were very noticable, the main difference beign that the Hosts were less relatable with humans than the Yeerks, however Yeerks seemed more evil
@1993DJC stephenie meyer can make up her own freakin ideas. Seriously a girl falling in love with a vampire has been done countless times!! Not to mention vampires vs. werewolves either!! Now this... it's just sad.
@daisyhinojosa23 it's still a good story, not everything is completely original nowdays. atleast it isnt like Avatar where eveey single aspect was taken from something else somewhere, Dancing with Wolves, Pocahontas, Fergully, Halo theyre just the start. Anyway that wasn't my point. There are many stories about parasitic aliens with similar traits, Meyer just used that so that we could see humans from another point of view as well as typically writing a romance and journey/adventure genre novel.
this is my favorite book ever! if you like this kind of writing read Prism by Aliza Kellerman, Wings and Spells by Aprillyn Pike, City Of Bones, City Of Ashes, and City Of Glass by Cassandra Clare. they are really good. i thought i loved twilight but now i know how obsessed i can get with a book. i have read it about 17 or 18 times. i have an over normal vivid mind so it makes me want to read good books way more than once. but yea i am reading it again right now :D

It took me while to understand what was happening, sometimes I even had to reread the first chapter which didn't make any sense, but three hundred pages into this book it gets incredibly good, almost better than twilight cause in some ways it's more realistic, even though there is an element of fantasy to it, but i love fantasy so i love this book...i just don't see how they're going to make a movie out it....

Meyer isn't the best writer who ever lived, but her writing style is relatable enough that the age group she focuses her books at enjoy the story. For example... Twilight. I'd venture to guess Twilight wasn't aimed at 25 year old males. It was probably written with young females in mind, in their late teens and early 20s.

The Twilight books I've read each a million times per. But The Host.... I start at Chapter 30 b/c I can't stand the yat.

I love this book. I never get why people keep comparing it to twilight. They are totally different. Just cus it's by the same author does not mean they will be alike

I did research on this book...It sounds like its honestly a bit of a ripoff of Animorphs..
Aliens that control humans? But not to destroy, but to IMPROVE? Come on, who would honestly watch this crap...60% of all Alien races that invade earth are hostile, and all of them believe that humans are pitiful...They try to give us hundreds of warnings, but WE DON'T LISTEN TO THEM Why should they care about our fate honestly?

i read that book as soon as i could. and it was a great book and a different take on things, but i had also read the animorphs series a while before then and the similarities between the book were very noticable, the main difference beign that the Hosts were less relatable with humans than the Yeerks, however Yeerks seemed more evil

@daisyhinojosa23 it's still a good story, not everything is completely original nowdays. atleast it isnt like Avatar where eveey single aspect was taken from something else somewhere, Dancing with Wolves, Pocahontas, Fergully, Halo theyre just the start. Anyway that wasn't my point. There are many stories about parasitic aliens with similar traits, Meyer just used that so that we could see humans from another point of view as well as typically writing a romance and journey/adventure genre novel.

this is my favorite book ever! if you like this kind of writing read Prism by Aliza Kellerman, Wings and Spells by Aprillyn Pike, City Of Bones, City Of Ashes, and City Of Glass by Cassandra Clare. they are really good. i thought i loved twilight but now i know how obsessed i can get with a book. i have read it about 17 or 18 times. i have an over normal vivid mind so it makes me want to read good books way more than once. but yea i am reading it again right now :D

It took me while to understand what was happening, sometimes I even had to reread the first chapter which didn't make any sense, but three hundred pages into this book it gets incredibly good, almost better than twilight cause in some ways it's more realistic, even though there is an element of fantasy to it, but i love fantasy so i love this book...i just don't see how they're going to make a movie out it....

I agree English is versatile, but I find immense disdain for slang and misuse of already establish words. Language works with fixed laws as well as everything else. @ConanofItelligia20 I'm not sure I understand how it's possible to tell other people that the books they like reading or the music they like listening to is somehow wrong. Meyer isn't the best writer who ever lived, but her writing style is relatable enough that the age group she focuses her books at enjoy the story. For example... Twilight. I'd venture to guess Twilight wasn't aimed at 25 year old males. It was probably written with young females in mind, in their late teens and early 20s.

And being that likes and dislikes are entirely subjective, your opinion of her books is leveled on the same playing field as the opinion of someone who enjoys her books.

this is definitely one of the best book ive read so far.
ive read twilight, new moon, eclipse and breaking dawn.--yeah they are all great, its just that the movie ruined the beauty of it. the characters in the movie sucks.XD
i just hope they wont do the same mistake with this one.

@farawaygrl I disagree. I thought Stephanie Meyer (whom I absolutely think is great) ran on and on for more than half the book. It only got good when they stopped slapping the chick in the face and calmed down in CHapter 30. THIRTY for goodness sakes!!!! THEN it was awsome. But she talks on and on for wayyyyy tooo long. The Twilight books I've read each a million times per. But The Host.... I start at Chapter 30 b/c I can't stand the yat.
