  • virginty is strong with this on..

  • @iSuperTE Looks like he's married based on the gold ring he has on

  • @Tetarkall OWNED.

  • @Tetarkall or it's a purity ring....:o

  • right now i have a Dual Core Intel 2nd Generation Core i3 processor, could i switch it out with an Intel core i5?

  • @iMoofyy if it has the same connections

  • can i install an intel i7 when i have an amd phenom x6 1100t already there

  • @l4dxpert1 Can I have your 1100t?

  • My motherboard is compatible with AMD and I try to install my AMD am2 socket compatible chip.

And when i start up, it says CPU Mismatch, Fatal Error system halt.

    10$ reward if fixed.

  • @Epic2k9 Only some CPUs are compatible with some motherboards (you might have heard of 'matching chipsets', even if both items are both AMD or Intel.

  • can i put a fx 8200 on a ASUS M5A97 EVO? hope i can... otherwise i will be very angry tomorrow :P

  • does the cpu come with the paste?

  • Is it wrong if i install a Intel prosessor and has a Radeon Graphics card? My old prosessor has 3,1.... And the Intel is on 5,1.. Will it be better? (Laptop)

  • Does it matter if it's a dual core/ quad core processor? Or does each Motherboard support different cores in that regard.

For example I have an i3 single core processor in my computer right now, I know it can take an i5, but not an i7, I don't know however if it can take a dual core/ quad core.

  • @CardinalPiggles i3 is a dual core......

  • hey whats up...i have a amd processor and im wondering can i install a intel processor on a amd computer?

  • @99tare No. He already said that you HAVE to use the corresponding chipset.

  • Thanks for the tutorial!

  • what if you have a liquid cooling system any special way to uninstall/install it? so you can get to your CPU? wanting to upgrade to newest Intel

  • @Xadanar a good dual-core processor will allow you to play the latest games (Skyrim, for example). I'd recommend the AMD Athlon II X2 (dual-core) processor. System bus speed of 4000 MHz according to AMD's website. Though you probably have an Intel motherboard, so go for an i5, which is also a dual-core processor.

  • Can i install a Intel Celeron Dual Core E3400,into a Biostar MCP5PB M2+ ?

  • This makes me want to cry

  • Can i replace a AMD Proccesor with a intel proccesor without having to buy another motherboard and if so do i just pop in the new proccesor

  • @2290Sean No.

And replacing the processor is simple enough. Let it fall into place, don't push it. Apply thermal compound, not too much or too little. Don't worry about it if the processor already comes with it. Lock the heatsink onto the motherboard and screw in the fan, plug it to the motherboard, and viola! You saved about $80.

  • @scrapcock Thanks

  • @2290Sean Look up your motherboard on newegg or something. That way you'll be able to see all the specs and compatibilty. For example, mines compatible with AMD Phenom X2, X4, X6 and a few other ones.

  • Thanks for this! Good Video!

  • so your telling me when i update my cpu i just unplug it and plug a new one in, haha I had a feeling that it was this but i did not think it would be so easy

  • @MOZZWIGAN Pretty much.

At best buy this process would take 2 weeks at the service center and probably $80+.

Good to know this stuff to save some money.

  • Creating a custom desktop computer? Not sure how to install components?

then don't do it why do u have to do it if u have no idea about it

  • Will it be safe to use a single core cpu fan on a dual core cpu?

  • my amd ii x2 220 has am3 socket so can i replace it with the amd phenom ii x4 quad core 960t black edition run in ths socket its am3 aswell but will my motherboard run it

  • I do have an old Intel E6600 Dual Core, I am planning to upgrade my CPU to a new i5 2500, I was wondering, do I have to upgrade the power supply in order to do so? If not, in what case a power supply upgrade is required? Upgrading to a more powerful GPU maybe? Thanks in advance!

  • @Ciukyexacta hey, how much w is your psu? Ya if you wanted a medium to high end gpu you would probably have to upgrade your psu to 500w/450w

  • Some questions:

1= What is zarman thing doing?

2= I have an AMD motherboard... can I install a intel processor?

3=Please give me a processor(AMD)... I have no money :( please... my curent processor has 1,6 ghz I just want a normal computer :(( please!!!

  • When I install my dual core intel pentium processor on my intel motherboard. It won't even start up, But when I put the original processor in. It starts up. What is a possible problem?

  • @blueburn333 listen you idiot the program can detect things in your motherboard.

i used this one utility for DKA 790 GX Platinum and it wouldn't work but yet it said it was for the peticular motherboard.

the same is with you blueburn333

  • @D3an56898 Yeah you "You idiot" Go to hell punk, You didn't have to be on the rag when you responded to my comment.

  • and within the system itself? do i need to disable/enable or download/delete anything?

  • Prong...

  • hello there..!!!!

  • Can I install a Intel core i5 2500k, into a Gigabyte M68MT-S2P?

Trying to build a gaming computer.

  • @skellytoon273 no you can`t.i bet your processor is AMD.yOU CAN`T get an intel.just amd.buy another

  • @skellytoon273 thats an AMD motherboard, so it only takes AMD processors, so to answer your question, No.

also, thats a motherboard for a slim/mini tower, so making a supped up gaming machine might not happen with that motherboard, (thats if your tryin to play games like CoD:MW3, Battlefield, Dead Island, ect. ect.) if your doing it for like Sims 2, typhoon, or games like that, you should be ok.

  • @TheILLAKrew Lol, thanks, yeah it's actually not that bad with the processor and graphics I got in it right now, runs most games fine.

  • @skellytoon273 Intel core i5 2500k is good for gaming?

  • @gtamission100m It's a dual-core processor. Most of the newer games have dual-core processor as a minimum requirement. Quad-core is recommended, but dual-core is more than enough.

  • @skellytoon273 get a I7

  • @Xadanar

i7 is overrated. i5 is more than good enough.

  • @skellytoon273 look up your motherboard documentation for which processors it supports

  • @skellytoon273 yes u can

  • @skellytoon273 No. That is an AMD motherboard, and only supports AMD processors compatible with the AM3 socket.

  • @skellytoon273 No. That is an AMD motherboard, putting a intel processor in there wont be a good idea.

  • why is his thermal paste silver but my arctic silver wasn't ??

  • Life the Liver.. Okay...

  • Prong is a universal word: I had prongs for breakfast. My, what prongs you have. Ooh, its so prong in here.

  • muthaboad

  • What about ASUS motherboard? What chip i need?

  • @DaNewChampp I believe ASUS make AMD, so an AMD chip will fit that.

  • I got a MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD MS-7360 (CPU 1) motherboard, can I install a i5 or a i7 on it?

  • @Tornqvistarn

    depends what socket it supports.

  • I got a P7h55-M pro board and today i finally went and bought a new core i5-2500 processor, because I have seen everywhere (even in the handbook) that its compatable with i5 processors, but thwne I came home I found out something horrible, it didn't fit -.- the two dots on the side didn't fit, what can I do?

  • @M0vir Return it? You can't really alter the sockets....that or buy a new mobo.

  • there were so many that's what she said moments when he's putting in the first fan for the amd motherboard

  • So i have a AMD athlon x4 635 but want a Phenom x4 965 My socket is AM3 and the phenom is AM3, Can i just replace the CPU and not worry about replacing Mobo as well?

  • @Lokes1890 Sure can.. your motherboards supports the AM3 socket so your good to go

  • @TheNewDivide91 Alright thanks! :D

  • Comment removed

  • Tap 1 on your keyboard. lol prongs.

  • do you not need to clean the cpu if brand new? i noticed a lot of other people cleaning it with rubbing alcohol or something else. is this unncessary, just put it in and put thermal compound on and then fan and it's good to go?

  • My computer takes an AMD processor does that mean that is the ONLY type of processor it can take?

  • @konsoloman It depends on the mother board.

  • I'm thinking of building my own, although the whole process of installing the CPU really worries me. I can't afford a mistake & I'm likely to make 1, true I could just buy a computer but I'll be spending more in the long run to upgrade it rather then just building what I need now. So I'm still not to sure what I'm do, but I gotta decide ina week.

  • @sodapop554 install the cpu is very easy.

really the onyl way u could fuck up is if u touch the pins on the bottom of it or press down on it when u get it into place

  • @danerdsskaters Yeah I decided to buy a prebuilt 1 lol. It costs around the same & has similar specs to the 1 I was goina build. Now I just gotta make another 100 bucks so when I actually buy it I wont be flat broke.

  • @sodapop554 :( aww man.

lol i built my first pc TODAY and it went real smooth almost no problems and im using it right now in fact :)

    its actually really easy

  • @danerdsskaters Yeah, for what I do building 1 wouldn't come much cheaper until I got in the 1k range. I kinda doubt I'd ever need a computer that beast either. Lol all I do is play RuneScape & watch YouTube, for that matter my current computer is good enough for those. Although it is slowly degrading & I have no way to reinstall windows or reformat. Idk if this 1 I'm buying will come with the Windows 7 disc either =\. I can always make early system restore point though right when I get it.

  • its not always that easy you gotta know what type of processor you need there is alot of processors with different pins on the bottom

  • is every tool in this video called a prong?

  • Do you HAVE to use the paste stuff?

  • @Brysonatorful If you don't it can overheat easily.

  • @Brysonatorful no, but if you dont, the CPU will overheat and youre fucked... so kinda...

  • modaboad

  • Not a bad vid but the fans looked a bit archaic

  • do u have to use a Intel CPU on a intel motherboard?? or could i just use a AMD on a Intel Motherboard??

  • @Norsegod127 You have to use an Intel CPU on an Intel motherboard. That is your chip set for your computer.

  • Prong.

  • AMD is not cheaper at all.

  • @collsni well AMD use to be way cheaper then Intel, But not so much anymore

  • @eaglemike1515 Found a phenom II X6 for 153, in my opinion that's pretty cheap.

  • @RiSiNGPHENiX552 thats a nice deal were did you get it?

  • @eaglemike1515 I haven't got it yet, but if you look on steam, then go to the amd page, you can find a good deal

  • leaver lol it's lever!!

  • when u buy new processors does the paste comes with it?

  • i have an Atnom processor i would like to upgrade it for gaming but to what?

  • @TitaniumEffects an AMD quad core try to get one with a L3 cache but L2 is fine too

  • i don't think my computer CPU has a fan...

  • @TheOriginalRuskin Well, thats not good. If it was made at the factory it should, but if you put your pc together make sure to get one, of your going to destroy your CPU. And they dont cost that much, actually.

  • @TheOriginalRuskin look at this guy he doesn't even know what he's talking about...

  • totch? :)

  • prong prong prong prong prong prong

  • ok, I installed a new chip but when the Computer starts up. the Computer runs for about 2mins and then turns off. also there is no power going to the Mouse or keybored when this happens.

Now Power isn't the problem because I also just got a 850W power supply. and the chip I have isn't anything needing a lot of power it's only 3.0ghz Deuo.

I'm guessing the chip is not meant for the Current Motherbored., but that's my guess. anyone have any idea?

  • @Dogmeat1950 I doubt u installed something ,u stupid german immigrant.

  • @ViciousCritique think you got the wrong person i'm not German or a Immigrant

  • @Dogmeat1950 check the processor type and the motherboard socket type...i recently had that problem with my build, i bought an intel core i5 which was an lga1155 socket type and an intel motherboard that was an lga1156 type, go to intel and look up your chip and motherboard they have a compatibility checker. i ended uo having to get a new motherboard but now my system runs perfectly....im suprised it does too because i built the whole thing off of youtube videos lol

  • @sonic911 hahaha that's amazing :).thanks for the Info.

  • Umm do I still need a new heater if my motherboard's socket (478) supports the kind of processor I'm going to buy? (Noob here, so plz answer)

  • @tinyke3 u mean heat sink? the processor comes with a new heat sink

  • @sonic911 Not if you order on ebay.. xD

  • @tinyke3 you really do need one if you dont want the money you spent on that processor to go to waste....itll heat up and burn out really fast

  • @tinyke3 theyre not that expensive their only like 20-30 bucks

  • nice advert abar bad breath before this video like xD

  • Prong Pron

  • Prong

  • you need to hit the gym bro

  • can i use any kind of paste when applying it to the processor and where can i get some

  • @ibilliedyourmomhard nah bro you must use 'thermal paste'.. hope this helps

  • Thanks dude i have a OLD computer its from like 04^_^ It has Windows XP and intel inside 4 So i want to just upgrade it so what your saying is i could just buy a intel i7 chip and it would make it better spite the fact it has 200 Gb?

  • @eskimO3184 Umm I don't know much, but I looked a few things up about upgrading it, and if you want to go buy Intel i7, you'll probably have to get a new motherboard. Especially with an old computer like that.

  • @Martin7HD i prefer intel all the way because my old computer had amd and it was terible and my new one from around the same time is so fast

  • "I need to know if Intel Pentium E6700 Wolfdale 3.2GHz CPU Socket Type LGA 775 will fit in my compaq 5102f here is the socket info.

    Socket type: 775

Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:

    •Core 2 Duo E7xxx (Wolfdale-M)

    •Core 2 Duo E4x00 (Conroe)

    •Pentium E2xxx series (Conroe)

•Celeron Dual Core E1xx0 series (Conroe)

    •Celeron 4xx series (Conroe)

  • FOR INTEL USER KIP THIS VIDEO TILL 08:37

  • What would happen if you applied the thermal paste wrong? could you just wipe it off?

  • fuggin adverts keep waking me up

  • ive never seen someone put that much thermal paste lol

  • what a dull voice

  • it kinda feels a bit like a make on blue peter, only more technical. very informative though, and it helped me install my new processor!

  • Can I swap out my AMD Athlon Dual Core processor with a phenom quad?

  • @DrummerLordProdigy First find out if your motherboard would be compatible with the quad core.

  • I have a AMD Sempron140 2.7GHZ

and I want to change it to a AMD AM3 Athlon II X4 640 3.0GHZ without changing the other parts?

  • @Jeremiah1182218

It depends on your motherboard. You have to look up what socket your motherboard has. Now the processor youve selected has an AM3 socket (as the name already says), so you have to have a motherboard with the same socket. If it is not the same, you will have to buy a new motherboard with the actualy socket.

  • I just got hypnotized .....

  • love your video your explanation is so good thank you so much i subbed you ;) thumbs up.

  • Sucha... soothing...voice........ZzZzZzZzZzZzZ...

  • hey what's higher than intel pentium d 915? i have the money to upgrade into decent ones but i wanna know my options. i would get a new mobo to upgrade to i7 but i don't game hard with my pc.

  • How many times do you think he says "prong". Especially when it isn't a prong like "this is a 3 prong connector...", not it's not! It's a 3 'pin' connector

  • @harryham1 prongs on the brain

  • @mustang96100 How can I tell if the fan is compatible?

  • My current processor is by Intel. I guess that means I should upgrade with an Intel CPU. Also, do I absolutely HAVE to change my fan? Or can I keep the fan I have now?

  • would you think upgradeing from a 1.60 ghz to a 2.13 ghz prosssors would actually make a diffrence?

  • @greatsmither Yes

  • im really tired of these advertisements i dont wanna hear no HALO HALO

  • well ive looked at all wires and havent noticed anything lose or out of place .. i thought i might of blown my board as i didint use any earth tool .. but surely if the fans workin the board is ok ?

  • @drterrybrown yeah i think it should be ok tho, i blew my motherboard and the pc could still boot up pratialy........ sooooooooo idk man

  • hey need some help .. i brought a new cpu after installing it i turn my pc on and nothing boots up .. no bio'os menu no boot option .. so ive but my old cpu in and the same is still happening .. im gttin power to the fan thats above the cpu so still could it be a motherboard issue ?

  • @drterrybrown make sure all your cables are tightly plugged in.

  • @joshemane well i noly unplugged 1 cable and thats the fan one .. and the fan works fine

  • @drterrybrown this may sound obvious but did you pull the lever down on the processor? it sounds to me like it's just an issue of something not being tightened. do you get a video signal at all? that'll determine whether or not it's your video card too. the biggest thing you can do to troubleshoot is simply isolate the problem. figure out where something would go wrong. think about it from a logic standpoint.

  • foxconn FTW haha

  • hi i just got my new chip .. i watched the video they havent given me any hea sink ive just phoned up a shop asking them for a bottle and they said it all depends on the proccers to see if its compatible.. is this true ?

  • Nice

  • I have another question if I have a Heatsink that came with the computer and it already has thermal paste do I have to replace that thermal paste?

  • @Gerome63120m3 NO don't replace it, Check it about 3 to 6 month later if it gone then you add it more thermal paste on it.

  • can i use my pentuim 3 processor into my amd mother board?

  • @warsmith666 No you cant. Intel is another cpu socket. you will chars you cpu if you try

  • once you have installed the new cpu, must you do anything else? like install new drivers?

  • @canipplecorpse I think no,motherboard will simply recognize the cpu.

  • @armix911 oh ok thats good then, thanks

  • @EyelessDerek no its not attached, as you can see in the video there are ways of taking off the heatsink

  • Comment removed

  • is the thermal paste optional?

  • @Gerome63120m3 no you must do it otherwise it will overheat and fry the cpu

  • So the chip are the processor?

  • If i change my old CPU aganist new and better one then i have to add thermo paste necessarily??
