In a band, they need drums to slot in the music. They don't always need them, but drums are an important part of music.

It tembles when I have to play a note for a long time and my teacher keeps telling me that she'll hit me in the head if I keep doing it -.-' (ok, I'm exagerating a little but she's pretty annoyed by that) can you give me some advice?

@ElizabeteK , i am a violist and believe i have a possible soloution to your issue, i think maby when your playing a note for that long instead of holding it steady turn it into a vibrado a steady vibration in t he note, it would cover up your shaking and if your a beginner your teacher would be impressed by your ability to vibrado :) the only time you woudent want to do it is when your playing a certain style of music that calls for clear and concise notes :P

@michaelyang123456 What will help you to stay in tune is scales. Yea...they are super boring but they really help you out a lot in the beginning. Try not to shift into third until you are comfortable with 1st. Learning the violin or viola takes a lot of patience and practice. There is a professor of violin here on youtube called professorv he shows detailed tutorials on how to play the violin properly. If you don't have lessons give him a try if you do just be patient you will be awesome soon^^

@gbritaney if you play by ear you can also try to transcribe it onto sheet music and make it available through to people on different sites. you don't need to use very flash programs like Sibelius 6 or wateva there are free programs which do similar jobs. it would be easier then making these type of videos for you and for "us" just my opinion.
