Why not? Many of Isaiah's and other prophet's prophecies speak of things beyond their lifetime-some of which the Jewish people even interpret as such. Don't forget people are still reading Isaiah's words today! Funny how your Jewish ancestors 2000 years ago at the time of Christ seemed to be expecting a king/Messiah to come? Christianity began with Jews, not gentiles!

I have used Hebrew/English translations online (JPS 1917) and a soft back JPS translation from 1985 - translated by the JEWISH Publication Society. Also scholars such as Dr Michael L Brown can speak Hebrew amongst other languages. So i think the language issue is not really so. The JPS 1917 version is available online in parallel hebrew/english for you to compare if you like - google "mechon mamre"
